Swish through September 2019 with the fledglings - Flylady thread

Let's swish and swipe our way through September, decluttering as we go with the Flylady! We have a mix of old and new fledglings and everyone is welcome to join us for chat and motivation. Thanks to Stressy for running a fabulous August thread!

The Flylady Launch Pad is the place to start each day - each week focuses on a different zone of the house to clean if you have decluttered it first (can't clean clutter) and you can also follow the Babysteps if you'd like to introduce one new element each day and build on that.

If you like to plan in advance, the weekly Sneak Peek will give you advance notice of the missions and zone coming up, it changes each weekend.

The monthly focus for September is making the bed.

Lisette nurse at docs explained about looking for "tracklines" but said she thinks it'll be ok if stay off it and take antibiotics
Feeling a bit sorry for myself and feels wierd just sitting here....

Lisette1940 · 16/09/2019 14:42

💺⬇️ sit down and no flying pass zoo. Nurse's orders.

TooStressyTooMessy · 16/09/2019 15:04

So glad you got it seen zoo.

Brew and a comfy seat for you and Bower if possible.

Yes lisette I feel on edge about the car too. Just spoke to garage who are “hopeful” it will pass Confused and fingers crossed I can get it at the end of the day although will have to trek DD2 down with me to do that which is not ideal. Hopefully won’t be too late.

On the plus side have managed to do some birthday organising for DH.

.

TooStressyTooMessy · 16/09/2019 15:07

It has passed yay!

Stilllivinginazoo · 16/09/2019 15:47

Yaystressy

I keep looking at the mess but even going for a wee makes me feel poorlyhow long til antibiotics make you feel better??

Lisette1940 · 16/09/2019 15:51

How many days are you on them. I'd say for a week you'd be looking at day 2 perhaps.

Stilllivinginazoo · 16/09/2019 15:53

Lisette two a day for a weekSad

Stilllivinginazoo · 16/09/2019 15:54

DS has camhs tomorrow
We have TAF meeting wed and lil zoo has ballet 40 min walk away thursday

Lisette1940 · 16/09/2019 15:58

If you're not seeing an improvement by day 2/3 and/or feel worse, go back to them. I think you will be on the mend though.

IVEgottheDECAF · 16/09/2019 18:35

Sounds like dp needs to step his game up and take over this week zoo!

Stilllivinginazoo · 16/09/2019 19:04

I'vehahahaha

I have been productive whilst sat with leg in air try not to scratch

Tada
Rang virgin media and changed our package as deal had run out and was extortionate

Rang DLA and arrange claim forms for D's to be sent

Rang dentist and check why DS refer different orthodontist when he knows dd2 one and all staff/building..there's a TWO YEAR WAIT that place now!!Shockthey've said give other option a try and if he can't get on with it will refer dd2 one but I'm understanding will be a long wait!

Ring camhs and leave message asking O.T to ring me(day off Mondays) and asking if she can collect D's and walk him the down road to wellbeing group or we will have to cancel this week's session

I've been procrastinating the first three so pleased at least got something done!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 16/09/2019 22:57

Well done zoo

Bowerbird5 · 16/09/2019 23:07

Toostressy i would indeed like to sit and chat to zoo.🛋

Glad you got it sorted Zoo great anti procrastination.

I spent an hour talking to union rep. Think I feel slightly better.

Been decluttering some of the paperwork. Vacuumed downstairs and dining room table more visible. Wrote some addresses and phone numbers that were on paper into book so I don’t lose them.

Tea was Gammon, new pots, carrots mushrooms with yogurt for pudding. Right meds have kicked in so I am off.

ChicCroissant · 16/09/2019 23:14

Yay for antibiotics and cars passing the MOT today!

My DD was referred for orthodontic treatment while she still had baby teeth, the waiting list was over a year for NHS treatment - took about 16 months actually and that was for an assessment, the waiting lists do seem to be lengthy but I think more children have braces now than I remember.

Flying-wise I am sticking to the two loads of laundry a day (plus sports/dance kit if necessary) and it is working well - I'm putting the dry stuff away faster (to hang the next wet load up) and did some ironing today as well. Considering there are only three of us in the house, I don't know where it all comes from! I've made it worse for myself by forcing encouraging DD to change out of her uniform when she gets home from school.

I'm going to head into the kitchen to wash up a few lunch boxes and non-dishwasher bits and then head for bed.

Launch Pad link for Tuesday and babystep about setting a time to go to bed (obviously not one I stick to if I'm about to start washing up Blush )

Dc1 is going to be referred for orthodontics after our next check up i think. We have been told he definitely qualifies for NHS treatment anyway. He had been worrying about it but his friends have started having things done now so its not as much of an issue now luckily

ExpletiveDelighted · 16/09/2019 23:33

Mine are both under orthodontists. DD is NHS and has just moved to fixed braces after a year of twin blocks. DS is private at a different practice (at our own dentists where he is more familiar and comfortable) and has just started with a removable appliance. I'm finding the appointments a bit of a juggle.

Zoo - I did DLA for DS last year, should have done it years ago but kept procrastinating as I didn't think he'd get it. I found the Cerebra guide very helpful.

Bower - glad you got the time with the union rep, hope you can find a way forward.

Flying - one load of laundry, weekly shop plus bits from Homebase, that's about it.

foxessocks · 17/09/2019 06:55

I barely even remember I have my braces anymore after a pretty awful start so it's absolutely fine, and I've done it twice now 🙄 I think they now have the fixed retainers so that your teeth should stay straight rather than go back like mine did!
I didn't realise about the waiting lists though for the NHS Shock I reckon dd will need braces when she's older as she has the same issue I have of a small jaw so not enough room. The dentist already points it out every time we take her and she's only 5!

Working all day today so won't be doing much in the way of flying.

Stilllivinginazoo · 17/09/2019 07:18

Tada
Up
Hobbles upstairs and fed cats
Yelled dd2 to get up
Sat on lil zoo bed chatting
Yelled dd2 get upand shook her
Came down fed other cat
Hobbled back upstairs
Yelled and shook dd2 and told her not coming up again
Swore all way back downstairs
Made breakfasts other two
Put fire on

I will now go up and be very impatient/rude at 740 knowing she has to leave 745...(with lil zoo or else I go have walk 45 minutes there and backso lil zoo isn't late as that will really upset her and she's too little to cross the fields by herself)

Not the start of the day I needed tbhHmm

ExpletiveDelighted · 17/09/2019 07:18

DD has adjusted quickly to her fixed braces, she got them last week and had to take painkillers for several days but says she barely notices them now. Her biggest frustration has been the realisation that she can't bite her nails now Grin.

Just been out for a little run, I try and do 15 mins every morning, there's a nice circuit from our house, uphill on the way out. Beautiful day, I kept wanting to stop and take photos.

Just waiting for washing to finish for hanging out then need to get ready for work.

Stilllivinginazoo · 17/09/2019 08:02

Tada
Both girls out door, only 5minutes late.dd2 hates me and very nearly lost her phone for 48 hrs
Hoping they come back in half decent moods(dd2 is tired, lil zoo has double p.e with a tyrant teacher that yells so much made one girl cry last week and had a go at lil zoo running efforts forgot her inhaler )

Meanwhile I need do something with front room in case O.T does collect D's for wellbeing group/camhs app there....

ChicCroissant · 17/09/2019 09:03

DD's brace is currently on flexible wires which mean appointments only every 10 or 12 weeks, rigid wires next time which I expect will mean more frequent appointments and pain as it is the rigid wires which really move the teeth. It may have just been adjusting the angle until now (orthodontist tends to chat away to the dental nurse and just throw in the odd bit you should be listening to which keeps me on my toes). DD can already tell the second the orthodontist takes the wires out!

Morning fledglings! I am off out for the morning so will catch you at lunchtime. Will put one load of laundry in to do shortly, have a quick shower and pick up an item while I am out.

Rest that foot, zoo!

Stilllivinginazoo · 17/09/2019 11:52

chic rigid wires near finished dd2 off initiallyshe's much better each tightening now, just day or two living on ibruprofen!(first couple days went in and couple tightening was unable sleep two days solid)now only real discomfort is the band's as she needs just one side and they're "wolves" - small and very resistant so tends wear at night more than in day as ping of yawn/eating etc
Tada
