Flying Resolutions for the Fledglings

Ok. 1st of January.

It's a long running thread, but we like new people. Just be aware if we seem cliquey it is simply because some of us have known each other for many mumble mumble years.

Respect. We won't tell you what you are doing wrong if you don't tell us. hint if you tell us we are doing it wrong we will tell you you are wrong

Babysteps. If you are new start here. If you dropped off the fly wagon, start here. Basically start here.

Missions. Do these, if you start with the babysteps you will end up doing these during the course of the month.

Decluttering - you can't clean clutter. But experience has shown that fly lady is good for routines but there are other methods that work better for decluttering. Feel free to mix and match.

Emails - feel free sign up to them. Most of us don't because there can be a lot, ergo whilst you are welcome to sign up for them; we don't generally recommend it. especially as one of the babysteps is to delete them anyway

Linkies. We will be linking to the launch pad from there you can get to babysteps, missions, flight plans etc etc. Be aware that some don't update until the date that they are on (eg looking at the links before midnight on Monday will not show the information for Tuesday iyswim)

Happy New Year everyone.

I was up by 8:30am. Wiped bathroom around.
Went for a walk around village with DD and then made vegan lunch mainly from M&S so spring rolls, oriental mix and a Thai curry.
I did eye up the beef but it was £44 so I soon declined that offer.

Visited some people who have moved back to the village and invited lots of people to drop in.
Back home and DD said we would do an hour in my room.
2 hrs and 45 mins later I was losing the will. It was messy but I was decluttering it and putting it away. Three baskets of clothes not put away.
DD got off the bed and helped. So. One basket to take to charity shop.
T shirts all folded and back in drawer. One drawer for things to wear to school. Some hung up and shoes put in boxes that I had out for concerts and Christmas. She even did a little more when I gave up and had a cup of tea. Usually she talks about helping but never does it. It was helpful to have a second opinion on some clothes.

Just watching Marie Kondo. Wow I don’t have THAT many clothes!

I didn’t think the house in the first episode, with the two little kids, was that untidy 😳🤔

Evening everyone

Sorry brain is tired - thanks epilepsy and dyspraxia, have been reading the thread and instantly forgotten it!

Ta Da
Washing washed, dried and put away the same day!
Washing up done twice also dried and put away straight away.
Christmas decorations put away.
Went to Tesco's twice first brought milk then was about to get tea when realised no potato or chips! Blush
Has been strange not having Facebook and Gameroom to pop into but think will help me mentally and getting organised.

Will be back tomorrow.
Have a good evening everyone.

To do list
-realistic
finish a wip
open text books and study
pull out journal and start it
put in online orders
-unrealistic
folding
ironing
pack for ds' going away again
clothes away - both mine and ds'
rescue remaining washing from ds' room

Thanks Hills.

Ended up being a lazy afternoon / evening but we have got another set of overnight guests arriving tomorrow (as of about 4 hours ago) so its just as well I washed the spare bed sheets today.

Seems like we all got off to a good start. I have been shining my sink. Just love it. I had a stainless steel 2 1/2 bowl for thirty one years and now have a single Belfast one which is what was originally in our house. Before I go to bed I check the kitchen and wash, dry and put away. Take anything out that doesn’t belong. Just dropped off four things of DDs. She will learn. I am trying to keep this up and hope it filters through to everyone else and then I can start on other rooms. That is the aim this year as well as decluttering.

I must have watched a different MK one it was two oldies with a life time of clutter.DD did comment “ Wow she has way more clothes than you.” Then the woman went into the next room and the next. I do tend to hang onto things for a long time. Too long.

Zoo I didn’t know that about washing on NY but I have never done it to my knowledge just because it is a holiday. Certainly didn’t today since DH broke DDs mirror recently.

Have a basket load for tomorrow and need to strip bed as DD and her pal are going to share mine and i’ll Sleep in DDs as long as back is ok. Actually just thought I could go and stay at DS2 s for a couple of days and leave the girls to it. Hmm. Might be an option unless they are wanting a chauffeur.

Welcome to the newbies and the hasbeens( before).

Hey all!
Im looking forward to watching the Marie Kondo programme to get some hints and tips. I want to learn to fold clothes her way.

We had friends stay over last night and they didn't leave until lunchtime so today has been a relaxed day with minimal flying achieved.

Ta da
Washload in
Some washing dried
Downstairs hoovered
Washing up done and put away (countless times)
Living room tidied and toys put away (many times)
Nap with dc4 😀

Im hoping for a more productive day tomorrow. I plan to begin packing away the Christmas decs and I need to help dd begin her science project. It is due in 3 weeks but she is worrying about it so we are going to plan it tomorrow. I've also arranged to go and see a friend so it is going to be busy. It will be nice to begin getting back to some sort of normality now Christmas is over. I love the feeling of a New Year and fresh start.

Well from today's list upthread, I started my habit trackers but didn't to the calendar/diary. Or drink any coffee substituting wine right now

Welcome back to all the familiar faces, and welcome to any newbies lurking at the moment - join in, we're fine really!

I don't have Netflix, wish I did now - I love reading KonMarie's book but although I find the message inspiring it doesn't translate into action for me. It might this time

See you tomorrow!

No netflix here so I can't watch it.

I filled in my habit tracker for Jan yesterday and managed to tick everything on it (although I had to go for a late night walk to get my 10k steps and eat a pear when I got back for 5 a day). My NYR is to go upstairs earlier for 1/2 an hour of self care (flosding teeth, stretches, doing skincare properly etc then reading a book). Then in the morning to stop frittering time on MN and do emails, lists etc instead. So I'd better go and start.

Bower - it's lovely hearing about your new kitchen, you've got me wanting an Everhot now.

To all those feeling under the weather, hope things improve soon.

I wish i could leave my kitchen like that at night Bower i really struggle to keep on top of it Sad

Woken up very snotty Sad yuck

How long does the brace discomfort usually last zoo? My eldest will be having braces once all baby teeth out

Report
Stilllivinginazoo · 02/01/2019 07:53

Varies per child and depends on what's done I've
She has a twisted "fang" after big tooth grew down over baby one and after took baby one out it being coaxed down and straightened.ive heard if teeth come out and brace then pushes teeth into gaps less sore.she has a friend like that who barely notices tightening(bit discomfort end first day tightened, eating fine by next one)we are told soft food only at least couple of days and plenty pain medsSadit's sore within 4hours,then painful over night.worse day 2-3 then starts ease off usually by day 4-5 and within 10 days it goes completely(after 4-5 it's a discomfort that doesn't affect eating)adding in bottom brace this time and shortening wire on top set we were warned would be harder....
They offered her wax(extra cost) to put over brace points that rub/cause blisters/ulcers but that's not been an issue yet

She's FINALLY starting to doze.not good when dd1 arriving in an hour...we have no other days we can go together as her new job means often works weekend(events planner for independant brewery and does pop up bars at various events/sporting fixtures)

Mercury I did Marie kondo in the summer , I didn't get all the way through it as hit a bit of a wall with things like utility room, garage and shed! However I did clear a LOT of clutter and I do still fold her way which I love but dh doesn't!!

Woman welcome.
I’ve only had the kitchen finished on the 20th. I’m off work still so the test will be when I am tired. Not all the kitchen is back in as we need to paint the back wall again before the dresser goes back properly and I don’t like the colour DH chose. I’m not usually this tidy. Trying to get into a habit.
foxes still snotty here too. I woke up coughing a lot last night.

Meet oh dear I’ve started something. Start saving then.

Getting up soon. Must get back into school routine but tired from coughing and tempted to have another hour.
