Flying Resolutions for the Fledglings

Ok. 1st of January.

It's a long running thread, but we like new people. Just be aware if we seem cliquey it is simply because some of us have known each other for many mumble mumble years.

Respect. We won't tell you what you are doing wrong if you don't tell us. hint if you tell us we are doing it wrong we will tell you you are wrong

Babysteps. If you are new start here. If you dropped off the fly wagon, start here. Basically start here.

Missions. Do these, if you start with the babysteps you will end up doing these during the course of the month.

Decluttering - you can't clean clutter. But experience has shown that fly lady is good for routines but there are other methods that work better for decluttering. Feel free to mix and match.

Emails - feel free sign up to them. Most of us don't because there can be a lot, ergo whilst you are welcome to sign up for them; we don't generally recommend it. especially as one of the babysteps is to delete them anyway

Linkies. We will be linking to the launch pad from there you can get to babysteps, missions, flight plans etc etc. Be aware that some don't update until the date that they are on (eg looking at the links before midnight on Monday will not show the information for Tuesday iyswim)

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/01/2019 05:44

Hope this provides the extra boost you need cag

MsForestier · 29/01/2019 06:06

Fell off thread and and have clawed my way back by deep cleaning bathrooms. Back on schedule at last. Hope all are well.

MsForestier · 29/01/2019 06:08

Hope you are feeling okay I've and that nausea will abate soon.

IVEgottheDECAF · 29/01/2019 07:33

Dear god. Why do the dc keep making me wake them multiple times.....

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/01/2019 07:56

Because we both clearly need exercise of trail up and down stairs.repeatedly.and we enjoy ranting/dragging covers off them I've
Try the patented ice cold water in a mug.stick fingers in.sprinkle on faces.offer to pour over full mug.its my last resort but never soaked a mattress yet😂😂😂

MogTheSleepyCat · 29/01/2019 09:16

Good morning Fledglings.

I have a day at home with DS - he has a horrid cough and cold so we all had a very disturbed night. He was so tired and wanted to sleep but kept coughing himself awake resulting in wailing and sobbing, poor boy.

So he has a day in front of the TV with a blanket whilst I tackle some jobs at round the house.

Cag I can completely relate to the side effects of SSRIs, having been on and off them many times since my teens. I also get crazy rage over the most ridiculous things, like dropping my hair brush, my drink going cold, never mind DS's antics which can make me go nuclear... I then feel consumed with guilt at treating him like that when he is just being a little boy :(

Also for Cag - I remember from threads gone by that you family enjoy board games? DH treated us to Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective We played the first of ten cases last night and loved it; it felt like real 'quality time' with each other, completely away from screens and technology.

to SC Hills Foxes Zoo Bower I've MsF Sass and others I've missed.

And before I go, anyone else getting ready for the six nations? Anyone remember my Dragon from earlier threads? He's stirring from sleep..... ;)

Sproutingcorm · 29/01/2019 09:27

Ooooh I remember our fiery friend Mog lovely to have him back!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 29/01/2019 09:36

Morning everyone. Brew and Cake for those needing it.

Just got back from the school run. Must do tidying and things. Going to attempt some decluttering. Also might get a phone call about some freelance work so need to keep phone close by and wait for it to ring. Have that slightly nervous waiting for a phone call where I have to sell myself feeling.

Cag, Brew.

IVEgottheDECAF · 29/01/2019 09:53

Been off work for like 4 days, thought id feel so much better and refreshed. But i feel like a big steaming shit. Sad

Pity party in the naughty corner?

foxessocks · 29/01/2019 10:03

I'll join the pity party. I had to take dd friend to school today and it was stressful, lost the car keys, shouted at dh for losing the keys when it wasn't his fault Blush, apologised to dh but still feel crap. And ds has been in a bad mood all morning and I'm working today so he's gone to my mum's and I feel bad about that too Sad

Hope the phone call goes well toostressy I'm sure it will Smile

Right. I need to get on with stuff, do some work, some housework and take all the bottles to the bottle bank. I have a whole day I must use it wisely and stop moping!

Sproutingcorm · 29/01/2019 10:04

Hope you feel better soon I've . Take it steady. Might you have a virus as well as morning sickness? There's a lot of it about. I've just had to fetch DD home from school with stomach issues.

IVEgottheDECAF · 29/01/2019 10:06

I am just praying for six foot of snow to fall before i am back in work tomorrow

Sproutingcorm · 29/01/2019 10:08

Oh no Foxes Flowers. I'm sure your ds will have a lovely day with your ma - and you are working for his future - so try not to feel guilty!

Yes, good luck Toostressy!

Cagliostro · 29/01/2019 10:10

Hell yes to the pity party.

Just spent 57.5 minutes on the phone for the privilege of asking a doctor to call me later. 🙄

Yay 🐲🐉 (I can’t find the same dragon!)

It is quite scary the effect these meds can have right? Caglets are really picking up on it too. The combination of me being super on edge and DS getting “more autistic” (stimming more etc) by the day is not making for a happy life.

Another of my many tasks ahead is to try and get him re referred to hospital for ADHD/sensory assessment.

SO much to do. Just waiting for DH to return from the shops with caffeine. Last night was fun, didn’t sleep for ages and then baby was up 3.30-4.30 giggling and blowing raspberries on me 🤔 and then eventually fell asleep while feeding, draped across my neck 🤔😴

I’ve heard good things about that Sherlock Holmes game! Is it something kids could join in with? We’ve barely played anything lately but we did try my recent purchase of Organ Attack the other day. Lovely little game and the Caglets were joining in with relevant medical knowledge #smughomeedmum 😂😍

Sorry so many are feeling crap. Seems we are dropping like flies round here, January is normally a two thread month 😰

MsForestier · 29/01/2019 10:22

Snow here, turning to icy slush. Brought into the house to my lovely clean floors.

Cagliostro · 29/01/2019 10:33

Bringing some ferrero rocher to the naughty corner as DH found some on clearance! Woohoo!

A paramedic phoned me back 🧐surprised how fast but possibly because I used the words mental health 🤷‍♀️ Anyway they want me to go in to see someone so I will have to get ready soon 😣

MsForestier · 29/01/2019 10:35

Oh Cags. Glad they are getting an appointment for you. Hopefully new meds will help.

Sproutingcorm · 29/01/2019 10:50

Good luck Cag 🙋(that's meant to be a helping hand but looks like emoticon hailing a cab)

foxessocks · 29/01/2019 11:49

Hope it goes well cag and you get some solutions.

How did the phonecall go toostressy?

Thanks sc I'm just feeling all the guilt at the moment! I'm just being silly really. Ds was fine when my mum picked him up.

Ta da
Done some work
Dishwasher on
Washing on
Wiped sides
Cleaned bathroom

Plan now is to do the meal plan and online food shop, tidy up upstairs and sort the laundry and then go and do bottle bank and nip to the shop, back home for lunch, then I have to pick dd and her friend up, take her friend home then pick ds up. Phew. At least my teeth aren't as painful today, getting much better zoo you were right about peaking at 48 hours then get slowly better. I can eat a bit easier now too which is mostly what was bothering me!!

SassitudeandSparkle · 29/01/2019 16:06

I have been out virtually the entire day so far, partly due to the amount of roadworks and slow-moving traffic as I made my way to various points of our town Angry Gotta go through them a few more times tonight with DD too, such a waste of time. One of them is a burst water main, no workmen for a few days now due to more serious bursts elsewhere.

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/01/2019 18:02

I am beyond tired it's getting ridiculous!!had 2 hour nap thisorning, did lunch and could cheerfully have settled back I n bed again!!!
Now laying reading wishing I could sleep instead dish up casserole that's ready for zoolets as soon get off my arse and sort couscous!!
Foxes glad things improving
Cag hope you got on okFlowers

HillsBesideTheSea · 29/01/2019 18:21

bower hope you are ok with the snow.

Took 20mins to clear my car of ice, snow and slushy just so that I could drive home on treacherously snow and icy roads. So that several inches of snow over night is not looking impossible here ive 50mph speed limit roads only drivable at 20mph due to snow, and fog conditions. either it needs to drop temperature and stick properly (and thus be clearable) or sod off. This icy water droplet stuff is horrid!
