Swish through September 2019 with the fledglings - Flylady thread

Let's swish and swipe our way through September, decluttering as we go with the Flylady! We have a mix of old and new fledglings and everyone is welcome to join us for chat and motivation. Thanks to Stressy for running a fabulous August thread!

The Flylady Launch Pad is the place to start each day - each week focuses on a different zone of the house to clean if you have decluttered it first (can't clean clutter) and you can also follow the Babysteps if you'd like to introduce one new element each day and build on that.

If you like to plan in advance, the weekly Sneak Peek will give you advance notice of the missions and zone coming up, it changes each weekend.

The monthly focus for September is making the bed.

Happy birthday chic

Busy day here.home bleurgh, four loads laundry, chasing up who can trigger D's ehcp- I've emailed council a lengthy reason as recommended and I got a link saying it's been received and will be answered within 7working days
Rang council to get light fitting fixed and split electrical socket(due 30th in the morning)

Visited a friend(she if 10 kids, all at school btw) with D's to meet her two new fur babies(Tortie eight week old girl kittens)D's was beside himself playing with themSmile

In other news feral bit that attacked next doors granddaughter try chuck a stone through windows.she came out and told him off,he laughed.police called again(granddaughter distraught not even safe at home)they still feel it's not the issue and are referring it to s.services...And as I said wtf is granddaughter ment to do in the meantimeAngry

Also my dd1 text me she had a car accident today..lady drive into back if her Corsa on a big roundabout and car is a right offSadher fiancé finished work early and drove back (works in next county) to take her for a check up at a+e as has headache and backache(force bump knocked off her driving glasses) thankfully they saying just pulled /bruised muscles and she's going to be in increasing pain next few days.sentbhime co codemol.whilst wait for partner to get home her workplace text(she had text saying what happened) saying hope you ok,these are emails you need to respond to,followed by four other tasks..I said I'd be telling them where to go!;she has an interview Thursday for job elsewhere as they totally take the Micheal as she on contracted hours but nature of her job means she gets calls at all hours and emails that need immediate attention day off or not

Both the girls are still poorly.dd2 has beetroot throat, fever, and chesty cough.lil zoo has now got the beetroot throat and fever.they both went school armed with strepsils.dd2 now having a long shower to ease sinus pain and I have soup cooking(squash and sweet potato).lil zoo has been practising chopping apple for fruit salad(her first cooking lesson at school on wed is making fruit saladGrin)the other fruits I will get tomorrow and she will trial run it teatime tomorrow as we have to go off piste of recipe due to allergies so she needs to know how to do it by herself!

What a day Zoo!

Good News about EHCP.

That poor young girl. She needs to photograph him. Is there anyone who can offer support. Contact a Family if they are still on the go.
Did the neighbour like the hedge cut? So will Police say SS when he breaks a window...is that not criminal damage?

Poor DD1. Tell her not to bother doing any of the work I think that may be illegal when off on sick leave. One of the fledglings works in HR don't they?
Her neck might be sore tomorrow. I've had whiplash a few times. She shouldn't have got out of the car if her car was that bad.Did they x ray her neck? Hope it eases tomorrow.
And the others with sore throats already. Poor you zoo.Passes honey and lemon.

Stilllivinginazoo · 23/09/2019 20:55

Thank you bower she was chuffed with the hedge cut and geraniums.pity it was only a day before more trouble from that lousy kid.her granddaughter is a summer baby so she's only just 11 and she's not a mean kid in the slightest

CarysRed · 23/09/2019 21:02

Hi can I join? I’m expecting my first at the end of October so I want to get the house all clean and ready for him, but I’m absolutely exhausted so need some encouragement

ChicCroissant · 23/09/2019 21:36

Welcome Carys, take it easy if you are tired (congratulations on your pregnancy), sounds like you've got the nesting instinct there!

I've had a nice birthday, DD seemed surprised I was still willing to help her with her homework! Anyone is free to use that as an excuse to do less today Grin

zoo I hope your DD is ok, and that the younger ones can shift the colds, sounds like you are all in the wars there.

Will be back later with the links.

A belated Happy Birthday to you Chic.

Zoo - well done on chasing up the EHCP, you do have to keep on their backs. I'm going to have to slog my way through it all again for DS's 6th form place in a few months time, also I got a letter saying his DLA will end and we have to apply for PIP next year all this while supporting him through his gcse year. Hope DD1 makes a speedy recovery, also the younger DDs.

Carys you have come to the right place, we chat a lot and somehow manage a bit of housework, the thread has definitely made a difference to my household.

Tada!

Not a lot today. Did a load of washing and put it on the line having seen the forecast for only light showers late afternoon -wrong! Torrential rain most of the day so its all back in and been spun again, will have to tumble it tomorrow as forecast is very wet. Also managed a bit of food shopping and a few emails after work but that's about all.

Bowerbird5 · 23/09/2019 22:36

ED we're on bloody flood alert again!
Welcome Carys. OOOH two babies in one year on the thread Smile

We post TA Das for work completed and some of us work on the Power of Three which would be good for you as you are feeling tired. This includes things like paperwork so post away. We sometimes post To Do Lists to motivate us. It does work. Lovely one to start you off is the boudoir unless you want to work on Baby Steps first.I did a bit of each to start. I am still decluttering as I go. I have lots of clutter not all mine I might add.

CarysRed · 23/09/2019 22:52

Thank you @ChicCroissant and happy birthday to you!!

@ExpletiveDelighted I hope it can make a difference to mine! It’s a bloody mess

@Bowerbird5 I’ll have a look at the lists now :)

ChicCroissant · 24/09/2019 00:14

You're nesting carys! Welcome. Sorry not around today - busy in work. Husband holding the fort while child on school holiday so neither bed linen change for dust allergy nor homework got done. I'd swap him for Ned today!

Solitarycaddis · 24/09/2019 05:40

Good morning all!

A warm welcome to Carys and congratulations on the baby! Take it steady!

Hope your dd1 ok today Zoo post accident

Glad union rep supportive Bower

Thanks for links Chic and best of luck being prodded at hospital today!

Waves to everyone else!

Hardly got started yesterday owing to joint pain. Did two loads washing and hung up. Emptied DW. Cleaned kitchen surfaces. Did some admin for nationality dossier. Went to doc last night re: joint pain as knees and right wrist really troubling me seven months on from op. Don't know whether it's oestrogen withdrawal or some kind of arthritis. Also still have dizziness every so often. Just when I need to be at my most physically fit for new life in the country, I feel like a crumped baggage. Still, losing weight should help!

Onwards! Hope everyone has a good day!

Must must clear boudoir bed today which has become a dumping ground for laundered clothes and suitcases!

Solitarycaddis · 24/09/2019 05:42

Oops Toostressy sorry, totally forgot to look out that info for you yesterday; will do so today!

ExpletiveDelighted · 24/09/2019 06:45

Tada!

Got up to go to the loo and did a few jobs while I was at it.

Fed cats
Removed slug from kitchen floor Angry
Made my packed lunch
Fetched milk in
Unpacked veg box delivered yesterday

Made a cuppa and back to bed. No one else is up yet, I'm listening to steady rain through the open window and its peaceful.

Stilllivinginazoo · 24/09/2019 07:54

Forgot to add good luck with appointment today chic
Well it's quiet here, apart rain pouring.dd2 was up til gone 2 trying breathe through a blocked nose with a tight chest.fun times..
She's too exhausted for school and as temp still up and looks like a red faced corpse she's staying in bed (asleep again, snoring interspersed with coughs)lil zoo temps up and has similar symptoms so as she had to be woken(never happens)and cried at idea of going in I've left them both in bed.fact it's hammering down out so I'm hoping not getting soaked today plus plenty sleep they be back up and running well at least staggering tomorrow!!

TooStressyTooMessy · 24/09/2019 08:02

Welcome Carys Smile.

Hope it goes ok today Chic.

Just getting ready for school run here then am planning to do some meal prep later and need to prep some stuff for work as well and general school admin stuff. Out for dinner later with friends Grin. So for once I appear to be actually following the Flylady plan for the day as Tuesday is plan an play day usually I think.

ChicCroissant · 24/09/2019 08:08

Morning!

I am about to leave for the hospital, hopefully should be back around lunchtime - or earlier, depending on what they decide to do. All a bit up in the air, not helping the nerves Grin

OP posts:
Solitarycaddis · 24/09/2019 08:37

Hope you are not stuck there waiting for too long Chic

Sorry dd2&3 are poorly Zoo

No lessons this afternoon for DD because of teachers' meeting so we will be off out to buy a lab coat after lunch..

Washing X 2 loads is on

And I have just made two beef stews which are now in the oven. One for tonight and one for the freezer. The furries were watching me from behind the dog gate with their tongues hanging out so I have saved them a bit of bone. Now going to walk the blighters. Smile

foxessocks · 24/09/2019 09:00

Good morning everyone! Sc beef stew sounds perfect, it's a horrible rainy day here I really fancy a stew now!

Opened the door to go on the school run earlier (we have quite a long walk) and it was torrential, I never, ever take the car because of rain but I admit we did today! Still got soaked! We ended up early so dropped dd at breakfast club and am already back home on the sofa in dry clothes Grin

I should now use this extra hour to get some stuff done before we go to a toddler group. I've got the day off today so it'll be nice to go a group we used to go to before I started working again.

It's very tempting to stay indoors though!!

Hope you're all staying dry ☔⛈️💧

Bowerbird5 · 24/09/2019 09:42

I've I have wondered about getting those. In fact I thought I had bought a couple but can't find them I wonder if DD nicked them for when she was moving.Maybe I said she could have them in a bit of a sympathetic chat about moving.Did you get much sleep last night?

Chic good luck with that appointment.

ED can sympathise on the slug front yuk we are always getting them coming in. We can't find them just the beautiful(yukky) silver trails left on my good carpet. Occasional one in kitchen which the cat plays with.

Foxes don''t blame you for taking the car. I would go to the toddlers it might be fun to catch up and see how the others have grown and any new babies.

Zoo sounds like you have done the right thing keeping them home.

Over thinking things this morning. I upped my meds but should have asked for a prescription as I haven't enough to last me till repeat. I only took one last night and now anxiety set in. I am also going to the dentist so bad move last night. Still I did get started earlier.

TA DA
cat fed, watered and litter tray out and replaced. Mat wiped.

Small mountains of clothing sorted and sock bag discovered so will do those later. One I nearly threw out the other day, matching is in there.

They would be good for Foxes as they have foxes on them.
Wash load on. Washing finished. Love new machine. Quieter as built in and it beeps when load finished. It also says HELLO.

Right down this tea and go and get shower and changed then drive to dentist. Only about five miles and large country village as opposed to city one I used to have. Good magazines too and staff at reception lovely, good banter with locals. Damn I'll need money. New dentist though I used to go to his wife I hope he is as gentle. I liked having a women for a change.

Morning Carys don't forget to post your TA DA's. Power of Three! Is enough.

Waves to Laputa and hopes that you are feeling a bit better we miss you.

Waves to SC and anyone I have missed. Leaves pancakes in the naughty corner with bacon and maple syrup and fruit for those on a diet.

Solitarycaddis · 24/09/2019 10:57

Good luck at the dentist Bower! Think of horses with lovely flowing manes and feathers.x

Dog walk was short because of rain (they don't like it) and I have now opted to stay in Foxes. Hope you don't get drenched twice!

Now peeling potatoes for lunch while watching Supreme Court decision fallout/analysis. Crikey. (Over to the Speakers of the HofC and the Lords. Presumably MPs rushing back to Parliament?). Will Boris resign? I doubt it somehow.

2 more loads washing on.

CarysRed · 24/09/2019 11:18

Thank you for your welcome everyone Smile

Good luck today Chic!

I’m sorry about your DD’s, I hope they get better soon Zoo

It absolutely bucketed it down here today!. I woke up because of the rain so have had broken sleep, am absolutely shattered. We finalised a baby name last night, thank god!.

Bowerbird5 · 24/09/2019 12:48

Wonders whether to tell Carys about DS 2 named until he was born. Midwife asked name. I told her. DH🤔 says he doesn’t look like one😳 fairly ordinary name. Spent next three weeks (Scotland) trying to settle on one, sat in car park still deciding with an hour to go. Not keen on the middle name now neither is son 2, first name fine. Long and short version both used.Beware of eh dos changing mind. Don’t chuck out the book.

Thanks SC. Good idea for next time.

Well got to dentist and an extraction booked whhhhhhhaaaaaaatttttt?
False alarm someone tick wrong box. Whew to both nerves and wallet!
Hygienist December and app. 6 maths so pleased to hear that. Discussion about dry mouth ( tell me about it) and prescription drugs. Told him about re hydrating problems at school. He seems lovely and I asked after wife who has gone to work elsewhere.
So cup of celebratory tea and back to work. Going to make a cake as friend coming on way back from Cornwall. She has rang or texted every day to see how I am. She’s a keeper. We only met about five years ago. This is the one who met her new boyfriend on a bus!
Have small pile of ironing looks towards Ned’s pic🤓 🤔 wonders if hiding those was deliberate. 5 items.
Looks at chest of drawers and thinks that can be tomorrow’s job. Lots of clutter. Necklaces, earrings, perfume, CD player, boxes photos etc etc need removing and dusting.
Bedding box needs doing as half bedding in wash basket on the floor. Can see top of dad’s old trunk though so that is a win.
Feel a bit better now. Went to dentist, butchers, gift shop ( browse) classes for making Christmas wreaths being booked up fast. Fancy that and you get afternoon tea too. £30.

CarysRed · 24/09/2019 12:52

@Bowerbird5 we’ve gone through so many different names, if he doesn’t look like this one I’m going to scream😂.
