The bedlam (back)stops here - February Flylady thread for frosty fledglings

Welcome to the February Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in February. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

Why am i getting sicker Sad

Flat lemonade is usually my friend in the mornings, not today.

HillsBesideTheSea · 06/02/2019 08:17

ive go speak to your GP if it is getting worse. Having been hospitalised several times and suffered 7 months of sickness with ds sometimes you need to get checked and sometimes medicated for the health of all.

Morning. horrific to do list to do today involving going to the next town and then all the things in the house... Is it bedtime yet?

Sproutingcorm · 06/02/2019 08:20

Aw, love the photo of your DD Foxes she's adorable!

SassitudeandSparkle · 06/02/2019 09:50

Morning, I have (decaf) coffee and a pen and paper in front of me, could barely sleep last night for stuff whirling around in my head so trying to get most of it down on paper. There is one other matter that is stressing me a bit at the moment and I should be sorting it rather than avoiding it but hey, we don't always do what we should!

Very cute foxes and she's working harder than me! Waves to SC, zoo, Cag, Ive, Lisette and Hills (and anyone I've missed!).

So - laundry to do, bills to pay, handwashing of dancewear etc to do as well. Missing my craft class today unexpectedly so have bonus time I should make the most of. But will I ....

I'veFlowersagree with hills might be time to get checked over.not helpful to say but remember you have a very very busy stressful life at the mo all of which is a lot to manage and your body might be just trying to get you to slowdown a little.
Foxes cheers lovely

Well we've agreed time stop pansying around D's.hes manipulating to no nothing but Xbox and phone if had his way(only things that distract me) so today hard mum is trying to take things back
We are borrowing lil zoos sat test/work books and he's going over two sections of maths and English today.i know not up to his year group but suspect bit rusty will help him get back up to speed ready for when I order age appropriate at weekend books.wish me luck!!

On flying front
Eventually parted dd2 from bed(she's feeling so poorly bless her,but has test today)
Gave up with lil zoo(can't barely speak and has multiple chins where glands are huge along with fever, sore throat, headache and tendancy burst into tears...she's laying on sofa with blankie
Cats fed
Load washing in drier at mo
Lower floor swept
S+s bathroom

Right school marm hat on...

SassitudeandSparkle · 06/02/2019 10:07

zoo, get him baking - weights and measures count as maths! If you have easy online access some people rate Khan Academy, if the online element might appeal more than the pen and paper method. I'm sure some of our HE experts on here will have good advice for you though!

Here is the rice Krispies flapjack recipe sorry it took so long! I left out the marshmallows because I don't like them and I'm not sure how small you'd have to cut it to get 25 pieces I got 12!! Shock

Today I made double chocolate flapjack , haven't tried it yet, just about to! Smile

Unfortunately had some sad news here as a relative who has been in hospital for weeks with sepsis has taken a turn for the worse after previously making some progress Sad if everyone could keep fingers and toes crossed for him.

I'm off to shout at whichever child I can hear out of bed!!

Unproductive day. Panic attack again next to a main road, that was fun.

Starting to jot down thoughts for the article since I can’t sleep

Cagliostro · 07/02/2019 00:03

Thinking of your relative foxes hope it’s just a temporary downturn x

SassitudeandSparkle · 07/02/2019 00:09

Thanks for the recipe foxes. There is no way a 20cm tin is going to turn out 25 flapjacks, that's less than a centimetre each suspects jiggery pokery for calorie content but adds rice krispies to shopping list Double chocolate? Sorry to hear about your relative, you are all in my thoughts, crossing many body parts and sending prayers for you.

Apologies for my own lack of presence on the thread today, I have been slightly distracted. Still trying to compose an email to someone which is both cheery and apologetic, whilst actually thinking WTF WERE YOU THINKING WHEN YOU DID THAT (about them, not me). And breathe ....

I tried hanging washing outside today. That didn't work Hmm Grin

DH has lots of holiday to use up over the next couple of months and has taken some days off work, which is handy for me as my car has developed an issue so I can use his instead! I am hoping he can fix it, but these modern automobiles often require a dealership at some cost.

Sleep well, check the Launch Pad for tomorrow's tasks.

25?what are they feeding?squirrels?Barbie dolls?foxes 12 sounds like acceptable portioning to me double chocolate flapjacks sound delicious interesting

Spent yesterday afternoon working thru some more recipe clipping I've been hoarding.found some I've no idea why I save(ingredients allergic to or too fancy pants for basic store cupboardand some I need to try very soon got my eyes on a savoury veggie muffin recipe and nut butter and seed bars.there are some rather delicious cake recipes to.its slow work, but kind of fun.i really must use more often results I have than returning endlessly to old faithfuls(not that banana oat muffins/banana bread aren t delicious)

foxessocks · 07/02/2019 06:59

The double chocolate ones basically have cocoa powder mixed into the oats and then chocolate chips stirred in as well. They are indeed delicious!

Yes thought it was me going mad when I saw 25 pieces and I had done something wrong somewhere!!! But it definitely says 20cm tin too! The book is a bit odd with quantities and tin sizes in general.

Ds up at 5.45 Hmm I don't know what this child is doing at the moment.

foxessocks · 07/02/2019 07:23

Just heard that my uncle died in the night sadly Sad

Need to shift my bum and get dc out the door for nursery and school. Sent my dad a quick "sending you a hug" etc message which isn't really going to help but my mum says he is ok just tired. I can't see them today as they are busy helping my auntie and cousins with stuff that needs doing at the hospital.

Right. Must pick myself up and get myself going.

Sproutingcorm · 07/02/2019 08:28

I'm very sorry to hear the very sad news about your uncle Foxes. Lots of love to you and all the family. If you can't see them today, and feel up to it, maybe you could cook them a casserole or some such xx

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 07/02/2019 08:44

Really sorry to hear about your uncle. SC’s thought of the casserole is good, or if you don’t have time for that perhaps some nice biscuits, tea bags etc so at least they have something to nibble on and offer to any guests. If you think they would like that of course Flowers.

Cagliostro · 07/02/2019 09:09

So sorry foxes :( sepsis is pure evil :( 💐

SassitudeandSparkle · 07/02/2019 09:39

So sorry about your Uncle foxes Flowers

I didn't do my email last night so will have to work on that now. Ugh.

I will try hanging the laundry outside again today, doubt it will work any better. Have a couple of bills to pay and more emails to send.

Will crack on with worst email first and then the rest will seen easy Grin

There has been an issue on MN where people could log in but it would load someone else's account Angry so they have logged everyone out (unless you are using the mobile app, apparently).

MN's responses to this kind of incident are never wholly reassuring, but if you are wondering why you've been logged out that is the reason.

Do most people on the thread use FB?

OP posts:
MeetOnTheledge · 07/02/2019 11:24

Yes, I've been following that thread about the logging in, I've cleared my pms and am on FB. It comes to something when I consider FB as the lesser of two evils when it comes to data protection Confused.

I'm sorry about your uncle Foxes Flowers

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 07/02/2019 11:28

Are we supposed to clear PMs then?

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 07/02/2019 11:28

Yes I am on Facebook. I try to keep the two things separate. I’m not naive enough to think they truly are but I don’t follow MN on Facebook and never log on here though Facebook.

SassitudeandSparkle · 07/02/2019 11:32

I don't use FB as a login here either, more as a possible substitute for the forum tbh!

OP posts:
MeetOnTheledge · 07/02/2019 11:44

I don't use FB to log into anything else, I have a lot of MNers as FB friends but everyone is very good at keeping real life and MN separate. I have cleared my pms in case someone logs in and gets into my account. It was quite telling how many of the messages had already "been removed at the request of the sender".

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 07/02/2019 12:02

Ah I’m with you.

Stilllivinginazoo · 07/02/2019 18:15

Hi guys, reading upthread explains why I was locked out via my mobile and had to sign in...never go in via FB...
Foxes I'm so sorry about your uncleFlowers
can we have the chocolate flapjacks recipe too please?dd2 hates flapjacks and I need something to tempt her to the dark side with the rest of us.im guessing chocolate might do it
