Swish through September 2019 with the fledglings - Flylady thread

Let's swish and swipe our way through September, decluttering as we go with the Flylady! We have a mix of old and new fledglings and everyone is welcome to join us for chat and motivation. Thanks to Stressy for running a fabulous August thread!

The Flylady Launch Pad is the place to start each day - each week focuses on a different zone of the house to clean if you have decluttered it first (can't clean clutter) and you can also follow the Babysteps if you'd like to introduce one new element each day and build on that.

If you like to plan in advance, the weekly Sneak Peek will give you advance notice of the missions and zone coming up, it changes each weekend.

The monthly focus for September is making the bed.

Doing a load of laundry now as I forgot to put one in before I went out Blush Did manage to declutter a bagful of items to someone else, and picked up the paperwork I needed. No actual cleaning done yet though.

Saw this meme and thought of myself us

Lisette1940 · 17/09/2019 18:24

Glad there's a lift zoo.

I'm watching 'American Housewife' where the Mom flicks the 'Mom switch' to off. I'm taking notes ( hope you are zoo!)

foxessocks · 17/09/2019 18:27

zoo dd would eat sandwiches at every meal if she could! She is always grumbling that I make her have school dinners so she doesn't get sandwiches and today she said she'd like to build a house from sandwiches 😂

How's the foot now??

I worked today so just a few chores here and there when I needed to have a break away from the computer screen.

The dc are driving me crazy, the screeching!!! And dd has a new attitude with year 1 Hmm even got in trouble at school today which is so unlike her (tbf she is so upset about it so I think she's not a natural rebel Grin)

foxessocks · 17/09/2019 18:29

Lisette that programme sounds up me street...where can I find it I've never heard of it?!

Lisette1940 · 17/09/2019 18:45

It's on W channel on Sky. She's great. She's a normal (sized) Mom in a preppy New England town full of impossibly perfect identikit gym bunny Moms. I think it's funny. I watch it with Ds (10)

Lisette1940 · 17/09/2019 19:00

I've also taken to watching NHK world which is a Japanese news/doc channel. Watching a lot of sumo wrestling!

Stilllivinginazoo · 17/09/2019 20:23

ChicCroissant · 17/09/2019 23:46

Launch Pad link for Wednesday and Babystep about checking Flylady's 11 commandments

I wish I was on top of the laundry. 2 or 3 loads a day and the basket still seems full. I will catch up ....

foxessocks · 18/09/2019 06:53

If my laundry basket is not over flowing with a second pile on the floor then I consider myself on top of the laundry!

ChicCroissant · 18/09/2019 09:23

Morning fledglings! Did do a smidge of zone work in the bathroom last night with a mini-tidy so DD could have a spa bath (battery tealights and candles) to relax last night. Still tired, so may do the same tonight.

First load of laundry in but it's only a small one. Need to post that parcel that I've been avoiding all week (hate the PO!) because I'm out for something else today and will be near the PO. Will get ready to go out and catch you later.

Ha Ha! Love it Foxes brings back memories. Now I rarely fill my basket in the bedroom. The one down here seems full but not sure what with. Going to venture in later. Ah I see... it is DD blankie. Not sure if you can wash them. It is very um loose weave and fluffy. Have to wait and see how the day is first. It is not something you want hanging around wet.

Officially on sick leave. GP has signed me off for a monthShock and said I will see you when I come back from holiday. I have asthma nurse before then so she will keep an eye on me. I think he is off for a fortnight.
I felt really stressed last night so started sorting out my stuff. All old lesson plans shredded.Sorted some Maths stuff for Yr3/4. Teachers can have it if they want. Some PHSE /Nurture stuff that one of the TA's can have and some RE for the teacher that passed me some stuff last year when I was up to my ears in kids and planning. Some photo packs of Buddhism and churches. We are changing curriculum so just keeping my Nurture stuff just now and might visit my tutor with that as Nurture group seems to be defunct so another Nurture Practitioner can have it. My Learning Mentor stuff too. It is a shame but new people new ideas...again.

I see it is the main bathroom...only bathroom in our house and it is tiny. Some shelves for mainly decorative purposes. Photos, which I must change. I have one basket of toiletries and a laundry box which has toiletries in too.You get a lot at school for gifts I haven't bought any for years. DH likes his own shower stuff Dove usually. Otherwise just shelf in shower with immediate stuff on. So should be able to do whole room in an hour or so including washing the very large floor about a metre squaredGrin there are some small mercies.

Right better crack on now I have my tea. Have made a big mess in sitting room so I can clean hall.Sitting room was tidy and clean on Monday.
zoo Glad foot is getting better. Baps were a bargain.
Foxes Our school has sandwiches on the menu and baguettes sometimes.
Lisette That sounds funny.I don't have SKY if DH wants to watch a big match he goes to one of the boys houses. It is a win win for me as it gets him out from under my feet.
Chic thanks for the links it is keeping me busy which is what the GP says I need to do.

Laputa hope you are ok we are missing youFlowers

Waves to all other Fledglings.

Bowerbird5 · 18/09/2019 09:34

Reminds me I need to post a letter thanks.

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/09/2019 10:35

Ta da

School run and shit
Dry washing sorted
Pots washed
Bottles washed and sterilised
Quick tidy round bedroom
Dry washing away

Bower sorry things at work got so bad Sad it really is shit especially when you clearly care about the children very much Flowers

If my laundry basket is empty, i panic. Something must be wrong surely Shock

Bowerbird5 · 18/09/2019 12:39

ThanksI've I do. I think this will be the end. I am decluttering all my stuff just finished. I need to try again as must have lots of duplication to get rid of but tired now. Feel really down today. Going to stay with DS2 tonight. The trouble is I have lots of stuff here as I have no base now. I used to take a few bags back and forth to sort, cut out, stick in and books to mark. Built up lots of resources over the years and need to bin them really but would rather pass them on.so sort nine bags down to three to keep and pass to tutor and two for staff. One to keep. I have done about four hours but doesn't look like it because I was pulling out of one file to build another for someone else. Maybe should just say sod it and have a bonfire.

must vacuum now as messy. Doubled my meds last night so now feeling sleepy. Might need a zoo nap!
You seem to be doing wellI've.

Plan for pm
Vacuum downstairs
Do litter tray before cat wee's on floor. Door open hint hint.
Bathroom blitz
Wash kitchen floor.

ChicCroissant · 18/09/2019 14:10

I did actually message Laputa the other day, she's not doing too bad but having a break from MN - sorry, forgot to mention that! I will keep in touch with her.

My back is aching after sitting on a hard NHS chair for almost two hours waiting for a blood test. Luckily some people got fed up and left I think, because there were over 30 people ahead of me in the blood test queue when I arrived. I just want to lie on the floor for a bit to relax my back, haven't done the other stuff I was planning to do today yet.

Just let me straighten myself out and I'll be back in an hour or so

Bower be kind to yourself Flowers I have two very large baskets of toiletries in the bathroom and have been trying to work through them! I bought the shower gels mostly but me and DD get a lot as gifts as we do love toiletries (and stationery, another thing DD has inherited from me).

School chasing outreach after they told OT DS too young, but school have aChild in his year working with them!!also go share topics covered this term so I can fashion some kind of learning..
I'm to look up autism support groups locally for D's to socialise, chase up paperwork for DLA and ed healthcare plan

Lots going forwards but as I said positive generally

Three loads wash done
Trip Sainsbury's in car with dp
Swept living room and kitchen floors

Very tired now,so sat foot up resting.uts near normal size now and pale pink instead beetroot but still very very itchy!!

Lisette1940 · 18/09/2019 16:13

Bower I'm sorry to hear about work. It Disney sound like a good workplace but you sound fab. Go find somewhere where you are treated properly.

Glad foot is better zoo Sounds like antibiotics are working.

First day in new office. I've gone from office on my own in old building to open plan office in superdooper modern architecture marvel . The people are nice and I like company. I think I'm an introverted pack animal.

The Sky box is totally populated with American football and football. The two males of the household proceed to watch every match. So you not having a Sky box is probably a plus Bower. They claim it's their only vice.

Lisette1940 · 18/09/2019 16:41

Disney - wtaf? 🤣 I meant does not.
