The bedlam (back)stops here - February Flylady thread for frosty fledglings

Welcome to the February Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in February. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

Need the ——————-> in my bum.

Pottered about not doing enough. Sitting room nearly sorted. Dusted, tidied and vacuumed. Should have done bedroom first. Washing load being dried on Everhot. Need to light fire.

Zoo you have done loads you deserve some reading time. I didn’t get up until 9:30 because it should be a school day and I could. Started dusting bedroom. I did some last week so if I got my act together I could have it finished today.

Cags I used to be on 8 aday and now rarely take them. They sometimes made me sickly but so do the blood pressure ones.

Sass PJs are ace. Still in the bottom half of mine just hoping no one comes to the door. All my comfy pants are in the washer or drying.
It was not posh just fowl. I always have a look in the marked down bit. Old habits die hard. You can end up with some interesting meals. Put a steak in the freezer. Going to need to be more savvy if I retire.

Need to submit a letter.

Later finish dusting.
Ironing
Put clothes away.

Bowerbird5 · 18/02/2019 17:26

Maybe she has done it herself Cags.

That is great news that the process will be quicker.

Stilllivinginazoo · 18/02/2019 17:50

Aw cag, pleased it's not been a fight to get the referral.i wish people offered me two copies,I'm a nightmare filing out forms!!

Well reading time was great,I feel calmer and refreshed.pity wasn't a "real" book..I do like the physical activity holding and turning pages and smell new print
I signed up to voracious readers.they send ebooks of up and coming authors(you can edit genres to suit your tastes) and you read for free then review so their work gets out in the public domain.i put loads genres and am inundated daily with choices.currently reading a "teen" book(looking for ideas for zoolets) set in ww2 America the tale a girl from New York whose mum travels to the front leaving her in Midwest in care elderly aunts.it reminds me a bit of carries war, which I loved and a child,it's not a bad read.actially quite enjoying it.assuming ending isn't a damp squib I will be offering favourable opinionWink

Stilllivinginazoo · 18/02/2019 17:51

Ps bower im not poking anyone in the bum today.tus half term, day one.slouching in pjs is optimum behaviour 😍

SassitudeandSparkle · 18/02/2019 18:12

We have a Wii U and one of the first generation Wii consoles, the early once we've already replaced the disc reader in it twice! Just playing Skylander-type games today, no leaping around ones (that will be later in the week). I'm sure she's love a Switch console but it won't play all the many games we have and the new games are so expensive. You can pick games and figures up for pence in chazzers and exchange shops.

Just doing tea, having fish and pasta tonight after overeating all weekend and DH is away tonight despite BMI's best efforts so having a lovely time of it.

zoo we are really into battery lights too, we have lots in the bathroom and put them on for a 'spa' experience Grin

Cag I know what you mean about the referral, if I've braced myself for a battle and they give in quicker than I expect I start worrying that it may be more serious than I initially thought!

Arrgh, every time I start a reply I drift off reading the rest of the internet Blush

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/02/2019 19:59

My arse hurts Sad

Stilllivinginazoo · 18/02/2019 22:00

Dare I ask why I've??

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/02/2019 22:05

Its the fucking bastarding spd and 12 hours on my feet with work/commute Sad can barely move

Bowerbird5 · 18/02/2019 22:33

Mine arse doesn't because zoo refused to put pointy stick in mine. Though it should ache from sitting about so much.

Well I typed up objection and by time i finished it had timed out and I thought i had lost it. Was quite pleased with myself and my effort. AArrgh! I went back and managed to resubmit so I think it has gone and they send you one in email as well as to recipient. Fingers crossed. Took me over an hour. I read through some others first, then checked all papers then wrote mine. Whew! It was last day today.

Now I can relax. I am going to do half an hour in morning then go to church cleaning and coffee session as I need to write in the book. I haven't done it for ages.
Hope that will get me moving to clean house otherwise will watch half hour of hoarders programme which will make me jump up and set to cleaning the bedroom.
At moment I am bringing down something for the kitchen every time I go upstairs and now putting away two things each time too. Bathroom is upstairs. Wink
I can't stop coughing, bloody asthma. Will ring GP tomorrow and ask for x-ray he promised before Christmas. Hope it is nothing more serious.

Meet0nTheledge · 18/02/2019 23:30

Evening all, total Flying fail today apart from doing a big food shop, hoping for better tomorrow. Work all day while DCs were at sports camp, then shopping, tea, DD to swimming and doing homework with DS, who has masses of it ATM.

SassitudeandSparkle · 18/02/2019 23:58

No flying of note here either today, tomorrow is a fresh opportunity though!

Good morning fledglings. Still in pyjamas here again, in full-on half-term mode Grin

Have done slight bit of washing up this morning. Will do a few more bowlfuls during the day. DD's cold seems to be a little better and I predict another day in of game-playing for us. DH still away so we have the place to ourselves.

Time for a lovely, late breakfast and then on with the day. Catch you later.

We’ve kinda been in half term mode since before Christmas 😳 must change that now, starting to feel a bit more human but still feel like my brain is made of cloud.

Had a nice visit from oldest friend today and we nipped out for a child free lunch then played a couple of games.

Zoo and anyone else into games I’d really recommend Organ Attack! I got a copy from Hong Kong (Amazon I think) and it’s perfect.

Glad DD is getting better sass it’s rubbish being ill for the holidays

Stilllivinginazoo · 19/02/2019 17:39

Was lovely visit with dd1.got lil zoo raspberry milkshake shower gel and a bubble bar from lush.hopefully she will be less soap dodging now!!dd2 got her hoodie and leggings.i got a check shirt £1 on sale rack in Primark!!
Dd2 had lunch and we chatted all pm just left.
I've got two loads wash done but that's all today(all stuff bought/girls pinch from dd1 cast offs bag she came to show us)

Little ones having tuna pasties for supper with roasted cauliflower.sweet potato jacket for dd2 with homemade hummus and roasted peppers and broccoli.pasta for me and dp later

Hope lil sass feeling bit perkier

Stilllivinginazoo · 19/02/2019 17:41

do not attempt to remove player actual organs only their playing cards
Sound advice from Amazon in the descriptionGrin

Cagliostro · 19/02/2019 17:53

:o the pancreas and gallstone cards are my faves :o

Just discovered there is a board game cafe/shop in the town we are travelling through on the way to the holiday park next month 😁😁😁😁😁

foxessocks · 19/02/2019 19:32

Day two of half term done. I'm exhausted!!!

Cagliostro · 19/02/2019 21:46

Hello!

DD noticed some patches on the ceiling. Turns out DS’ radiator is leaking. FFS. Waiting for an engineer. Very grateful for living in HA property now as it was very easy to phone them.

Just me and rowan tomorrow. Not sure what we will do, I get really panicky so not sure I want to go too far from home.

SassitudeandSparkle · 19/02/2019 22:15

DD is definitely getting better but I think we'll be inside all day tomorrow as well. It is unfortunate that it is the holidays but that's better than trying to tough it out in school with this bug, whatever it is it's a vicious one! Not board games here though, although having said that I did see a Wii game that has versions of some of the board games we play like Game of Life (no adding up at the end would be a bonus) so I was quite tempted ...

Not much flying done here today but tbh, with the total inactivity of DD the place isn't getting anywhere near as bad as a half-term would normally be! We were out most of the weekend too which helped.

Love the Amazon notes zoo, glad you had a good afternoon. Waves to Cag, Foxes, Stressy, Hills, Bower meet, ive, SC, tibni, Lisette, HarebellMeadow, Eustacia, WheelyCote and Mog, and anyone else I've missed that has been on the thread so far this month.

If anyone is having an issue joining the FB group mentioned upthread let me know because as a member I can invite people I think
