The bedlam (back)stops here - February Flylady thread for frosty fledglings

Welcome to the February Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in February. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

Flowers cag,

I really got the hump yesterday as everything is such a mess. I didn't know where to start and so just got miserable.

Going to get DH to help me a bit this morning so I can at least feel like I have done something on the house this weekend.

Cagliostro · 10/02/2019 10:36

💐

Total mess here too. DH in so much pain with his back and also from having his tooth out (such a long root they were risking severing the nerve if they got it a millimetre wrong 😱) so beteeen everything is just pants, we are snappy and grumpy and tired and ugh.

Was meant to see mum yesterday and my oldest friend and her DH for games today. But cancelled both.

I drank some microwaved jelly though so that was good.

I’m having a productive morning watching the letdown on Netflix 😁

TooStressyTooMessy · 10/02/2019 19:57

I LOVE The Letdown Cag. I keep checking to see if season 2 has been released. It pretty much summed up my experience of being a first time mum.

Bowerbird5 · 10/02/2019 22:25

GrinEustacia first time I heard it i asked which room they were doing. Grin there are lots of other weird sayings/words we have to untangle during sex ed. Like calling your 'front bottom' your 'fairy' I had never heard either expression until I started working in schools in this county.

Ta Das today

dishwasher loaded and later washed.
Children's liturgy cut outs done.
washing machine load done.
cleaned cat shit off trainers, moral don't leave your trainers at the back near the litter tray.Left to dry several weeks, brushed off and now washed in a bucket and left to dry by the Everhot.
sorted some magazines.

Went to Mass then went to choir for several hours. Drink in pub, after putting dinner in oven. Two halves then supper ready. Organic beef (bargain from Sainsburys)in red wine with mushrooms, mashed potato and broccoli. Followed by Ben and Jerrys vegan ice cream mmmmm.
Watched Endeavour now off to bed.

GrinSass Quite agree lots of inspiration, recipes, information, advice and support best thread on here. I do enjoy a good parking thread though. Some of the rubbish parking by the parents at the school make great entertainment here. I make sure I have a mug of tea around 3:10 ready to watch out my window on my day off. They think nothing of parking both sides of the narrow road, 6ft from the junction for 20 minutes so the high school bus can't get around and then call the driver of the bus! The occasional CF er thread is worth reading and you do wonder.
Heres hoping for a good week for you all.

Cagliostro · 11/02/2019 00:20

Evenin all. Hopefully over the worst without the lurgy spreading to my chest 😬😬😬 that is what I live in fear of.

I managed to have a bath and detangle my horrible hair, and we did a bit of a meal plan and a Tesco order, that’s about it.

Stilllivinginazoo · 11/02/2019 06:40

Weekend?utterly crap
Let this week at least lubricate before it fucks me over
That is all

EustaciaVye · 11/02/2019 07:29

Cooked scrambled eggs in the interest of following the meal plan... dropped some on my foot and now it stings.

SassitudeandSparkle · 11/02/2019 11:54

Procrastinating like a champion this morning, have done small bit of handwashing laundry and eventually sent tricky email. Ugh. May nip out to shops and then do a bit more this afternoon.

SassitudeandSparkle · 11/02/2019 13:55

Okay - have done a few loads of laundry, prepared after-school activity bag for later tonight whilst hoping DD is too tired to go after she couldn't get to sleep last night and been shopping. Scooped a fab pair of branded flat boots that I have wanted for a while from the chazzer ignoring the fact that they are slightly loose as they are wide fitting, nothing an insole won't solve and another pair of flat shoes which look much nicer than I expected. Oh, and the MFL dictionaries that I actually went in there for Blush as DD has started a new language at secondary school this year.

Must.Do.Housework. DH did a brilliant job of fitting various blinds last week, has meant a bit of moving clutter around in various rooms though so need to sort through, dispose and put away items that need to stay.

Waves to all fledglings, I will be back later tonight.

SassitudeandSparkle · 11/02/2019 23:20

Launch Pad for tomorrow

Hope all the poorly fledglings are doing OK, is anyone on half-term yet? We have a few days to go but we're on countdown!

Not done nearly enough today Blush so after crafting tomorrow will have to put some effort in. Hoping to get some sleep tonight as didn't sleep that well myself last night and DD was still awake late on too.

Sleep well, fledglings, see you tomorrow.

DS not sleeping at night clingy and anxious in the day
I'm exhausted.place a tip.i want a half term break,namely time by myselfSad

SassitudeandSparkle · 12/02/2019 07:41

Zoo that sounds stressful, are you still feeling ill as well? My DD is in all week as well, finishing Friday (I am looking forward to it!).

Better pack DD's lunch, scrape the car free of ice and get going with my day! I am out this morning, will catch you at lunchtime.

Cagliostro · 12/02/2019 10:56

Morning all. I am having yet another useless day. Wondering if I’ll ever feel normal 😂

foxessocks · 12/02/2019 11:49

Argh sorry everyone struggling atm Sad

My day has been a little stressful as the dc were up at 5.30 again and ds particularly has been hard work, think I'm lacking in patience myself due to pms/ lack of sleep! Luckily he has fallen asleep in the car and my mum is very kindly sitting with him while I'm at the orthodontist! She was going to take him to do some shopping but we agreed best to let him sleep and we'll all have lunch after. So here's to a more relaxing afternoon...maybe!

As for flying/ housework I have at least done meal plan and online food shop and made sure dd school tights are in the wash! Must remember to get them out again later though!

SassitudeandSparkle · 12/02/2019 11:56

I'm about to put some lively music on and try to power through the rest of the morning/afternoon (or until I pick DD up and start running her around at least).

Cag be kind to yourself, whatever you are feeling is normal for today so just work with what you have - don't pressure yourself. foxes you seem to be back at the orthodontist I hope everything is OK there.

Don't worry about checking in if you are having a bad day, the thread will still be here. I've been feeling a bit stressed myself the last week or so and not sleeping well, so just trying to do what I can. Mine will resolve once the situation has passed at the weekened though, so I can see the light!

Music going on, I am still old-school and don't stream so the current Now CD will be playing shortly! Try and do an hour before having my lunch.
