Fledglings awaiting April organisation... and a plan - the Flylady thread

Welcome to the April Flylady thread. This is a lovely friendly thread where we loosely follow the Flylady system (see the Flylady website ) in the hope of having organised homes and lives.

Every day I will post a link to the launchpad which has everything you need for that day if you do want to follow the system strictly. Plenty of options to follow the system more loosely as well :).

Please do familiarise yourself with the Flylady website, especially if you are new. The Flylady is (understandably) keen that people do look at the website.

On the website there is information for beginners. You can also sign up to the Flylady emails but we would advise caution as there are hundreds of them.

We post our achievements (ta das) and our to do lists and any other general chatter about life / flying.

Information on getting started: www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

The launch pad is also a good starting place:www.flylady.net/c/lp.php

Fly stands for Finally Loving Yourself. The general idea is that short bursts of tidying / organisation are more achievable than marathon efforts. Flylady advises 15 minute bursts is effort but you can tweak this to fit your own circumstances.

Be kind to yourselves, jump in where you are and be careful not to crash and burn!

A daily summary (which should update automatically every day) is available on the Flylady website at flight plan here.

The link to the current zone and missions is [[http://www.flylady.net/c/sp.php#missions here].

Re. zones, do what works for you. I don’t always stick to the zones myself and do what works best at the time, with varying degrees of success!

daily focus

missions for the week

Flykids mission

April’s habit is usually making your bed which is a nice easy one Smile.

beginner babysteps.

The best place to look for an overall summary is the launch pad.

Happy flying everyone.

Also a huge thank you to Chic for a lovely March thread as always.

Sounds similar to us. After the front of the house ds's room needs to be done. He developed asthma and an allergy to the carpet in his old bedroom so I moved him to a smaller room which was quicker to clean. It needs a hard floor not carpet. Then the bathroom and cloakroom needs to be done. Like your kitchen our kitchen is hard to keep clean now and I might change the layout. It will be laminate not granite worktops though!

Aww come on, this thread is the warm and cosy corner of MN isn’t it? As said Hills, let’s just all have a cup of tea in the naughty corner, or coffee in the morning and then start again.

Thanks - he's ten! Currently opening the Pokemon cards. He's also been lucky enough to get a bike which he doesn't know how to ride yet.

Shadycorner · 24/04/2019 07:42

Good morning all! Peace and love.

Hope you are ok Hills Flowers

Expletive missed yesterday that your DD enjoyed the kayaking best on scout trips. That's reassuring to know. Only a very few short texts received from DD so far about visiting a chateau with 365 fireplaces (pity the poor sods who had to light and clean them out every day) , so assuming that means all is well Grin.

Stilllivinginazoo · 24/04/2019 07:55

SC imagine scrubbing those, and pity chimney sweep too!!glad DD okFlowers

Lisette happy birthday D's!

I've hope that eases for you.bloody hate toothache

Tada
Pack up
Wash in drier
More in
S+s bathroom
Wash breakfast dishes
Find lil zoo school shoes(FFS she's become like a dart in a trance)
Realise said shoes are disgusting as wore on our travels....

Stilllivinginazoo · 24/04/2019 07:55

*fart,not dart!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/04/2019 08:02

Paracetamol are starting to kick in thank god.

Our ds2 is 10 next month! Then i will have two in double figures. Crazy times. He could do with a bike but his wish list only contains items to do with the playstation Hmm I need to sort him a party. He wants to go paintballing. This is the last party party i have to plan this year thank god as dc4 is still at the tea party with family at home stage!

Ta da

Washer on
Dry pots away
Dryer on

Dd is being a nasty little thing this morning all because dc4 sat on HER chair at the table Hmm will have to keep my eye on her!

Shadycorner · 24/04/2019 09:11

Arf @ "fart in a trance* Zoo! Grin

Bloody hell, toothache is all you need I've. You are certainly going through it this pregnancy. Glad pain killers kicking in. Take it steady Flowers

Hope your DS has a good birthday Lisette

Expletive we're in the same position re decorating in that most is 20 yrs old (although we've had the stairway and hall done since) and dd's room needs doing from scratch (I think the poor girl deserves better than crumbling plaster when she reaches 16 yrs so I'm putting my foot down). Basically, only the downstairs and first floor was done when we moved in and the house gets shabbier and shabbier as you climb the stairs Grin . Our office building (where all the money and energy went) is pristine of course and is painted every two years!

< Fills lungs to capacity and shouts "Come back to us Hillllllllllllls " >

PrincessDanae · 24/04/2019 09:24

I've is it an infection? I managed to get in to see an emergency dentist under NHS (ring 111) and they gave me antibiotics which sorted the infection. Now just waiting for my NHS dentist to get me my standard appointment so that I can get the tooth fixed - but it doesn't hurt anymore.

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/04/2019 09:44

I need a filling, booked in for in twoish weeks. I shouldnt eat biscuits before i brush my teeth but i was trying to not be sick! Blush

Lisette1940 · 24/04/2019 10:16

I think that's very understandable I've. Hope you have a comfortable day as the painkillers work. If you're having trouble now, could they not squeeze you in sooner?

Stilllivinginazoo · 24/04/2019 10:17

I'veFlowersthat's crap lovely.arw yours still on hols?we have set chairs at table to prevent ww3

Discovered D's is getting very rigid with routine.school run,not having girls around he's borderline jibbering wreck today.(any advice cag?)managed get him do but maths after eaten breakfast before drop lil zoo.not sure going to achieve much elseSad

Tada
Grab bread on school run
Get in and realise no bloody milk left.or loo rolls. gah!!
Wash hung on airers
More wash on
Trail D's to local shops
Rembered I had planned get an umbrella,so picked one up

Now home trying out n vain get D's bit calmer
May go out into back garden and trip grass near where ground feed to prevent scoutcat ambushing the lovely blackbirds we have visiting at present...

Stilllivinginazoo · 24/04/2019 10:18

**trim.i no intention of trip grass,or even tripping out on grass!!Confused

Shadycorner · 24/04/2019 11:00

Sorry your ds still struggling so much Zoo that's utterly crap for him (and you) Sad

Just been in touch with Hills and she is taking a break from social media at the moment as rl all a bit intense currently. The good news is that she'll be back later when things calm down a bit.

[Going to hold you to that Hills Smile ]

Dh and I went on lovely dog walk this morning (another beautiful day) and now I need to get on. But I am anxious (thank you menopause) and dithering (no ruddy excuse Blush ) which is stupid. Sigh.

Must pull me finger 'aaat.

Stilllivinginazoo · 24/04/2019 11:14

Good to hear hills will be returning, she does have such a lot on her plate

Trimmed some of grass to prevent ambush on birds, but I've some flowers popping up I reluctant to cu so need beg, borrow or scavenge a trowel/spade in next couple days and move them!!

Shadycorner · 24/04/2019 13:57

We'll dither together Zoo Smile (Indeed re: Hills)

Feck. Just received a text from dd saying "22k kayjak route reduced to 6k owing to very poor weather conditions". [Wibble]
