Swish through September 2019 with the fledglings - Flylady thread

Let's swish and swipe our way through September, decluttering as we go with the Flylady! We have a mix of old and new fledglings and everyone is welcome to join us for chat and motivation. Thanks to Stressy for running a fabulous August thread!

The Flylady Launch Pad is the place to start each day - each week focuses on a different zone of the house to clean if you have decluttered it first (can't clean clutter) and you can also follow the Babysteps if you'd like to introduce one new element each day and build on that.

If you like to plan in advance, the weekly Sneak Peek will give you advance notice of the missions and zone coming up, it changes each weekend.

The monthly focus for September is making the bed.

foxes5Shock please tell me you were drunk when agreed to that many,or are you hiding fact you are related to Mary Poppins??Grin
I had two once for dd2 when she was 6 and the experience scarred me for life.absolute little buggers who wouldn't do a thing asked/nightmare of laughing and ignoring when told firmly not to something.needless today neither got a return visit!!

foxessocks · 19/09/2019 07:01

Grin I would never normally have that many but it kind of spiralled out of my control!! Some of their parents did stay so it was ok and overall they were well behaved except for the last half an hour or so when they all went feral including my own two who I had to have very cross words with! I practically chucked the last few out because I thought they'd never leave!

Anyway it's got it out the way, no friends over for a while now 😀

Bowerbird5 · 19/09/2019 08:53

Hi, thank you for the kind words. I got really low yesterday.

I am trying to keep productive though. My GP said to keep busy, fill my days and do something physical each day so I am tired at the end of it. I still have way too many bags of stuff. I’ll need to cull them again but not today.
My son had invited me over but I was struggling to leave the house. I was meant to stay the night but he was called back into work( he is the manager) for meetings in the morning so was leaving at 7:30am so not worth staying. I would then have worried about locking up his house as it has a funny door. So I came home. He did take me out for a lovely meal. He’s a good boy.

We often had extras for tea. I used to be a childminder years ago and we had an extra four most days but just for snack unless someone had a problem. They used to love pancakes.

Plan for today
Get up( doubled medication and slept like a log)
Finish bathroom- shelves and floor to do.
Wash kitchen floor
Hot spot still haven’t put everything away on dining table.

I did get nearly all the ironing done but Ned to put away. I was pleased about getting it done. It was on the kitchen table.
15 minutes tidy in kitchen.

Who the hell is Ned ? I would be delighted if he put the ironing away.

Laughed at Disney. I thought you were going to say it looks a great place to work but isn’t.

My friend and I are thinking of a job in a supermarket stacking shelves so no old people or kids to look after.

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/09/2019 09:51

Bower i didnt know you had been a childminder! Did you do it when your own dc were young? I contemplated it myself but could not decide if it was 'fair' on my own dc.

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/09/2019 09:52

Ta da

Wash on
Dryer on
Recycling out
Dry washing sorted
School run and shit
Pots washed
Bottles washed and sterilised
Work tops wiped
Shopping ordered

ChicCroissant · 19/09/2019 11:19

Morning fledglings!

Bower I didn't know you'd been a childminder either. If you are looking for a career change I can make a prediction that with previous teaching/childminding experience you could totally clean up in the after-school minding market! Might not be something you are up for now but if you want to do it in the future, I bet it would be popular as a lot of parents will already know you!

I am trying to clean bits of the oven Sad

God you've put me to shame I've. I just about managed to stumble into work for a meeting before coming home.

foxessocks · 19/09/2019 13:18

I just had a burnt toastie for lunch because someone from the committee I'm on phoned just as I was making it and I forgot it Angry and they stressed me out so I couldn't even enjoy my lunch break!

Back to work I go....humph.

Bowerbird5 · 19/09/2019 13:31

Hi
Yes I've and Chic I child-minded before and after school when my children were young. I had about ten on my books. A Deputy Heads boys x3 days, an Occupational Therapists boys x 2 days, a nurse ?midwife students four children from 6:30/7am before or after school in four day shifts. She had four under 5 no twins and when the youngest was about 18mths they came to me when her husbands shifts 4on 4 off didn't match in. They were gorgeous 2 girls 2 boys one ADHD.Then occasional ones or over spill from my friend including a lad who built my new kitchen. No babies.
I wouldn't go back to it because DH found it a nightmare. It is partly why I have too many toys and books too. Our house is just a cottage and dining room was turned over to them and sitting room about 10 x 12 was similar. Kitchen Table was for arty crafty stuff. They loved coming even though it was often a lot smaller than their houses.

I am not going to work with children again and think I will just retire shortly. I think it is time for me to do my things. I may view things differently in a month. I did consider being a Nanny as I am a qualified Nanny, since the 90's.
Thanks for the support and suggestions. The local school has after school club and so does ours although our teachers are being made to do at least half a term of a club of their choosing. I bet they are well pleased!

Phone call about work from London.Phone call from friend reminding me I am going to hers for tea then Garden club. I had forgotten although she only reminded me two days ago. So something to look forward to.

Bathroom done bar washing the floor.Thinking I might paint it next week it could do with a less bright colour. I should manage before DH comes home and says he doesn't like the colour!
Bed stripped. Washing on.
Kitchen wiped and a pot from last night done.
Off to have a coffee in Summer House now that phone call from London has happened I sat all day waiting yesterday. Worth waiting for though the man was lovely and helpful.

Bowerbird5 · 19/09/2019 13:33

Oh Foxes how annoying. Would you like a gammon roll?

Hopes foxes isn't a veggie or vegan. Cringes if she is.

Lisette1940 · 19/09/2019 15:45

I need a Ned to put away my ironing!

Bowerbird5 · 19/09/2019 16:29

he hasn't shown up yet. I am hoping he comes and does it while I am out. Will leave him a key and tell him he can finish the ironing if he wants too.

Stilllivinginazoo · 19/09/2019 17:31
