No delayed exit for clutter - March Flylady Thread 2019 for fledglings!

ChicCroissant · 28/02/2019 09:40

What would a combo of exit and clutter be, clexit? Exclutter? Perhaps we should just stick with declutter ....

Welcome to the March Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in March. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

Hi,
Love my new large baking cupboard. It works beautifully with my Kenwood inside. Everything I need above and I just need to divide the drawer up into sections for all those little bits and pieces.

I’m feeling a lot better but have now become allergic to the medication. I am itchy all over. It started on my fingers yesterday and now my legs and arms , forehead are itchy. I need to finish the course but not sure if I can take anti histamines with it.

Had a school trip which used to be good but wasn’t this time. A few children misbehaving too. We were glad to get them back. So a bit tired today. had a weird tea but enjoyed it. Used up leftovers plus a tin of soup. Considering ice cream. I have B&Js dairy free peanut butter...mmmmm May have to get it in a minute.
Ilike peanut butter, can tolerate Marmite but love Vegemite. DH is the opposite.
Sitting room is fairly tidy bar some school books, papers and dusted. Could do with a vacuum tonight or in the morning. Watching Julia Bradbury at the moment.

Chic Love the laundry mantra...that will be why mine is still on the dining table. The ironed stuff that is. I still have more to do. I am going to clean the boudoir next week. I’ll have to my sister is coming to stay!😮

ChicCroissant · 28/03/2019 23:37

I want scones now, I wonder if I'll have time to bake tomorrow ...

I seriously need to stop barely treading water and start upping my game to go back to good basic routines EVERY day...

I think I need to make time each day to plan D's schoolwork or that doesn't get done either

Off to make a start.i really should go to town today

ChicCroissant · 29/03/2019 09:05

Morning! Another lovely day here, will be able to get more laundry piled up dry. It is the putting away bit for me that is the backlog Blush

How is the patient doing today Lisette, hope he's feeling a bit better now.

I definitely need to go back to basics zoo, may even put some ideas down in writing. I'm just not getting stuff done (including an online course which I was drawn to because it mentioned distractions and efficiency, oh the irony).

DD is super-busy this week which has been an added pressure so I am channeling my best childrens-tv-presenter persona to keep things light and cheery. It's an effort, if I'm honest Grin but I did get a few things done yesterday which has made this morning run so much smoother. Really need to stick to the morning and evening routines.

Waves to all fledglings, I'll be back at lunchtime.

Hello! Got back at lunchtime, the journey was good.

Someone took a parcel in for us while we were away (delivered on wrong day), and then got annoyed after two days, so left it outside our house in plain sight Hmm luckily our actual neighbours noticed and looked after it.

ChicCroissant · 29/03/2019 17:33

Blimey, why take in a parcel if you have a time limit!

Shattered here, just dropped DD off and about to cook tea for us, will call into a fast food establishment for her later when we pick her up and get a large coffee for me and looking forward to Wine later.

Have done some laundry, but not much else!

runlift · 29/03/2019 17:35

I need to declutter. Can I join?

Cagliostro · 29/03/2019 17:37

Right?! It’s perfectly fine to refuse, I have a couple of times when it really wasn’t convenient. Just so glad the other neighbour saw it. Not that it was valuable (£12 of books) but still. Sadly nice neighbour dropped it off and left before I could find out if other neighbour was particularly known for being grumpy/a jobsworth :o

Bowerbird5 · 29/03/2019 19:03

I’ve had a really shit day today. Ending with my daughter coming here after not being in touch for a week and now we had a row over something.
I am in my bed crying. I am really pissed ( sorry) off. It started this morning.

It seems like I am not entitled to an opinion anywhere.

Welcome run we’re as mad as a 🎁 of 🐸 s.

ChicCroissant · 29/03/2019 19:19

Welcome run, good to have you with us!

Cag, I take in lots of parcels - if I'm going away then I don't because I couldn't pass them on - otherwise, it's fine.

Bower Flowers

zoo what a day that was! I love crochet, Bella Coco videos on YouTube are good to watch if you forget are looking for inspiration.

I am shattered, just counting down the hours until Wine need to collect DD shortly.

OP posts:
TooStressyTooMessy · 29/03/2019 19:33

Welcome run.

Cag, how annoying. People are batshit about taking in parcels. I’m with Chic, I take them in if I can (this is almost always the case), apologise and don’t take them in if I can’t. I stress about a lot of things but this is not one of them!

Bower Flowers.

I have had an ok day but also had a shitty evening and still need to go out for physio so can’t relax yet for a good couple of hours.

IVEgottheDECAF · 29/03/2019 20:46

My neighbour takes in parcels. Then bitches to dp about it. Who then bitches at me about it

Just say no you twat

Lisette1940 · 29/03/2019 21:30

chic he's much recovered - the restorative power of baked goods!

Bower 💐💐💐

runlift · 29/03/2019 21:33

Thanks all. I'm laid up in bed feeling rubbish but will keep watching for tips!

Lisette1940 · 29/03/2019 21:41

Sorry to hear that run. Rest up. Technically you're never behind with Flylady - you just jump in again.

Bowerbird5 · 29/03/2019 23:01

Ta bloody da

I have cleaned the kitchen including the mess dad has left. She has shut herself in her bedroom. I went to Best Friends and she was out😥her DH was fast asleep on the sofa and her DS 2 was no where in site though his van was there. So I let a note on some paper towel.
I could have robbed you. Just to let her know.🤫🤣

Had a drink in pub and DS2 turned up. He thought I was away but saw lights on and car. He is off on holiday to Wales and South England. No mention of Mothering Sunday. Ah just realised that must be who the card is from. I thought it was DD trying to remind me she was here. To be honest I wish she had gone back with her boyfriend. She is getting more like her bloody father opinionated.

Bowerbird5 · 29/03/2019 23:17

Sorry thanks for the 💐💐💐💐
I still feel grumpy.
I am really sick of some of the parents at our school. Never consider that their little prince might be lying. Give money ( more than twice the allowed amount) and when child loses it blames staff and wants to know what we are going to do about it. About two hundred and fifty parents can’t write their child’s name in their clothing and shout at us when said child loses it - over 300 in the school.
And not one parent said thanks for taking little Johnny on the trip. Leaving earlier and getting back later and dealing with puk on the bus. Not one.
Sorry rant over this was just this week.
Retirement looms. I am sick of being shouted at and when I shout to be heard over the unruly class complaints are made. I shouted at a child because he kicked another in the shins and then lied about it. I bloody saw him do it. Another member of staff resigned and when I gave the Head a letter tonight he put his head in his hands. He thought it was mine ...not yet!

ChicCroissant · 29/03/2019 23:38

All parents should help out on a trip Bower, it is eye-opening! Most of the children are lovely, though! Start drafting the letter even if you don't send it yet ...

Baking solves a lot of life issues IME, Lisette Grin and you are right about never being behind with Flylady.

Stressy sorry to hear about the evening and I hope the physio helps.

IVE I swear some people do stuff so they have something to moan about. There can be no other reason!

run hope you feel better soon. Good to get a plan in place, it's just careful research IMO Grin

Sleep well fledglings, Saturday is nearly upon us!

Stilllivinginazoo · 30/03/2019 06:19

run get well soon
Ive clearly your neighbour needs to excitement in mundane life of bitching about neighbours
Cag missed it up thread but agree everyone else neighbours don't take a parcel unless it's convenient!
Chic oh might lose a lot of hours go and look on u tube
Bower I was always thankful when mine had school trips.i can't imagine taking 30 kids anywhere.bad enough try not to lose mine when they were younger, grateful they never barfed in car and always hated the loooong are we there yets?followed by the tired whining on way back!(can you tell I hate travelling?Grinsorry your family are being arses.adopt mine.we need you!!Smile
Stressy hope physio went ok

Right,I'm awake

Another round yelling, this time dd2 as asked clean bedding.i dutifully washed it before choir.drier then had funny five minutes and refused dry properly.ment no dry bedding, and that's all my fault...

Dp coming around 830,straight from work so tired and grumpy
I can't cope him and everyone else on one so best start is clear up so he don't trip and yell!!
To do
Scrub kitchen
Locate surfaces front room
Decide if can fix drier,if not organise schedule for washing laundry and how going to get it dry(local cat sprays laundry on line outside, house cold and washing don't dry well on airers.)
Stairs need clear and hoover(and a stair skip/basket if I'm honest)
Tidy hall floor so he don't break his neck on way in
Defester the bathroom

The list Igor's on but with time I have it's scary and I need crack on.cats yowling for breakfast.setting self 8am return to thread with tada

Stilllivinginazoo · 30/03/2019 08:17

Well tada got slightly kyboshed(sp?)by D's feeling the NEED to make banana bread before dad arrives and not one of the options bit both (must remember to not always give options nowGrin)
So
Tada
Make banana bread with cinnamon and top banana chips
Make banana bread with vanilla choc chips and sunflower seeds, top sunflower seeds

Living Room locate computer table and under it
Locate book case and tidy, sort dvds
Sweep floor
Find dining table
Clean around fireplace

Have one more corner to sort and living rooms relatively respectable(but not "visitor ready")
Kitchen

Wipe surfaces
Wipe cupboard fronts
Floor
bins
Littertray

Going to feed zoolets and attack stairs and bathroom.i have 20 mins minimum(depends on length of handover)week

Need clean hob once cookers cooled down

Bowerbird5 · 30/03/2019 10:06

Had a good sleep and feeling less grumpy. I'm sure there are parents that appreciate it. It is just that no one at our school actually says it. I think in over 20 years I have only been thanked about 5 times. We count up after each trip.It is a bit of a joke between staff.

Well so far I have vacuumed downstairs. cleaned kitchen last night so only have floor to wash. Have one load of washing done and another in.Going to have a cup of tea now.

Thanks for letting me have a moan. I think it is probably end of termitis. Beginning to wish I had taken the week off like GP said I wouldn't be fit for work on Monday. I feel guilty when so many staff off and we had a lot of extras to cover this week.

zoo I feel your frustration.Such a shame we don't live closer to each other.

DD made up as today is another day.

Stilllivinginazoo · 30/03/2019 10:41

He was early and wanted pop local shops for lil zoo watch before he took her to dance class,so I've a tada whilst they've been out...

Washed up
Cleared and tidy hall, just need wash floor
Cleared stairs/ landing,just needs a hoover,but it's not a death trap!

Bathroom
Clean bath n sink
Wipe bath panel,skirts and radiator
Sweep floor(littertray scatter)
Empty bathroom bin

Wipe dining table over
Wipe disgustingly filthy dining table chairs
