Fledglings awaiting April organisation... and a plan - the Flylady thread

Welcome to the April Flylady thread. This is a lovely friendly thread where we loosely follow the Flylady system (see the Flylady website ) in the hope of having organised homes and lives.

Every day I will post a link to the launchpad which has everything you need for that day if you do want to follow the system strictly. Plenty of options to follow the system more loosely as well :).

Please do familiarise yourself with the Flylady website, especially if you are new. The Flylady is (understandably) keen that people do look at the website.

On the website there is information for beginners. You can also sign up to the Flylady emails but we would advise caution as there are hundreds of them.

We post our achievements (ta das) and our to do lists and any other general chatter about life / flying.

Information on getting started: www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

The launch pad is also a good starting place:www.flylady.net/c/lp.php

Fly stands for Finally Loving Yourself. The general idea is that short bursts of tidying / organisation are more achievable than marathon efforts. Flylady advises 15 minute bursts is effort but you can tweak this to fit your own circumstances.

Be kind to yourselves, jump in where you are and be careful not to crash and burn!

A daily summary (which should update automatically every day) is available on the Flylady website at flight plan here.

The link to the current zone and missions is [[http://www.flylady.net/c/sp.php#missions here].

Re. zones, do what works for you. I don’t always stick to the zones myself and do what works best at the time, with varying degrees of success!

April’s habit is usually making your bed which is a nice easy one Smile.

beginner babysteps.

The best place to look for an overall summary is the launch pad.

Happy flying everyone.

Also a huge thank you to Chic for a lovely March thread as always.

Happy Easter! I'm still in bed and the DCs are downstairs watching tv under a duvet. We do our egg hunting later, they are allowed their main egg when they get up and we do fun hunts with plastic eggs on and off during the day (we take turns to hide the eggs round the garden, we've never done clues).

Bunny war Grin

My dc have done 2 egg hunts already this year at various friends and families houses so I feel like I'm off the hook! Instead the Easter bunny just rings the doorbell and leaves some on the doorstep...the dc try and catch him every year. This year dd set up an entire surveillance system. Still didn't get him though Grin think dh may have done himself an injury trying to get back through the back gate in time

The dc have had another reaction to sun cream so their faces are all red and ds is also a bit puffy Sad feel like this happens every year now. Both are wearing huge hats in the garden now but they won't be able to stay out in the sun too much today.

TooStressyTooMessy · 21/04/2019 11:28

foxes I’ve never used it but have you tried a big Boots store? They have those suncare advisors in store or at least they used to.

It is too hot outside today. I can't believe I'm typing those words. Green bin is full so can't cut the hedges anyway. That'll have to wait until next week. Planted pansies and up up a hanging basket. Weeded. I'm done.

Lisette1940 · 21/04/2019 12:27

Put up, I meant. Happy Easter to all. All chocolate calorie free today, apparently Wink

TooStressyTooMessy · 21/04/2019 16:40

Ah yes calorie free today!

Hope all ok; no flying today. Will be back on with launch pad link later.

Zoo I am dying at 'bunny war' Grin

foxessocks · 21/04/2019 19:38

Thanks toostressy I didn't know about that actually. I looked in my cupboard and last year's sun cream is a superdrug one and hardly any left so it must have been ok! So looks like we need a trip to town tomorrow. I have also now come out in a rash all up my arms. I always get it in the sun and especially when it's the first proper heat of the year. My skin needs time to get used to it!

Never mind, other than that we've had a nice day. Cooked the best ever roast beef and made some decisions with dh on how to redecorate our living room.

Hope everyone has had a nice Easter day 🐰

Happy Easter

Gorgeous weather here.
Funny how we (lots of us) leave it until the last minute. I was making a Easter bonnet while I ate my hot cross buns this morning. I used to make rhyming clues. Lovely flowers on the alter today but couldn’t help but think they must have cost a fortune. We used to put daffy on previously. This priest has a florist do Christmas and Easter.

Had a lovely Roast Lamb dinner outside which is a first.
Spent the afternoon in the garden. I dozed off but next doors dog woke me up 🤬
Planning to do lots of sorting stay, charity shop, rebike, tip!
Then pruning and weeding.

TooStressyTooMessy · 21/04/2019 20:55

I’m not 100% sure foxes so check before you make a special trip.

Belated waves even though everyone else is asleep by now!

We get DD to decorate polystyrene eggs, she hides them and does a quiz for us - then we return the favour. We do get choc eggs as well though.

Last day of the holidays tomorrow, it goes too quickly for me every time.

foxessocks · 22/04/2019 07:23

Thanks I've

Lisette1940 · 22/04/2019 07:29

School today for ds. No bank holiday up here. Off to get computer fixed.

TooStressyTooMessy · 22/04/2019 08:36

Hope your DS has a good day at school lisette after all the days off!

Last day of the holidays here too. Can’t say it has gone too quick Grin but we have enjoyed them which is good.

Bloody holiday homework to finish this afternoon Angry.

On the way back from my parents. One of the least stressful visits ever with DH and the kids ShockSmileShockSmile.

OP posts:
Stilllivinginazoo · 22/04/2019 08:47

That's great news about visit stressy

I didn't even spot bunny ears til just now, stupid phone autocorrect .make me lose my shirt

Cagliostro · 22/04/2019 09:42

Yay stressy that’s fab.

Hope everyone had a nice day. We did, it is nice for Caglets to have their little cousin to play with (just... a little more notice would be nice 🙄😂) and we spent a good while at the park. TBH we would’ve spent the day lazing in front of the telly otherwise. And it meant we cleared up a bit.

Still need to talk to DH about the fact we need to do more with the Caglets. Particularly how to fit it in with home ed stuff (we are “back to school” this week) - Caglets are so much better at just cracking on with whatever work we give them now, which is great of course! But it also means we end up staying in a bit too much because they don’t complain about it. It’s amazing how home ed stuff is constantly changing. 🤯

Not really sure what the plan is today.

Lisette1940 · 22/04/2019 11:03

Welcome to tropical north-east Scotland 🌴🍹. Where it's not a bank holiday but the banks are closed in solidarity with their southern branches. So I can't lodge a cheque.

Lisette1940 · 22/04/2019 13:20

Foxes someone on another thread recommended this sun cream www.medino.com/product/childs-farm-50-spf-sun-cream-unfragranced-125ml?gclid=EAIaIQobChMImvTphdbj4QIVz7_tCh2KbAByEAQYAyABEgLZh_D_BwE

foxessocks · 22/04/2019 15:00

Thank you Lisette Smile

Today we've been putting together some new IKEA furniture and rearranging our spare room. So my usual Monday clean has sort of gone out the window. I can't see the floors for boxes so I can't hoover, the dc are in and out of the garden so I can mop the kitchen, and I can't get to much of the furniture to dust. So I've made the excuses and instead I'm going to eat some more chocolate and have a Brew

Oh and today I went wild and bought two reduced Easter eggs in Sainsbury's! Grin

Also returned some clothes that didn't fit and bought my nephew a get well soon present as he's poorly at the moment.

foxessocks · 22/04/2019 15:01

I can't mop the kitchen

Stilllivinginazoo · 22/04/2019 16:12

Survived 5hour walk in countryside and forest!
Dd1 pop by on way back from Easter weekend away and drop us eggs/rock/fudge
I badly need clear up but now I've stopped....

ChicCroissant · 22/04/2019 17:39

Afternoon! Had a day out at the large Mall nearby, lovely day for wandering around. Got home a bit later than planned due to traffic so another late tea tonight Blush as we have another roast planned. Could always hack a bit off if we get too hungry but did have a larger lunch out than planned too.

Can't believe everything will be back to normal tomorrow Sad will get everything ready tonight so tomorrow morning is calm. Well, calm-ish.

Back later to catch up.
