No delayed exit for clutter - March Flylady Thread 2019 for fledglings!

What would a combo of exit and clutter be, clexit? Exclutter? Perhaps we should just stick with declutter ....

Welcome to the March Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in March. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

I don't like either of them so definitely not for me!

Not a good morning here. Ds has been misbehaving and having tantrums all morning. Wouldn't get in the car for toddler group insisted he wanted to walk there (we can't walk there it's too far on a busy road with no path!) so I was very patient and said fine we won't go then and just sat and waited. Then he put his hand in a box of grass seed for the millionth time despite me telling him to leave it alone. So my patience ended and I shouted a lot. Then he cried a lot. Then I thought we were getting somewhere as got his shoes on and out to the car but he decided he wanted to go back in to get a huge toy dinosaur and I said no we haven't got time. He ignored me. I said last chance to get in the car...counted to five...not in car. I gave up took our shoes and coats off again and have now refused to take him (since it is nearly finished now anyway Hmm)

So now he's been sobbing and saying he wanted to go and pleeeeeaase can we go and "I'll be good now promise". So I feel horrible now. But I've got to teach him a lesson here haven't I?!

Sorry that was rambly. Why do they make you feel so mean when it was their bloody fault in the first place??!

I need tea. BrewCake

TooStressyTooMessy · 26/03/2019 11:27

foxes Brew. If I could figure out the answer to your question I’d write a parenting book Grin.

foxessocks · 26/03/2019 12:34

Lisette1940 · 26/03/2019 17:29

He's so cute Foxes. On a side note, we've all been there. Elastic limit and all that.

Cagliostro · 26/03/2019 20:49

Oh those little feet 😍 bless him. Cagletini is firmly in the “if I put my hands over my eyes I’m invisible” phase, which gets a lot of “awww” reactions usually from fellow bus passengers 😂

We swam today, she was not impressed. Trampolining caught up with my legs though and I definitely hit the wall pain wise, while in the supermarket 🙄 and had a nap. At the caravan I mean, not in Morrisons 😂

Bowerbird5 · 26/03/2019 23:41

Just a quick hi, work is a nightmare. I am coping though and just “ go with the flow” even though things are changed several times a day. We are off out tomorrow.
Derry girls was hilarious tonight.

ChicCroissant · 27/03/2019 09:02

I did a post last night but obviously just previewed it Blush

Launch Pad link for Wednesday

Love Hide and Seek, great photo foxes, it is hard to get out of the door some days because they don't have the power of reason at that age. Just channel an accepting kind of attitude to get through the day Bower and decompress at home later! Holiday seems to be going well Cag, take it easy on those trampolines!

Hi everyone Smile

Tiny bit of living room tidying last night. Hoping for a bit more tonight.

Work horrific though. Have been at home fewer than 12 hrs since Monday morning

Hope all are well!

Lisette1940 · 27/03/2019 15:39

Sorry to hear work is horrific push just do what you can in zone 5. Have completed, ahem, long neglected living/dining. Dusty and that's not good in our house with dust mite allergies. Smells of lemon zoflora. Plan to get some house plants for the room. Will get washable cushions and another throw.

Stilllivinginazoo · 27/03/2019 17:43

TooStressyTooMessy · 27/03/2019 18:45

Hello all, sorry to hear work so awful Bower and Push. Glad meeting went ok zoo Smile.

Waves to Chic, lisette and everyone else.

Had extra day off work this week as needed it for childcare tonight as DH worked this afternoon. Was surprisingly prosecutors while kids in school...

Ta da:-
Some decluttering in DD1’s room with one BRC left to look at with her
Decluttered snack cupboard (not in current zone I know but it had reached stage of stuff falling out every time it was opened).
Tidied coat cupboard and put the proper winter coats to one side. Don’t want to put them away properly quite yet.
Home bleugh except for cleaning kitchen which I will do quickly tonight. Have stripped beds but need to make now.
Went through first week of school Easter holidays on the calendar.
We’ve just eaten tea.

To do:-
Dishwasher
Evening routine
Make all beds
Bath and bedtime
Clean kitchen
If time, go through second week of the holidays on calendar.

TooStressyTooMessy · 27/03/2019 18:46

prosecutors? productive!

Lisette1940 · 27/03/2019 19:06

I like the idea of a snack cupboard! I've a general food cupboard and a baking cupboard.

Have been at home with sick child so will catch up with work later.

ChicCroissant · 27/03/2019 21:34

Sorry to be so quiet today, been out for most of it - eaten a large lunch which made me quite tired this afternoon, even a toffee latte tonight hasn't helped!

House reaching critical point, must try and carve out some time tomorrow. DH is off ATM so trying to balance doing stuff with him and the housework - the house is losing out!

DD also quite tired after a busy week and lots of revision, early night for the chic household today I think the excitement never starts here

I also have a baking cupboard Lisette. DD had some homework from school which was baking years ago and I was quite taken aback when another parent said they'd have to buy stuff in to do it - call it greed but I always have enough stuff to bake at a moment's notice and decorate a fairy cake! I hope your poorly patient is improving, I recommend cake personally ...

Prosecuting seems a bit harsh, Stressy, but it may be the only thing to move me at the moment. A step up from the pointy stick, perhaps.

Bower I hope work improved a bit today, and that your holiday is still going well Cag. I hope the recent meetings are a step forward in helping you and your DS zoo.

Waves to IVE, Pushme, foxes and fledglings in general.

foxessocks · 28/03/2019 16:28

I love scones Smile

I didn't bake either in the end, ran out of time so will have to bake something tomorrow instead. Probably for the best since ds is getting a little cake obsessed!

TooStressyTooMessy · 28/03/2019 20:11

Well I don’t really have a baking cupboard as such if it makes people feel better Grin. I do have baking ingredients but hate baking and do it as little as possible Blush. We have a cupboard as it is a really high up one, one of those sort of crosses between a cupboard and a drawer. When we used to have a drawer it was too much of a free for all Grin.

No flying done today as at work. Attempted to go to a training session but had booked the wrong thing so couldn’t go BlushHmm. Have cancelled the booking with no problems and did get some other useful work done with the unexpected free time but Hmm. I despair of myself sometimes.

On the plus side DH was at home and had done loads of work in the garden and we have ordered take away Smile.

I know it is nearly April and I’ll start the new thread sometime on Sunday.

TooStressyTooMessy · 28/03/2019 20:11

Woohoo for sandwich eating foxes
