Fledglings awaiting April organisation... and a plan - the Flylady thread

Welcome to the April Flylady thread. This is a lovely friendly thread where we loosely follow the Flylady system (see the Flylady website ) in the hope of having organised homes and lives.

Every day I will post a link to the launchpad which has everything you need for that day if you do want to follow the system strictly. Plenty of options to follow the system more loosely as well :).

Please do familiarise yourself with the Flylady website, especially if you are new. The Flylady is (understandably) keen that people do look at the website.

On the website there is information for beginners. You can also sign up to the Flylady emails but we would advise caution as there are hundreds of them.

We post our achievements (ta das) and our to do lists and any other general chatter about life / flying.

Information on getting started: www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

The launch pad is also a good starting place:www.flylady.net/c/lp.php

Fly stands for Finally Loving Yourself. The general idea is that short bursts of tidying / organisation are more achievable than marathon efforts. Flylady advises 15 minute bursts is effort but you can tweak this to fit your own circumstances.

Be kind to yourselves, jump in where you are and be careful not to crash and burn!

A daily summary (which should update automatically every day) is available on the Flylady website at flight plan here.

The link to the current zone and missions is [[http://www.flylady.net/c/sp.php#missions here].

Re. zones, do what works for you. I don’t always stick to the zones myself and do what works best at the time, with varying degrees of success!

daily focus

missions for the week

Flykids mission

April’s habit is usually making your bed which is a nice easy one Smile.

beginner babysteps.

The best place to look for an overall summary is the launch pad.

Happy flying everyone.

Also a huge thank you to Chic for a lovely March thread as always.

Up to E cup? 😭 I am going to bravissimo at some point as they are good for me but it’s a trek down to Brighton I could do without.

And Oh nooo to early guests. Always messes me up for the day when that happens.

I’ve escaped, mainly from the baby boob monster.

Cagliostro · 10/04/2019 13:48

To the pub I mean, not just generally :o

Stilllivinginazoo · 10/04/2019 15:00

hills my dd1 has reverse problem.shes as 28F...
I need new bras.i hate bra shopping.at my age and ample bosom size the structural support could be best described as scaffoldingGrin

Shadycorner · 10/04/2019 16:18

Another one large of nork checking in. Bravissimo and Figleaves on-line all the way for me. Frankly you can barely fit your big toe in the standard size bras sold here. And I am done with schlepping to the shops and wrestling in changing rooms. Sorry your experience was so 'orrid though Hills have a large cup of Brew and a slice of Cake.

Good luck with the sorting Lordoftheflies!

Sorry you've been ill Mog hope you have a lovely restful holiday x

Chic what is it with teens and pyjamas nowadays? They seem to be welded to their bodies!

Ta da:
sorted laundry
had long and complicated and sometimes heated discussion with dh about renovations/finances/architects who never replies to emails/pensions/wills/savings and other rather worryingly adult things
dog walk in lovely sunshine
emptied dw
quick schlep to supermarket
drove dd to art shop for project work supplies and returned slightly poorer
spoke to guy doing controle technique on my car (sorry can't remember English term) tired

Have I touched the wretched boudoir yet? I have bloomin' not!

ChicCroissant · 10/04/2019 16:18

I have the opposite problem to the rest of you bra-wise, but get annoyed when the straps start slipping and falling down. That drives me mad.

Some laundry done today, also went shopping but forgot to put one item on the list so obviously short there!

Also went to chazza and picked up some Wii games including a DJ one that had the turntable but not the game inside! Bah! Will now have to find the game separately, it was probably still a bargain though!

Shadycorner · 10/04/2019 16:19

Same here Zoo need scaffolding and flying buttresses here ... .

HillsBesideTheSea · 10/04/2019 16:29

Bastarding bravissimo Bras don't fit me. they are the wrong sodding shape. The english are an odd shape

foxessocks · 10/04/2019 17:15

chic I was just starting to feel left out of the club! Grin I also have the opposite problem. I have a ridiculously narrow back too.

TooStressyTooMessy · 10/04/2019 17:32

Big wing flaps to lord, SC, Hills, Cag, zoo, Chic, foxes and everyone else.

I’m with you foxes and Chic. We can start our own club Grin.

How’s lil zoo’s wrist zoo?

Right, finished work and am almost home, just stopped before I actually get in the house to update this thread so had best get on.

Fingers are start swell a little stressy
Back to icing/cold flannels and elevation....

Stilllivinginazoo · 10/04/2019 17:45

Ice in towel, not sugar coating obvs.....

TooStressyTooMessy · 10/04/2019 18:07

As you all know (I hope!) I’m careful about giving medical advice on here and A&E is not my speciality anyway... but it sounds as if she might need it looking at.

OP posts:
foxessocks · 10/04/2019 18:44

I missed what happened to her wrist zoo ? Sorry. Hope she is okay.

I have just argued with dh about mini cheesecakes Blush and then I cried. He hinted about me "perhaps feeling a little more emotional than usual" his way of saying PMS without actually saying it. Damn I hate it when he's right. Grin

I'm wallowing in my own self pity downstairs while he does the kids bath.

Stilllivinginazoo · 10/04/2019 19:00

Daft mare try jump a playpen style fence and clip it with toe.crash down on back wrist yesterday at wellbeing group at church.her biggest issue is can't play Minecraft on Xboxshe ate her dinner(pasta with cheese, green beans and tomatoes) with fingers as can't control cutlery too well with "wrong" hand!!(rarely uses knife so holds fork in right hand normally)
She's been learn draw left hand(excellent artist with right)today.its only painful if tries move it/Knocks it
I suspect tomorrow will involve a trip to some medical advice....

foxessocks · 10/04/2019 19:45

Oh no zoo hope it gets better quickly. Medical advise will at least put your mind at rest!

Lisette1940 · 10/04/2019 20:30

Bravissimo for me too. Norkage counts as insulation up here. Prevents us from freezing to death.

Laundry X 7 today post holiday.

TooStressyTooMessy · 10/04/2019 20:47

Eek good luck with laundry lisette. Grin at insulation.

Definitely sounds as if her wrist needs checking then zoo.

That does sound as if it needs looking at zoo, do you have any minor injury/urgent care centres near you? They are good with fractures (or sprains if it turns out to be that). I take DD there more frequently than I'd like to admit rather that A&E.

Shadycorner · 11/04/2019 00:51

Fark. Looks like it's going to be an interesting Halloween then Confused. If nothing significant happens before then anyway end June for example.

Shadycorner · 11/04/2019 00:52

And no I still haven't touched the boudoir...

Shadycorner · 11/04/2019 00:55

Norkage counts as insulation up here.

Lisette1940 · 11/04/2019 00:56

Looks like we've got some respite SC. Close to the wire though. And breathe....

Ordered cottagey accessories for house so I can kid myself that I live in one and not a 1990s Wimpey home

Shadycorner · 11/04/2019 01:37

Indeed Lisette although I suspect more shenanigans along the way!

Accessories sound nice! I do the same thing with cushions; to try and pretend we live in a vaguely civil manner. Then a dog chews them and I wondered why I bothered!

HillsBesideTheSea · 11/04/2019 08:01

Not sure how the hell you call it respite! Now we will be up for all the political manuevering to oust May that started a few weeks ago WITHOUT ANY option for resolution. NOONE wants to deal with a spoilt brat who spoils the party! NOONE wants to be the person responsible for the breaking of the good friday agreeement! No one can deliver Brexit as was voted for - NO controls by Europe, no paying europe money and closed boarders. NOW hell ramps up. This is not Respite this is tearing a plaster of really really slowly!!!
