The bedlam (back)stops here - February Flylady thread for frosty fledglings

SassitudeandSparkle · 31/01/2019 23:38

Welcome to the February Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in February. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

Not much flying done.lil zoo been doctors as still out of sorts.antibiotics for a throat infectionSad
Dp took D's to CAMHS before he went to work
School gave him sam online learning account.from what we can make out its testing questions on variety of topics.but how can he do that without having learnt anything about said topics?(confused)

Dd2 has come in looking decidedly ropey.has cold, cough that wheezes after and bad throat.says feels like death still.please don't say she's going to join lil zoo on meds..I've felt rough all day, just fell asleep about half hour face down in a book.luckily lil zoo woke me for her meds

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 07/02/2019 20:35

zoo Flowers.

Can anyone give me an idiots guide to:-

  1. How I get a new email adress that I can just use for on here
  2. How to deactivate this account once I’ve done that

I know I should know these things Blush.

SassitudeandSparkle · 07/02/2019 22:11

Outlook or hotmail would be a good source for a new email account, after one of the last great data cock-ups here I now have an email account for here and any other junk mail.

Deactivating - if you want to deactivate your MN account, click on the 'my mumsnet' button top right of the screen (well it is on my laptop) and scroll down the page, the option is at the bottom.

I don't think I can name change as the posts on the thread won't highlight so will keep this username on this thread. Have registered another one though.

Mistakes happen - it's just that the response is so dire every time!

Hope all zoolets feel better tomorrow (and you too) zoo. Waves to other fledglings. Did pay another bill, do some laundry and send tricky/other emails today. Some small progress, I'm taking it as a win Grin

Link for the Launch Pad

Sleep well everyone.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 07/02/2019 22:38

Thanks Sass Smile. I have managed (I think!) to set up a new email address, going to try to register with that on here tomorrow. Had been meaning to do it for ages to be fair, this has just made me realise that I need to do it.

I for one really won’t mind if you want to name change, we can manage without the OP highlighted, or even if you wanted to start a new thread then you would still be the OP.

Totally agree mistakes happen but am pretty unimpressed with the MN response yes.

foxessocks · 08/02/2019 07:04

I didn't know anything about this data breach until I saw it on here which seems a bit rubbish Confused

Zoo will take a photo of chocolate flapjack recipe later on - feel free to give me a nudge I'd I forget! I think they were even better than the rice Krispies ones but then I do love chocolate.

We've eaten them all again so I mustn't make any more cakes today , I'll wait for tomorrow as we have friends coming over then so at least we can share them otherwise my lot eat them all too quickly!

Sc meant to say well done for applying for a job it's always a good thing to go for stuff like that. I did the same this week and applied for something, it was a strange feeling as I've been self employed since having the dc. This would be sort of self employed too / casual basis but sounds really interesting. Haven't heard anything yet though and I'm so out of the loop I don't know if that's even normal! Do they not usually at least say thanks for sending the application back so you know you've got the right email address!?

Also, thanks everyone for all the well wishes re my uncle, means a lot, it all started from him getting flu which led to sepsis , he was offered a flu jab in the autumn but didn't get it, he didn't trust doctors Sad I think people still don't realise how dangerous flu can be. He was only in his 60s but had had previous health conditions which meant he was advised to get the jab.

Anyway I'm waffling sorry and don't mean to depress you all but wanted to make sure you all get that flu jab next flu season if you can!

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/02/2019 07:31

Will look forward to that recipe foxes

Well I'm in bed with dd2...she was up 530 needing a drink and coughing til wheezing.crying with tiredness I've made decision not fit for school.going to let her sleep til lunchtime and if extra rest hasn't helped it's time ring gp as rather attempt Fri night triage trip than out of hours over weekend if deteriorates any further

Cagliostro · 08/02/2019 15:26

Went to a free preview of Kid who would be king today, fantastic film! It was a school film screening but IntoFilm is also open to home edders and there were no school groups in there 😂 unfortunately I missed the last half hour or so as DS got really freaked out.

DH got a letter from the hospital outlining all his results. Degenerative disc disease and osteoporosis.

TooStressyTooMessy · 08/02/2019 18:28

I’m back Smile, slight name change.

Cag Flowers. Have they said if any management / medication is possible for the osteoporosis?

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/02/2019 18:45

cagFlowersI have no words.only hugs.xxxx

For some reason my bloody notifications are turned off and no idea how to turn them back on again.grrr

Dd2 end up at doctors after a marathon 15 HR sleep still looked like crap!nurse says viral, could take up to 2weeks to clear.bugger, bugger, bugger
She ment be having her last round booster jabs in Thursday at school,so hoping she's well enough for that!

Cagliostro · 08/02/2019 18:46

Not yet, he’s been referred on to specialists (osteo and surgeon)

I am now sneezing my face off and shivering under a duvet. 🙄

Love the name change! :o

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/02/2019 20:24
SassitudeandSparkle · 08/02/2019 23:43

Oh no, there does seem to be a lot of bugs around at the moment, start on the echinacea/zinc/vitamin C sniffly fledglings. If you are feeling grim, try and get some sleep - most things can wait (unfortunately, children are probably in the no-wait category).

DH and I were out today and bought out a large part of Dunelm! Have curtains, blinds, lighting and bed linen - all lovely. Let's hope it motivates me to keep the rest of the upgraded rooms looking just as lovely. We bought some blinds from Argos (they were cheap, to be fair) last week, fitted one and it was so awful that we bought a replacement today! Generally, you get what you pay for and I need to remember that.

Cag sorry to hear about your DH's diagnosis, I hope that they will look into why he has developed osteoporosis as well as treating it when he sees the other consultants, and that he's got something useful for any pain in the meantime.

Link for the Launch Pad sleep well and battle those bugs ladies.

Mostly genetic I think. His dad has some similar problems.

My throat hurts. Watching blackadder and about to drink another hot squash.

foxessocks · 09/02/2019 07:27

cag Flowers really feel for you and your dh

Zoo hope you're ok, haven't forgotten the recipe will do it later when I've managed to leave my cosy warm bed!!

I was very grumpy last night, in the end I asked dh to do bedtime for the dc as I would have just ended up shouting even more at everybody Blush once they were in bed and asleep I felt more relaxed, possibly just that Friday feeling of small children overdose!

Taking the dc swimming this morning so dh can get on with some uni work in peace. I'm mainly looking forward to the cafe afterwards tbh. Dd is so excited and has her swimming costume on already and has her bag packed and by the door. Ds less enthusiastic. He's also been up since 5.30...

Then we need to get back from swimming and tidy up for friends coming over and hopefully fit in some baking for the guest too.

Hope everyone has a nice Saturday! the

tibni · 09/02/2019 10:02

Wipes cobwebs off self and sneaks back in!
I have been useless - everything with ds transition to adult social care has been all consuming. Still not sorted and he is 18 on Tuesday.
Tomorrow, at his request, he is having a birthday tea party so I'm going to have to get moving and sorted! I want it to be special for him.
Next week, between full time work and trying to support ds with the massive changes and loss of special people that are all associated with children's services I have a gaggle of health and social care professionals coming each evening to sign off / sign on ds.
Next weekend I will return to naughty corner with biscuits and booze if anyone wants to find me Confused
Not had chance to catch up and must not distract myself but hope everyone is ok

IVEgottheDECAF · 09/02/2019 11:00

Ta da

Wash on x3
Dryer on x2
Washing hung to dry
Dry washing sorted
Me and 4dc up fed dressed

So my dates at my scan were put back almost two weeks. Its like i went back in time.
Im not sick today but i am fucking sore. My legs, pelvis, back all ache. I am starting with spd at not even 10 weeks pregnant.

Sorry to hear about your dh cag Flowers and for your loss foxes

After i had flu before christmas i have sworn ill always get the flu jab, it was so bad.

Stilllivinginazoo · 09/02/2019 11:12

I've what a bugger.did you have SPD with the others?
TibniFlowerswill be thinking of you this week
Foxes enjoy cafe after swimming.whats baking today?
Cag hope you haven't fully succumbed to added lurgies

Was awake half night with dd2 cough n wheezy and cryingslept past 6am alarm to give lil zoo meds...she got them at 7,after which I flop down another hour.fed little ones (and myself) retreated to bed til dd2 woke me she was awake and was it too late for breakfast(normally after 10 wake ups I say no as they scoff mountains and leave half of lunch!)she's had fruit puree and custard pot

House a bombsitefrom hell.ive the energy of a half dead rat and my urge to retreat back to bed is at 3000%

TooStressyTooMessy · 09/02/2019 11:42

zoo Brew
Ive, have you spoken to your midwife as the earlier you can flag up the SPD the better (sorry if you already know this; you are a pro at this I know).
Meant to say SC, well done for applying for jobs. IME companies don’t always let you know, no Sad.
Glad they are referring him to specialist *, must be super stressful.

EustaciaVye · 09/02/2019 12:51

Hi everyone
Full on week here as have had decorators in. Worth it :)
Sorry to hear about DH diagnosis cag

foxessocks · 09/02/2019 13:43

Why is it even though I do have routines in place when I have guests it always ends up with a mammoth clean of the whole house until I'm a sweaty mess and exhausted?! I have even cleaned windows! I don't know why, I've never noticed anyone's windows before Confused

Anyway, off to bake now and then change my clothes and brush my hair! Luckily they are running slightly late so I have a bit more time. I've also shut a load of crap into my bedroom so that'll be fun to sort out later Hmm

foxessocks · 09/02/2019 13:45

zoo recipe

Hope hills is ok sure I haven't seen her for a while?

Currently sat on the sofa looking at a to do list that fills an a4 page. Refusing to move..

Bowerbird5 · 09/02/2019 14:27

Ha ha and why do we always put everything in our room.

Sorry to hear about your uncle foxes Dh's uncle also died of sepsis it was linked to gardening. We had a funeral this week.So sad. She was only 5 years older than me.
My GP tells me off if I am late with flu jab, tries to get me in first batch. Had reaction last year but not this year.
Eustacia that has another meaning up here.
zoo was talking about oils last night and there was one for anxiety. The mum said it helped her DS. I will find brochure later and put on. They weren't cheap.

Cags shame about DH you have enough on at home already. Hopefully support and help given now you know.

I've Sorry your pregnancy is rough going. I was like that with sons but only had a couple of times of sickness with DD had awful pain though sciatica and hip down the leg.

Too stressy love your new name. Could be same as here. I also need ICT support. Will need to changed mine as I used DH's email, oops.

SC the process is important. My CV would be a nightmare as I haven't kept a log of all the work I have done while also working at this school. I did two other long term(a year) and supply days and half days at schools and nurseries. I hope you get an interview and no they don't bother replying unless you get an interview. How rude!
Hills hope you are ok.
tibni oh how lovely. Hope you have fun.
Sass thanks for the info. I have been slipping off the broom handle recently. Trying to get back on and have almost thoroughly cleaned sitting room. Piled up everything that shouldn't be in there and then went into the dark depths...under the sofa. I have a lot of magazines and recipes etc. I need to sort and get rid.

New vacuum is ace. You should see the amount of cat hair in there when I cleaned the cylinder.I have only vacuumed a few times.
Been to a small reunion of friends which was lovely. On a coffee break now which has been too long.

Ta das
two loads of washing
Phantom towel in drier, appeared during the week in my washer. Must be DS1 or 2. dumped my washing on the side.
Vacuumed sitting room and kitchen. Emptied canister.
Dusted.
Sorted under sofa.

Need to empty cat litter I can smell her offerings now, phew!
Dry washing.
sort magazines.
Clean all of bedroom.Well start it.

Waves to anyone I have not mentioned.

Bowerbird5 · 09/02/2019 14:28
