Swish through September 2019 with the fledglings - Flylady thread

Let's swish and swipe our way through September, decluttering as we go with the Flylady! We have a mix of old and new fledglings and everyone is welcome to join us for chat and motivation. Thanks to Stressy for running a fabulous August thread!

The Flylady Launch Pad is the place to start each day - each week focuses on a different zone of the house to clean if you have decluttered it first (can't clean clutter) and you can also follow the Babysteps if you'd like to introduce one new element each day and build on that.

If you like to plan in advance, the weekly Sneak Peek will give you advance notice of the missions and zone coming up, it changes each weekend.

The monthly focus for September is making the bed.

I'm glad you got your appointment Laputa. I missed you on here. Poor dd, it's going on a long time. She must be feeling it will never end. Iron sounds good. Maybe orange juice too to help the iron absorb.

Ds had a headache when we got to swimming. Think it was reading on the bus so we came home. I've sinusitis too. What a day!

TooStressyTooMessy · 20/09/2019 18:25

Nice to hear from you Laputa although of course sorry things have been so difficult. Oh your poor DD, that is a long time.

Stilllivinginazoo · 20/09/2019 19:17

Laputa hat is a long one.if it's very heavy is contact go,otherwise I'd guess just iron and sit it out.nit helpful though poor bean

IVEgottheDECAF · 20/09/2019 20:06

Ty Laputa sorry to hear things are crap for you right now. Agree on taking iron with fresh orange, will also stop her getting constipated!

We had our first HV visit today for baby. Have already been signed off from MW. Now dont have the looming threat of professionals visiting at home for a month!

ChicCroissant · 20/09/2019 21:23

Laputa Flowers

I'm going to have an early night (again), the constant discomfort pain is wearing me down a bit! Painkillers should kick in soon!

Laundry. Laundry everywhere. Today’s plan is laundry. Plus girls dancing, party for one child and play date for another.

Laputa lovely to hear from you. You have a lot on. It can't be easy. Flowers

Had a bad day yesterday but then friend arrived with gin and wine.
However I managed to steer through all the shit and do a couple of things I needed to do.
Go to Unison, they were great lots of support and can go in any time. Plus excellent knowledge.
Sorted bank payment and Building Society so that there is more money going in for the mortage for DS3 as he doesn't earn enough to cover so he pays half and the bills.DS2 used to pay too so had plenty plus extra for unexpected stuff. Now I need to step up( well about a year ago ) so finally got around to it.
Another anti procrastination I paid Debenhams bill as it hadn't arrived and a letter saying problem with email.Apparently I said i would opt for online. Don't remember that but it would explain why no bill. So paid it all off so can forget about it just now. Ironically it was some new clothes for school because we are not allowed to wear certain clothes now. Clutches pearls resting on twinset and carefully folds legs under chair so as not to damage high heels.

SO yeah me! All anti procrastination out of the way. I feel slightly better this morning. It is a lovely sunny day. Going down to do my other "job" but they forgot to tell me it is this weekend. They will be hungry. So doubtful if I will be around until Monday pm.Best friend is going to feed cat.
TA DA
Bed made.
Ned has at last put the laundry away in correct drawers but then i found he had missed some ironing in another basket. Oh Dear!
Vacuumed downstairs.
Anti procrastination done.
Laundry going on line in a minute, washed last night.

Have a good day. Borrow Ned while I am away if you want as I don't trust him with the iron. He'll probably sit and eat my Italian biscuits watching TV.

Bowerbird5 · 21/09/2019 10:47

That is an awful load of homework. And they wonder why teens MH problems are increasing. WE are now teaching MH in Primary.

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/09/2019 10:49

< first in line for a borrow of Ned >

TooStressyTooMessy · 21/09/2019 10:59

I debated shoving you out of the way to get in first with Ned Ive but thought that would be wrong since you’ve just had a baby Grin. I’ll be second in line.

Bowerbird5 · 21/09/2019 13:15

Daren't let on I am not going now due to change of plan slinks off quietly.

ChicCroissant · 21/09/2019 14:38

A belated good afternoon from me, fledglings!

IVE hope you are having lots of lovely baby snuggles in the early hours with the feeds, I quite liked the quieteness of the house overnight/early hours.
stressy today is the best weather day so I've got laundry outside as well.

zoo bridal dress shopping , that does sound like a lot of homework. I was at a parent information evening recently and they were saying to revise a good 3 years before any exams it does seem like a lot of pressure.
Bower that's quite a lot of admin you've got done there, it can feel good to get the bits that have been hanging around for a while done I'm told

Have taken DD to her activity this morning, have had lunch, now need to drag her out to get some gifts for a friend. May leave it until late afternoon and get her tea via the golden arches on the way back

I finally gave up and Googled my symptoms - darn, it looks like a long-term thing! I have a hospital appointment next week so was trying to wait until I saw the experts.

Looking out of the window here it looks a gorgeous sunny autumn afternoon and we have Strictly starting tonight (I am a BIG fan) so it doesn't get much better than that for me Glitterball

Oh really sorry to hear that Chic. Hopefully you will get some more answers next week.

Yay strictly Glitterball.

Ned is yet to arrive...

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/09/2019 17:19

zoo that is awful about neighbours grandaughter! I think i might have found my way round to his house if she was one of mine 🤬

My table has fallen into that kind of state before now too so your not alone. Not for a while though as table clearing is now a dc1/2 job!

Stilllivinginazoo · 21/09/2019 19:04

Think I may designate it to lil zoo with D's clearing his mess.yhe boy us messiest eater which I'm told quite normal with asd

Bowerbird5 · 21/09/2019 19:13

Zoo you did have a very painful foot this week don't be beating yourself up. Your DS is old enough to have binned what he didn't want or put in fridge for later. Naughty DS.

So I decided that since I was not going away I needed to be productive. Had lunch leftovers read magazine a bit made tea and did sudoku not like I was putting anything off, oh no, not me! Then shook my lazy pants and planted loads of plants that needed to go in. Then tidied all pots as Dobbies apparently are going to recycle so you can take them back. Good excuse for a visit as new Christmas (sorry) stuff arriving and getting unpacked.I really want to be organised this year.
Put tools away and stacked pots. It has been so warm this afternoon. I have been out since 12.30pm. The plants took a while to do as we have barked that area so need to cut membrane, dig with crappy wrist, then plant each one must have done about ten and have four more up top to do tomorrow. It looks really good down near summer house. I also put a flag down to start path and it had loads of slugs under it. Henny Penny was thrilled. Talking of which she laid an egg. I had given up on getting any more especially as she was moulting.
GP will be pleased as told me to get out and do stuff and I suggested garden which he told me to crack on, despite sore wrist.Easier said than done will probably throb later. Right off to check if Ned has done the ironing or if one of you has nabbed him while I was outside. I've you are the exception.Anyone else will be on the naughty step. Or as I had it in Nurture the THinking Step!

Bowerbird5 · 21/09/2019 19:16

Meant to say that is awful about young girl what a bloody fright she must have had. In the olden days the local bobby would have taken young lad aside and told him off then told his father with an expectation to reminstrate (sp you know what I mean)with him.

TooStressyTooMessy · 21/09/2019 21:48

zoo, the poor girl Sad.

I have finished the laundry but have faffed on here and done NONE of the extra bits I was hoping to do Angry. Really annoyed with myself. Going to give up and go to bed and hope to be more productive tomorrow.

Plus Ned did not turn up. Who do I complain to?

ChicCroissant · 22/09/2019 00:26

Angry Who has scared off Ned? Angry

Bower we must be kindred spirits as I was reading a Christmas book this morning Xmas Smile As I always say, this is the year I'll be organised but it gets worse each year Xmas Grin

zoo that was a lovely thing to do for your neighbour, so sorry to hear about what happened to her granddaughter - that is so scary. I shouldn't really Google at all as I have a close relative who is a GP but didn't want to bother them. Reading up on what it might be, there seems to be an easy answer as to what is triggering it (food) so if I'd Googled a bit earlier I could have saved myself some pain Blush

Launch Pad link and Babystep (about the office in a bag, may not be needed tbh)

Sleep well, fledglings!

Morning all,

It was a glorious day here yesterday, I did a quick stint at the allotment including more chatting than gardening, the other plotholders are a nice bunch. Then shopping with DS, helping him prepare for a complicated dinner (his suggestion) and took him to his first hockey match of the season, it was way too hot for it but never mind. Enjoyed the dinner when we got back (slow roast shoulder of lamb with homemade flatbreads, salad and various dips). Then settles down for an evening of Strictly. Just about to do some ironing (given up waiting for a turn with Ned) before heading out to the Woolly Hugs meetup in Portsmouth.

Zoo - that's awful for your neighbours DGD. My not-statistically-valid experience of one ASD DS bears out the messy eating theory.

Bower - I like hearing about your garden, summerhouse, Henny Penny, they all sound like a good antidote for work-related woes. I bought a Christmas cooking magazine this week

Chic - hopefully you get some answers on the health issue soon.

Laputa - nice to hear from you but sorry things are so hard. Hope the new diagnosis/meds will bring about some improvement.

TooStressyTooMessy · 22/09/2019 09:55

Morning all. Am at DD2’s activity with the calendar in the hope of being productive!
