Fledglings awaiting April organisation... and a plan - the Flylady thread

TooStressyTooMessy · 31/03/2019 10:12

Welcome to the April Flylady thread. This is a lovely friendly thread where we loosely follow the Flylady system (see the Flylady website ) in the hope of having organised homes and lives.

Every day I will post a link to the launchpad which has everything you need for that day if you do want to follow the system strictly. Plenty of options to follow the system more loosely as well :).

Please do familiarise yourself with the Flylady website, especially if you are new. The Flylady is (understandably) keen that people do look at the website.

On the website there is information for beginners. You can also sign up to the Flylady emails but we would advise caution as there are hundreds of them.

We post our achievements (ta das) and our to do lists and any other general chatter about life / flying.

Information on getting started: www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

The launch pad is also a good starting place:www.flylady.net/c/lp.php

Fly stands for Finally Loving Yourself. The general idea is that short bursts of tidying / organisation are more achievable than marathon efforts. Flylady advises 15 minute bursts is effort but you can tweak this to fit your own circumstances.

Be kind to yourselves, jump in where you are and be careful not to crash and burn!

*
A daily summary (which should update automatically every day) is available on the Flylady website at flight plan here.

The link to the current zone and missions is [[http://www.flylady.net/c/sp.php#missions here].

Re. zones, do what works for you. I don’t always stick to the zones myself and do what works best at the time, with varying degrees of success!

daily focus

missions for the week

Flykids mission

April’s habit is usually making your bed which is a nice easy one Smile.

beginner babysteps.

The best place to look for an overall summary is the launch pad.

Happy flying everyone.

Also a huge thank you to Chic for a lovely March thread as always.

Argh zoo what does this dweeb actually bring to your life? :(

I had a bad day mostly just in shutdown mode. Apologised to DH but not required, he gets it, London (and the visit to mum’s generally) totally wore me out both physically and mentally. It’s really helping me learn more about my issues now that I also do the gym stuff and don’t get so worn out after that kind of thing thankfully.

Went to aqua fit again, first time I’d moved all day really, was a much better class

Lisette1940 · 17/04/2019 22:18

Swift 👢 to said 'd'p rear end on your behalf zoo Angry Sorry to hear about the polyp. Hope the follow up goes well.

Lisette1940 · 17/04/2019 22:35

Dinner was sausage rolls, salad veg, egg mayo with paprika and bread. Ds ate the sausage rolls and pushed veg around the plate. Easy dinners all round and why not?

Stilllivinginazoo · 18/04/2019 07:24

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/04/2019 07:49

Ty for all the scan well wishes! I think the pregnancy is going fairly quickly but just down to how busy the rest of my life is! I remember the later weeks dragging more previously anyway so we will see!

Zoo Flowers it just always seems to be same old same old with him, very selfish behaviour. Hope the smear follow up goes ok. I have to have my smear done after baby is born. Oh the joy.

I absolutely love the word dweeb lol where the fuck did you remember that from cag?

Lisette1940 · 18/04/2019 07:57

hills try the underwear drawer like yesterday. Other option under the sofa or bed.

PrincessDanae · 18/04/2019 11:19

Flipping heck Hills, what time were you up? Impressive TaDa list.

I am making the most of school holidays and was up with the boys late watching a movie. For some reason i HAVE to go to bed later than they do, so ended up going to bed way too late, and have had a long sleep in. So nothing done at all....

ChicCroissant · 18/04/2019 11:38

hills have you slept or stayed up all night to do that much!

Not dressed and still on sofa Blush Will shower and press on!

TooStressyTooMessy · 18/04/2019 12:28

Just at the park with DDs, about to make a move as it is hot today!! DD1

I can sympathise with needing to go to bed later Princess. Also with the pushing veg around the plate lisette

Hope it goes ok today Ive. That makes sense with it firing quickly if so busy!

Waves to Cag, SC, zoo and everyone else.

What can I say ive I’m old school :o

I hit the shops alone this morning, including getting my gym/swim bags and towels.

I think I’m still tired, I just had a panic moment and asked the Caglets where the baby was (DH and DSS were leaving and the front door was open)

She was still on my lap.

foxessocks · 18/04/2019 15:45

bit behind on the thread sorry!

I need to motivate myself to cook dinner soon...must not resort to fishfingers because I've got loads of random veg to use up! Going to make some sort of mexican beany thing and throw in whatever I can find in the fridge. And then try and persuade the kids to eat it Confused hence why fish fingers seems an easier option Grin

We went out this morning with a friend, she left early because her three year old was misbehaving but he seemed to be quite normal to me Confused. Which makes me wonder if my standards are very low!

foxessocks · 18/04/2019 15:47

cag Grin I do that fairly often with ds! Have a panic, wonder where he is then look down and realise he's in his pushchair...also once on the way home from nursery with empty pushchair and panicked then realised I'd just dropped him off not picked him up! 🤦 I think I'm on my own planet sometimes.

MogTheSleepyCat · 18/04/2019 17:17

Afternoon fledglings, and welcome to PrincessD

Hope the scan went well I've

Zoo Flowers Gin Sounds like your man-child DP does little other than add to your problems. I also have mental health difficulties and 'opting out' of child rearing and family life/responsibilities just isn't an option! There might be the odd day, but not in the way you are describing.

Cagliostro · 18/04/2019 17:23

Foxes :o

Just got back from the park. Took the three of them and nobody died :o yay! Did have to wrestle the baby back into the buggy in the end but it was fine. Feel much better for the fresh air. DD1 was reeeeally complaining when I suggested it but she had a great time too

Cagliostro · 18/04/2019 17:46

Mog I think that may be fairly par for the course with most six year olds but... well I wouldn’t know because I’ve never had a non autistic 6yo 😂 however I would think it’s normal at that age as they wouldn’t have necessarily developed the empathy to realise not everyone wants to hear what they say. An older child should have but 6 is still quite little, I guess it’s the excessive nature of it that’s the difference though, so even if it’s standard 6yo behaviour maybe he’s doing it way more than most?

Sympathy though because fucking hell if I hear one more Harry Potter factoid I am actually going to cry.

Stilllivinginazoo · 18/04/2019 18:05

cag I hear that.i persuaded D's to come to Easter event at local nature reserve "hub"(called the barn.well it was once used as one I think).they had a man with giant snails, stick insects, frogs, snakes etc to hold.his insect knowledge is second to none and he LOVED the stick insects.i was "treated" to a twenty minute fact torture exchange .I love his enthusiasm but my poor brain/ears😂

So today
DS freaked DP was gone
Breakfast
Cleaned church ready for Easter, incl brasses
Took zoolets on errand run(45mins each way)
Got back,had lunch
Dd2 went meet old friend from primary at ice cream parlour.we went to " the barn" followed by walk ending up at a Tesco express an hour from home for ice lollies and few bits then back via co op as D's don't do dry fruit do I wanted get him mini fudge chocolate hot X buns they do.got in at 430,realised no milk in house...
Convince dd2 walk with me,leaving D's (I needed break) we strolled local shop front
Now cooking pasta for a salad with chickpeas, tomatoes and cucumber
Off to Maundy service just after 7 so need get skates on..
House tip.need do some chores tomorrow!!

Bowerbird5 · 18/04/2019 18:41

Hi Mog nice to see you😁
It is normal behaviour x it by 24 in one class and 19 in the other and welcome to my world nearly every morning and one afternoon😬

I’ve a scan how exciting. Hope all is well.

Zoo tell him to go home one less problem. DH is actually being quite nice at the moment.

I got most of the bathroom done yesterday. Changed the knob on a cheap small set of drawers and should have done it sooner they look ace. Bright pot fish knobs. I cleaned out the basket and chucked out anything I hadn’t used in last year but not soap. Put all the nearly finished body lotion in order to use it up. Then washed basin, shower tray and loo and asked DH to do the shower screen as it hurts my wrist a lot. He didn’t know where the stuff was or what to use...guess who cleans it the most.

Neighbours have complained about the summerhouse and we have had to get info and stopped work. We need to move it 2 metres from the boundary and the fence is awkward because DH let them have that bit of land. I am so bloody upset. It should have been finished today. It has to be taken to pieces and moved. I am not changing position. They had the cheek to ask us to move it to another part of the garden.it was designed for there.🤬

TooStressyTooMessy · 18/04/2019 20:12

Cag Grin at her in your arms. I think lots of us are on our own planets too foxes Grin.

Almost all 6 year olds I know like to talk Mog, at length about their favourite things. They also get most annoyed when this is interrupted!

Bower, how stressful for you FlowersGin.

Glad you got DS to the event zoo.

Both DDs having some tablet time now while I try to pack. Can feel the familiar stress of visiting my parents taking hold. Will it ever get easier Confused?!

HillsBesideTheSea · 18/04/2019 20:32

I was up at half six (well sort of, got out of bed at 7am and just flew through to do list)

Some idiot has just life the wood fire. It is like 50billion degrees out there well 19C Angry If you are cold open a fecking window during the day you KNOW how this house stays cold against the heat. Angry

Lisette1940 · 18/04/2019 20:37

My 9 year old talks constantly, running commentaries on this and that. Stops when eating or sleeping. It's exhausts me because I'm quite hard of hearing and keeping up can be hard.
