Flying Resolutions for the Fledglings

HillsBesideTheSea · 01/01/2019 01:16

Ok. 1st of January.

It's a long running thread, but we like new people. Just be aware if we seem cliquey it is simply because some of us have known each other for many mumble mumble years.

Respect. We won't tell you what you are doing wrong if you don't tell us. hint if you tell us we are doing it wrong we will tell you you are wrong

Babysteps. If you are new start here. If you dropped off the fly wagon, start here. Basically start here.

Missions. Do these, if you start with the babysteps you will end up doing these during the course of the month.

Decluttering - you can't clean clutter. But experience has shown that fly lady is good for routines but there are other methods that work better for decluttering. Feel free to mix and match.

Emails - feel free sign up to them. Most of us don't because there can be a lot, ergo whilst you are welcome to sign up for them; we don't generally recommend it. especially as one of the babysteps is to delete them anyway

Linkies. We will be linking to the launch pad from there you can get to babysteps, missions, flight plans etc etc. Be aware that some don't update until the date that they are on (eg looking at the links before midnight on Monday will not show the information for Tuesday iyswim)

eust I think this on a daily basis...if it weren't for "stuff"y house would be much easier to get on top of.i think it breeds when we aren't lookingWink
SC I love pussy willow, and lambs.daffs and snowdrops...I'd hate to live in a place without seasons!!
I'veBrewthe tired stick is to be expected at the mo.how are you feeling otherwise?
Foxes remember if you are in pain your pain receptors are increased by faster pulse as blood pounds to the site iyswim?rest is the way forward and watch out for flailing toddler fists to the face
Glad narrowed down decorating choices bower.pain about chosen rolls being all gone tho!

Trailed from shop to shop gathering supplies
Feel like tired stick has tried to batter me senseless.i think a nap may be in order now all shoppings away and we are all fed and watered!!

foxessocks · 27/01/2019 13:55

Excellent advice zoo and the perfect excuse for me to sit on the sofa!

The dc are extremely tired and arguing constantly today. Luckily ds hasn't had any flailing limbs near my mouth but I did just shout and now I can taste blood! Not great!

foxessocks · 27/01/2019 13:55

Nap sounds good zoo Smile

EustaciaVye · 27/01/2019 15:37

I added an extra bag. Just took 7 to charity shop Shock

EustaciaVye · 27/01/2019 15:38

Zoo - you are right, everything would be easier to stay on top of without crap everywhere

IVEgottheDECAF · 27/01/2019 16:05

Honestly less than two years ago we lived in a house half the size of this one. When we moved in it was so spacious. Now you cant move for shit and i swear im no crazy horder.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 27/01/2019 16:33

I wish I knew about the stuff Sad.

Sounds as if it’s definitely sensible to rest foxes; I know that’s not really possible with young DC though.

Ta da:-
Laundry finally under control - I have spent hours on it today Confused.
Took DDs swimming
Have started tea

MogTheSleepyCat · 27/01/2019 17:15

I fell off the thread .... (been too busy reading in my spare time as trying to reduce my screen time)

Busy day today:

Ta Da
Hoovered three bedrooms, bathroom, landing and stairs
Stripped bed
x3 loads in WM
DW unloaded
Emptied kitchen cupboards of out of date ingredients (any one for dried rosemary from 2008? No?)
Meal planned to keep me on track at slimming world
Online grocery shop
Decluttered old kettle, coffee machine and single bed to new homes
Deep clean of bathroom - scrubbed basin, loo, bath, wiped down storage unit, polished chrome towel rail and fittings, steam mopped.
Dinner prepped.

Still to do:
Minimal ironing to see me through next week
Hoover living room
Fold laundry

Stilllivinginazoo · 27/01/2019 19:10

nap accomplished
Yoga done
School uniforms all washed(incl pe kits),dry and in correct places
Chivvied for packed school bags
Zoolets showered
Nit checked lil zoo(outbreak in her class said the letter) -so far so good..
Pasta pesto with veg and cheese for little ones.lil zoo has a bad throat (again) and is consuming a rocket lolly now

I've had a mad fishwife screaming ab dabs moment...lil zoo has already left sweetie wrappers and clothes on her tidy room floorAngrythink she's got the message as the wrappers were dramatically thrown in the bin and doors were slammed

Can't wait for call the midwife

Bowerbird5 · 27/01/2019 22:19

zoo could you put link on yoga please? Was it YouTube? I quite fancy that. Can remember fish wife moments and I lived in a fishing village where there were older generations of fish wives🙂

Mog an impressive list. The knack is a visit once a day minimum to stay connected😊some of us manage more on here posting and less cleaning...not really the idea but we like it!

Thanks I think I like the pussy willow grey the best but do like the tulips but they had no paint to match in stock. They did have the paint for pussy willow, silver and pale eau de nil so if DH wants to do it on Wednesday ( new set date) he will have to agree or drive to find other paint😊 I got another 10% off by ordering a card which I will pay off when it arrives. Can buy this week on sale price with 10% off too. Might get some fabric forwindow treatment.

Didn’t get much done as lazed in bed went to church, LAshleys, home, sent email, sandwich, station and choir. Pub for tea. DS1 didn’t turn up so hope he is ok. DH said he probably fell asleep but as a mum I can’t help worrying. No answer to message or phone but might have had to stay at work. Right off to sleep as busy day tomorrow. Washing in machine ready.

Stilllivinginazoo · 28/01/2019 04:43

If you put dedicate yoga adriene into Google it comes up bower I've no idea how to do links on here incompetant

Bowerbird5 · 28/01/2019 06:47

Thanks soo. Not incompetent I wouldn’t know either. Some people here can put photos, links etc. I don’t have a clue.

Awake but don’t want to get up.

HOW TO DO LINKS

Bower and Zoo Hello! I am crap with technology but just dropping in to say that links are really easy! Honestly!

Most links are converted automatically nowadays (depending on device you are using) so all you have to do is cut and paste (ie post!) a web address on the thread and it will become a link by magic. A web address link usually starts with www or http.

www.flylady.net/

If it doesn't convert automatically to a clicky link then all you have to do is put double square brackets around it. Simple!

In the event you want to call it something else instead of just posting web address e.g. "Flylady website here" then just post the website address surrounded by double square brackets again. Then insert one or two spaces after web address and type Flylady website here inside last pair of double square brackets.

Try it, it's really straightforward! Honest! Smile

Flylady website here

Voila!

Sproutingcorm · 28/01/2019 10:11

How to add a photo

Basically all you do is, depending on device, go to foot of page, and click on "choose file" which will then take you to the selection of photos on your computer and device and you choose one. It takes a little while to upload. On a hand held tablet, you click on the paper clip icon to do the same thing!

foxessocks · 28/01/2019 12:34

sc I can do links but didn't know about the square brackets thing so thanks!! Smile

Today is not really going to plan. Plans for the week keep changing and I'm now just totally confused! And my teeth still hurt (although much better!)

Cagliostro · 28/01/2019 13:30

Hi guys, slinking in shamefaced.

Coming off this stuff is getting beyond a joke. Was actually in tears earlier. Fucksake.

Both of us wrote to do lists for today, but it took several hours to even be able to get up. So far my achievements are:
Got dressed
Helped write a shopping list
Concentrated for most of a TV show on Netflix while the others were at the park, I also drank plenty of water
Phoned Tesco to change delivery plan and card details (not actually the top priority (tax return anyone?) but I got a text saying the card was declined and realised it was DH’s which had to be cancelled recently due to fraud, but we wanted to change the plan anyway so I phoned up and then followed their instructions online.

DH is making me lunch and then I’m hoping Cagletini will doze as she hasn’t yet. And then the big two can go upstairs while DH and I do some more list things. One of the symptoms of SSRI withdrawal is irritability, I would describe it more as uncontrollable rage, I really can’t cope with my own kids ATM, they are stimmy and loud and bouncy and I keep snapping at them 😰

Enough ranting from me sorry. Much love. Xx

Cagliostro · 28/01/2019 13:46

Oh and DH registered me for a postal vote, as that was one of the things on my list and it was something he could do (it’s ordering a form anyway which I will have to fill in but at least the initial bit is done)

And I opened my email and scrolled down a bit, I was getting major anxiety about it.

Now on hold to doctor as I’m hoping someone could phone me. I’ve found out you can get paroxetine in liquid form, which would mean I could reduce very slowly indeed. It’s expensive but I’m not actually sure I can cope with going from 10mg to nothing.

All this for a medication that didn’t even work. Fuck. This. Shit.

SassitudeandSparkle · 28/01/2019 13:54

Keep on the painkillers foxes, DD's surgery described it as a headache in your gums!

Been tidying the main bathroom today - oh my word, I need to declutter some toiletries but will do that another time. At least the windowsill is clear and all the shampoo/conditioners are together now. There is not much storage in there so I have large plastic baskets on the floor underneath the sink area. I would love to get it down to just one box but there is so.much.stuff.

Done quite a few loads of laundry too, trying to quell the mountain (again, I think some of this will end up out of the house). At least I've got the tidying and decluttering bug, long may it last!

Cagliostro · 28/01/2019 15:18

Can’t speak to doctor till tomorrow for a same day phone call, so setting an alarm for 8.20! Not so great as I’m rarely sleeping before 3.

Made myself a nice lunch though, and cagletini too (DH put some crispy chicken things in the oven for me, I made a salad with chilli mayo and put it in a wrap it was gorgeous, I must remember how much nicer it was next time I’m craving a maccy d wrap 😳

Feeling a bit more human now, DH is unwell too unfortunately so it’s feeling harder to get anything done

HillsBesideTheSea · 28/01/2019 16:57

I actually follow her and have used some of her older videos.
