Swish through September 2019 with the fledglings - Flylady thread

ChicCroissant · 30/08/2019 13:40

Let's swish and swipe our way through September, decluttering as we go with the Flylady! We have a mix of old and new fledglings and everyone is welcome to join us for chat and motivation. Thanks to Stressy for running a fabulous August thread!

The Flylady Launch Pad is the place to start each day - each week focuses on a different zone of the house to clean if you have decluttered it first (can't clean clutter) and you can also follow the Babysteps if you'd like to introduce one new element each day and build on that.

If you like to plan in advance, the weekly Sneak Peek will give you advance notice of the missions and zone coming up, it changes each weekend.

The monthly focus for September is making the bed.

I think 111 zoo. Not medical person but possibly either allergy or cellulitis needing antibiotics.

Bowerbird5 · 15/09/2019 18:49

Did you hurt in in any way? When I first saw it I thought allergic reaction in which case you could take some Piriton if anywhere open. Otherwise A+E or 111 especially if you cant drive and then they may send someone out. They did with me one night though I was expecting Paramedic in Paramedic car (have friend who is paramedic and he has a car as faster) I got a Paramedic alright along with a flashy, sirened ambulance.Blush

Toostressy I had a timed appointment last time *:30 and seen at 10:15pm hhmmmm! Be prepared zoo i never took a book and there was no TV on and no magazines everyone was on their phones I didn't even have that.BORING!

Bowerbird5 · 15/09/2019 18:51

Bowerbird5 · 15/09/2019 18:53

All Fed no one dead Lisette. Needs must sometimes.
Hey were all chatty tonight wine did someone say wine. Saw my old boss today he has a lot to answer for with his bloody early retirement!

Lisette1940 · 15/09/2019 18:55

Ds came up with a rash the day before we were due to fly to the US. Thought he had come down with some sort of pox and then remembered that he'd been hugging a conifer in the garden the day before. Pharmacist confirmed it was an allergy. He's no longer allowed to be a tree hugger!

Stilllivinginazoo · 15/09/2019 19:08

111 call.they said see gp tomorrow!(unless symptoms worsen)it's just itchy AF and hot!probably allergy based.between us all we do have quite an allergic mixture, plus j get contact dermatitis in my hands,so could poss be bits "flora" not normally exposed to reacting.in which case lesson learned.no gardening in flipflops!!

Bowerbird5 · 15/09/2019 20:28

Have you got any anti histamine Zoo? I would take a tablet if you had as it will reduce the itch.

TooStressyTooMessy · 15/09/2019 20:46

Glad you phoned. Definitely go to GP tomorrow if it still looks like that. Antihistamine sounds sensible as Bower suggested and of course if it gets worse call 111 again.

Solitarycaddis · 15/09/2019 21:47

Zoo just seen this. Hope you are ok. I had near enough same thing as result of wasp sting a decade or so ago. Went right up my leg at alarming rate. Treated with Piriton. One tip: (a bit late - sorry!) Doc drew pen line around swelling and said if it went beyond certain point (also drew that point on leg) then to seek more medical help. But might be worth doing if you see this in time so you can track it precisely overnight.

I've so glad you feel better post-birth. You truly are a superwoman as most people feel worse! Grin. And that list is amazing so soon post partum!!! Take it steady! Brew

Sorry you are in pain Chic Flowers

Many congrats to your DH finishing his dissertation Foxes!

Hope you have a better week Bower

Another patent shoe supporter for school! No endless polishing (well a bit maybe) but not nearly as much as with plain leather.

Waves to all fledglings!

Had a really lovely weekend here in the countryside in glorious sunshine! Had friends over yesterday for what turned out to be a rather strenuous (equine) long day followed by barbecue. Then popped in to village after mass today ( feeling a bit crumped) to buy bread to discover local fete was on and everyone was dressed up to the mines, eating moules frites in the town square, and drinking beer to the sound of a brass band. We all perked up again and had a lovely lunch in the sunshine! Then went blackberry picking! Very busy week ahead with 5 am start tomorrow as enormous concrete machine with crane thing arriving (eek) so had better get some shut eye! Sleep well everyone!

Solitarycaddis · 15/09/2019 21:49

Argh. Dressed up to the nines!

ExpletiveDelighted · 15/09/2019 21:59

Zoo - I've learnt never to go to my allotment in sabdsls or with bare legs, too many bitey scratchy things. Last time I went in a skirt I got bitten in the back of the kneee and 24 hours later the swelling was bigger than my hand. It went of its own accord but was very itchy and uncomfy, hope yours improves soon.

Lisette - is your DS allergic to plasters? I am and when I had patch testing for dermatitis on my hands I came up positive for pine resin and the dermatologist explained that pine gum is used in fabric plasters to make them stick and that its a very common allergy.

Well, it has been a hectic but sociable weekend here. Various sports for the DCs, we also took part in a couple of community events and I met up with 3 friends at different times. Not too much Flying achieved but all laundry is done including sheets, towels and school uniform.

The Downton Abbey movie was very entertaining, not quite what I was expecting but thoroughly enjoyable.

Lisette1940 · 15/09/2019 22:23

He's not allergic to plasters expletive but I am - that's really interesting. I shan't be tree hugging either then!

House is tidy now and peace descends.

ChicCroissant · 15/09/2019 23:44

Just about to crawl into bed here, hope the foot has gone down zoo as that looks painful!

Fresh week ahead of us, let's attack it with vigour before it attacks us Grin

Launch pad link, Babystep about reading emails and the zone next week is the Main Bathroom (that's a timely one for me). Monthly habit is the before bed routine.

Sleep well, fledglings!

Quick good morning from me, DH a bit unwell this morning and DD wasn't very well late last night - coincidentially, they had both been out to an event with food earlier in the day so I'm wondering if it is something they have eaten? DD much better this morning though.

Need to get off MN and do some work, back at lunchtime!

Lisette1940 · 16/09/2019 10:10

Zoo's absence looks like she may have got an appointment. Yeah! How it is sorted quickly zoo it looks painful.

I got everything done on my list this morning. Now having tea and a sit down.

ChicCroissant · 16/09/2019 13:37

Be kind to yourself Bower. I am studiously ignoring a package that my DH has left that needs posting, Lisette. So much so, that I am ironing instead Shock

Rang doc,had app nurse for 12.15 but told go to pharmacy meantime.got antihistamine although pharmacist was concerned it red/hot and was pleased had app to be seen.i may complain about boots pharmacist who didn't even look at it yesterday and said would be fine despite me complaining it was hot and swollen.had I not felt but rough I wouldn't have bothered doc just soldiered on!after piriton(and nice nap it induced) I hobble into DP car and he took me.I have an infection(and antibiotics)as it's hot and itchy AF.Can barely get flip flop on it and feel shivery and bit sick when hobbling around.
Ironic considering I got bit by a dog badly four years back down side of my nail bed and got nothing, but few thorn scratches and rolling in grass gives me an elephant foot!!

Lisette1940 · 16/09/2019 14:16

I think both I've and zoo deserve off cleaning passes.

Gosh you were just unlucky zoo. You poor thing. Watch yourself - if you feel much worse again call for help. But I suspect antibiotics will work. Usually Pharmacists err on the side of caution so she/he really should have looked at it.

Reminds me of the time my feet swelled after having ds. I was lucky to have slippers with me because shoes would not have fitted. I looked like I had an 80 year old's feet. All water retention.
