Fledglings awaiting April organisation... and a plan - the Flylady thread

Welcome to the April Flylady thread. This is a lovely friendly thread where we loosely follow the Flylady system (see the Flylady website ) in the hope of having organised homes and lives.

Every day I will post a link to the launchpad which has everything you need for that day if you do want to follow the system strictly. Plenty of options to follow the system more loosely as well :).

Please do familiarise yourself with the Flylady website, especially if you are new. The Flylady is (understandably) keen that people do look at the website.

On the website there is information for beginners. You can also sign up to the Flylady emails but we would advise caution as there are hundreds of them.

We post our achievements (ta das) and our to do lists and any other general chatter about life / flying.

Information on getting started: www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

The launch pad is also a good starting place:www.flylady.net/c/lp.php

Fly stands for Finally Loving Yourself. The general idea is that short bursts of tidying / organisation are more achievable than marathon efforts. Flylady advises 15 minute bursts is effort but you can tweak this to fit your own circumstances.

Be kind to yourselves, jump in where you are and be careful not to crash and burn!

*
A daily summary (which should update automatically every day) is available on the Flylady website at flight plan here.

The link to the current zone and missions is [[http://www.flylady.net/c/sp.php#missions here].

Re. zones, do what works for you. I don’t always stick to the zones myself and do what works best at the time, with varying degrees of success!

daily focus

missions for the week

Flykids mission

April’s habit is usually making your bed which is a nice easy one Smile.

beginner babysteps.

The best place to look for an overall summary is the launch pad.

Happy flying everyone.

Also a huge thank you to Chic for a lovely March thread as always.

ta da
make cake x2
x1 laundry
x1 hand wash
disassemble tank 1 and deep clean lid, water change, filter clean
disassemble tank 2, help ds to clean filter - throw towels at ds to contain mess
trip into next town to get a thing - that they didn't have
Buy curtains - except the sales assistant brought back wrong style so need to return and swap
washing up
Strain bramble vinegar and calculate how much sugar needed to finish it off
Go to 2 fish shops
re-landscape the two tanks with various bits and bobs
Food shopping
sort out plans for tomo
look at to do list and want to cry as it is getting loner not shorter.
Make fatal mistake of sitting down...
Put in internet order
play hunt the pass word list
clear out a few emails and give up quickly
Find schedule for planning
sort out another load of washing and get running
Get dishwasher running
Sort out everything for going off line for a while

Right you horrible lot. That is me for a while. I will be back but not for a week, I have stuff to do and turning the internet off is the best way to get it done. Try not to implode, explode or end up in Jail.
may you have lovely easters and not have family issues that are unsolvable.

See you in a week! don't panic Mr Mannering

Pedi egg didn't work for me unfortunately. Hooves 🐎 - only the foot file works for me!

TooStressyTooMessy · 19/04/2019 21:25

Bye Hills, hope you have a good Easter too.

I’ve been using some cracked heel cream I got in Aldi (alternative to the brand name one) and it is surprisingly good, as is the Flexitol one.

lisette we are still on school holidays here; I think it must be strange to have gone back then straight away off for Easter.

Glad all good with scan Ive Smile.

Expletive, I find the opposite; I get so much less done in school holidays. Not just because I lose any child free time but because we are home more so the house gets more untidy. And if not the house, the garden. What’s your secret?!

Sounds as if aquafit is really good Cag.

Ok here so far! Am tired though and both kids still awake.

toostressy it's madness. And I didn't realise he'd be off school today. An old lady mentioned to me on the bus earlier this week! Endless work juggling with DH.

Need to get Easter tree up and the wreath.

Bowerbird5 · 20/04/2019 07:02

Caught up on yesterday’s posts. Zoo your church visits sound lovely.
I went to service at 3 pm then went on Walk of Witness from another church to a small shrine. It is the warmest day we have ever had. 71 people walking and a few joined nearer with a short walk for toddlers and those that couldn’t walk far parked near the shrine so I think over 100 which is the most we have ever had since I have been going. The children all got to sit in the shrine area on a kerb to keep them safe. The rest outside the corner and we sang hymns and Father said a few prayers. We had three priests come and some Knights of St. Columba who organise it and marshal the roads. No mean feat as we have to cross a roundabout and a busy A road. It was lovely and there were about 20-25 children the most we’ve had. Father thanked them as some had come the day before and cleared several bags of rubbish up.

Neighbours were quiet all day on one side the other lot got their window in. No noise from them yet and it is seven.

Stilllivinginazoo · 20/04/2019 07:17

bower that's amazing numbers!!our trip of local churches all run good Friday events at 10am,so until zoolets are too big for that we can't do walk of witness!!
The second church visit I got told they had no children there doing mini Easter gardens activity as there was an egg hunt in the pocket park next door same time.they said had we known we would've bought the children to make gardens then done the hunt...the gardens at Saint Johns has been an activity going on for like forever on good Fridays

Tada
Cats fed
Cat vomit/furball scrubbed off landing carpet

Grab fat ball from wilko, and nip home bargain to stock up for lunch box bits

IVEgottheDECAF · 20/04/2019 08:06

cag we are debating names, i have ordered a few bits clothes wise, and am umming and ahhing over a pram!

zoo dp would not be up for that! My issue with "try again to give her a sister" is what if it doesnt work? What if she gets a fifth brother? Shock

I need to get on with shit but i ate easter egg and it made me spew Hmm

ExpletiveDelighted · 20/04/2019 08:08

Stressy - it used to be that way when they were younger, but now they are teenagers they are either out, on screens or doing homework, with only occasional mess-creation (DD still likes a bit of craft and DS still messes about doing things like making card towers). If we are all at home I can go out without them, on my work days they largely stay at home now - usually do a couple of days sports camp or similar but no full day childcare. Then once I'm home that's it for the evening, whereas in termtime I quite often have to pick one up from school around 5.30 (stay late for sport/study/rehearsal and no school buses that late, no public transport). Then it's a full on routine of lifts to swimming/football/drama etc and my own classes/meetings, most of which stop in the holidays.

So, today we are at DFIL's, so no Flying.

TooStressyTooMessy · 20/04/2019 08:25

Morning fledglings.

Bower Grin at noticing zoo being first.

Ah that makes sense Expletive, thanks.

Ive, Angry at Easter egg spewing.

Well we are off for a ‘family fun day’ today Hmm. It’s at a big place (think National Trust type) which is great for kids so at least that’s good and we have been loads before. The summer struggle of keeping DD1 safe in the sun / out of too much sun has begun though as she really does catch it easily.

Can’t hide in my room any longer so must get up and on.

Have a great day everyone (if possible!).

Bowerbird5 · 20/04/2019 09:23

Toostressy yeah I am quite clever😬
Hope you enjoy your day it sounds lovely.

Shame about summer house as we could be playing aboutwith it and I was wanting to make a little garden around it. DH had to take turfs off yesterday and we are going to ask the guys to move it on Wednesday. I think neighbours will still see it as a problem. We might grow clematis or a tree to screen it from there view. I don’t know what they will do about the eyesore of an extension or the garage next to our fence which remains unpainted on our side which makes it look even worse.
DD and I will start on veggie garden instead and get that sorted. Need to get potatoes and usually don’t plant till clout of May is out but maybe we could start earlier this year. Report back later.

TooStressyTooMessy · 20/04/2019 14:18

Back from day out with grandparents. Was ok really! Am encouraging some playing in the house as both girls have had enough sun for a bit.

To do:-
Sort out stuff from trip out
Make late lunch

foxessocks · 20/04/2019 15:18

Afternoon!

I burn ridiculously easy. I do love being outside on a nice day but it does take the fun out of it a bit having to constantly worry about sun cream and hats (and now I'm even more worried because of the dc!!).

I've been a proper grump today Sad

Starting to feel better now as have done some mad tidying. My mood is so effected by my surroundings!

Off to find some chocolate to scoff...

Cagliostro · 20/04/2019 15:31

We painted some of the fence today. It’s been part done since before we moved in as a friend (sort of extra grandparent to Caglets) started us off. We’ve run out of Cuprinol so will have to get more but at least a coat is on over half now. Problem is I have to go painstakingly slowly on the right hand side of the garden, because of the way the panelling works, if I put too much on at once it will drip through the gaps to the neighbours side.

Stilllivinginazoo · 20/04/2019 16:37

CagStarwith fence painting

Tada
More washing done and dry
More in
Walk D's to get choc fudge hot X buns.i may have bought more than just enough for Sunday school.i may also have bought a bar of chocolate as tomorrow is a Loooong way away when I want my black magic NOWGrin

I'm planning a cool shower hair wash and pampering starting at 5.30 so I need chivvy along and finish tasks still to do!!

TooStressyTooMessy · 20/04/2019 16:46

Well done on fence painting Cag.

YY foxes re stressing about sun spoiling summer. Tbh I hate summer anyway (I know, I am miserable) but the faffing with cream, hats, DC adds another layer of hate.

Love the photo SC.

I like the beginning of summer when there is hope and optimism! A beer garden and a glass of wine. Then in come the wasps, sun burn and sweatiness and I get a bit fed up! Grin I'm a joy too toostressy
