Looked at boy dungeon/girls crapnest(does that count?!)
I've no idea where to start in either.floors disappeared under empty drink bottles, clothes(clean and dirty I think, bits of paper etc....)
Suggestions

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 28/06/2018 09:52

zoo i know your dc are older than mine but i opperate a strict policy of. Screen time = tidy room and washing sorted for ds1&2

HonkyWonkWoman · 28/06/2018 10:19

Dungeon and Crapnest GrinGrinGrin, shouldn't laugh zoo but reminded me of Dd room yonks ago, I used to have to "muck it out" like stables.
Funnily enough, when she went to Uni, the first time I visited her rooms, I walked in and thought she hadn't unpacked her suitcase, as the floor was clear and the room immaculate. I said, "where are all your clothes" and she looked at me as if I'd lost the plot and opened her wardrobe door. I nearly fell through the floor! 😂😂😂
My Ds was the opposite and always immaculate, still is!

Ta da
Open all doors and windows
Feed dog and cat
Swish and swipe
Kitchen tops, and job
Sweep floor and mop
Decide to make all veg in fridge into Soup and mess it all up again. Hmm
Look at carpet and decide if can wait another day.

To do
Walk Buffydog - not far in this heat
Top up Food Shopping
Go to library to go on computers as trying to do Visas for Turkey for ten of us and it doesn't seem to like the ipad.
Boots for Sun tan lotion etc.
Got Dgs again after school
Cool him down
Make him practice Guitar as Grade exam in 2 weeks.

Oh! Talking of exams! My twin Dgd's are at Newcastle Uni and last night rang me from Tenerife and they have both got Firsts bursts with pride, and puts it all down to her genes 😂😂😂

Stilllivinginazoo · 28/06/2018 10:40

Wonderful news honky
I've biggest offender is dd2 tbh.lil zoo will clear up instantly if asked(her side is more discarded pictures she's drawing try distract from her tummyache when trying to sleep.her laundry makes it into a basket
She also upends D's room when she can't find things "as he might have taken it"Hmm
She's currently got no phone,no computer rights and she's still wearing a chip large enough to feed a family of four for a fortnight and attitude a plenty

Doc rang me back.return to previous anti spasmodics for lil zoo and yet another different laxative to try as he's shocked she still only going 2-3x a week even with the meds..might ring hospital again and chase up her app there as I left message yesterday and no one got back to me

Scoopofchaff · 28/06/2018 11:39

Hellooooo to everyone!

Fantastic news about your dgts' result Honkywonk - many congratulations to them!

Good luck with your long day Bowerbird (hope palpitations do not return) and with dungeon and crapnest Zoo (bravery award due after that)

Glad you had a reasonable night Cag

Arf at big brother I've

Waves to Foxes, Toostressy, Goth, Honu Cordelia Hills Whoknows and loads of fledglings I have missed.

Sorry - rushing - we were all at school at crack of sparrows this morning to receive dd's end-of-year report and exam results. (Off for celebratory lunch now (half of which dh will have to miss because of work) and then out with friends this evening (for which I am doing a bit of cooking).

Hope everyone surviving the heat!

Btw, just while I think about it ...

Thread business ...

Btw - Toostressy - looking back, I hope I didn't leap on your very kind offer to run July thread too speedily. You always sound so busy so just wanted to check that it's not too much on top of everything else?

I am departing on "hols" a week later than expected because of dh's work, so can carry on doing first week if that is any help?

Hello!

Ta daas - walked into town for a hair consultation and to return something.
Laundry done.
Swish and swipe done.

To do - daily mission.
Shopping.
15 mins de-cluttering.
Hot spots.

I'm also going to go for a wander around the park with SIL in a bit, she has just moved to the same city as us so we are helping her to get her bearings! She is finding it rough as the move is post-breakup and she is such a lovely human, I was in a similar position to her myself a few years ago so its good to chat to her.

GoingGoingGoth · 28/06/2018 12:40

Whoooooop!

After it taking 3 hours yesterday to get DD to do her maths revision I was woken up by her this morning telling me she had done today's!
And she's listening. And starting to get it! (Algebra)

Maths was followed by us charging round finishing clearing cupboards before builders arrived. Was on last few bitsfrom our "shed" cupboard being shoved into garden when they arrived at 9:15.

DH has taken DD out (and to do posting) as we're trapped in the living room today.

I've managed to get to the washing lines in the close before the upstairs neighbour so I've got 2 loads of bedding out & dried, they're just in and towels are out to be followed by winter coats. AND unlike some I haven't hogged all the lines.

Can't believe it's only 12:30 feel like we've got a lot done already.
I've also got a 1-2-1 crochet class at 4pm.

We may have to have takeaway tonight - depends when plasterer turns up

Good luck for today/tomorrow Cags

Stilllivinginazoo · 28/06/2018 13:21

Hope the park walk help her stegI find being outside in nature helps perk me up when life's getting on top of me
Goth wanna come take my teen into that kinda submission?Grin

I am sat on my arse still contemplating alternative ideas for cold main meals in warm weather as none zoolets will eat anything warm and I feel like a slayterntastic/bad m giving then sandwiches and veggie sticks might after night?!

Stilllivinginazoo · 28/06/2018 13:22

What's a slayterntastic?!Confused
Should've said slattern/bad mum....

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 28/06/2018 13:23

Quiche?
Pasta salad?
Cold pizza....

Scoopofchaff · 28/06/2018 15:32

I am taking quiche and salad to friend's tonight. DC often like mini-quiches?

Often roast a chicken early in the morning in this weather to eat cold. Have it in sandwiches, with cous-cous salad, pesto pasta etc etc???

Have just spoken to my sister who is prepping panzanella as I type.

Egg and bacon salad with some sort of frisée lettuce and dressing?

Three bean salad?

Prosciutto (or equiv?) with melon?

Greek salad with feta cheese? (And chips - as they serve it over here ?)

Sardines on toast with chopped parsley and lemon juice?

Muffins or pikelets with melted cheese/toms? (Not exactly cold but just 5 mins under grill.)

OP posts:
foxessocks · 28/06/2018 15:50

Last night we had French stick with cheese, cold meats, cold chicken legs, cucumber and crisps. It was great I love that kind of dinner ! I had the same for lunch today. Tonight though it's leftover chilli we had in the freezer and jacket potatoes. But I don't feel too hot at the moment so that's ok.

Finished my work finally, dc both home and bouncing off the walls, need to have a Brew and do as much housework as is possible before dinner time.

Ta da
Washing
Dishwasher been on
Started meal planning

To do
Finish daily routine
More washing
15 minutes living room
Detailed hoover living room

WhoKnowsWhereTheW1neGoes · 28/06/2018 16:27

We've been eating a lot of cold food too, however I draw the line at cold pizza and pasta salad, I can't bear either. Quiches are so much nicer hot too. Tonight it's going to be leftover curry for DS, pre-cooked moules mariniere and baguette/salad for DD and I (DH has gone back to see DFIL again).

I'm sitting under a shady tree 100m from a bus stop waiting for DD putting off Flying. She doesn't need me to but I was passing on the way home from the shops. If her friend is with her I need to leg it to save her embarrassment Grin.

Stilllivinginazoo · 28/06/2018 16:29

Mine think cold pizza is for savagesConfused
Some good ideas guys,thanks!

After my 1.5 hr round trip I'm sweating like a racehorse and am feeling a tad faint.the cooling wind seemed to abandon me enroute to collect lil zoo and then we had go get her new meds

My neice had her 6th baby yesterday(and sterilised same time as c sect).pics on FB today(my family splintered many years ago)he's adorable and I can feel my broody feathers appearing at a rate of knots☹️

Scoopofchaff · 28/06/2018 16:47

Gosh, I love cold pizza!

If you take a bog standard fresh or frozen supermarket version, bake in oven, then cut in to tiny squares with scissors to have with drinks etc, I swear it tastes better than the sum of its parts ifyswim! DC tend to love them too although I suppose they are warm rather than cold.

Must admit I don't like cold pasta; can sometimes be a bit "claggy" ?

OP posts:
foxessocks · 28/06/2018 17:08

Have to admit I'm not a huge fan of cold pizza. I prefer quiche cold though!

I'm hungry now...

Ta da
Swish and swipe bathroom
Finished daily routine
Put another wash on
Decluttered small you baskets in living room
Jacket potatoes in oven

Decided it's too hot for hoovering (now I've done all that I am too hot again!) . Also remembered dh spilt his beer on the carpet yesterday so he can wet Vax the living room tomorrow instead , that counts as detailed hoovering anyway!

To do
Heat up chilli for dinner
Get washing in
Unload dishwasher
Take rubbish out
Hang up the rest of the washing later
Water plants
Feed cat

Cagliostro · 28/06/2018 17:31

Hmm no I tend to side with the zoolets on cold pizza. If we ever have leftovers from a takeaway it is reheated for lunch! Cold pasta... well I wouldn’t do it myself but I do like a spinach and feta pasta salad that M&S do - I used to have it for lunch a lot in college 😂

My day took some interesting turns 🤔 I was on the way to town (thankfully early so I could grab something to eat 😳) and while on the bus I got a message from the carpet cleaner, his other jobs had been messed up so could he fit us in right now. This seemed better so I said yes, luckily I’d grabbed the last key (we have like five 🙄) for the new house although it turned out DH had also thought to separate the others so I had some in the buggy anyway. I got straight over there thanks to a good bus connection, let him in then got back to town to get cash out for his payment and meet the others from trampolining.

But felt really quite unwell (dizzy - made worse due to the heat, it was epic out there today 😖🔥☀️) so by the time the others turned up I was frazzled, I asked DH to fit in seeing the cleaner once he’d finished which I knew was a bit of a faff before work but I couldn’t manage to get up to the new house again as well as doing the badgers/cadets run tonight. So I went to sit in the ice cream place with friends as planned but felt worse and worse as time went on (we were there ages as there’s a soft play). Actually ended up calling DH to come back which I haven’t needed to do in years! But I was that dizzy. So he ran back ❤️⭐️ got me upright, put me in a taxi home. Friend brought cagletini back on the bus ❤️⭐️ (I know she can technically go in a taxi without a car seat but in any case getting her out and folding/unfolding the buggy etc was more than I could handle).

Anyway. Home safe now and am going to take a nap with cagletini. DH has taken the Caglets off to their event thing. I am feeling a little bit better now as it’s cooler indoors (a big feature of POTS is heat intolerance which causes dropped blood pressure etc). Put a wash on and will have a curry later. I’ve been neglecting my salt intake (counterintuitively very important in POTS) so that seems a legit way of helping 😂 the others will be eating in the town where badgers is so not worrying about them.

Soooo that was my day, how are the rest of you doing 😂
