Of course it counts ive it’s decluttering. I’m decluttering chocolate digestives.

Hi Who so sorry about your bereavement 💐 be kind to yourself, I think in these circumstances one just has to do whatever it takes to get through each day 💐

Wow sc you are really flying through those BRCs lately! It’s great when you can amalgamate lots of them into one smaller amount. Although I dislike being left with all the random shizz I don’t know what to do with (basically my whole house ATM 🧐🙄)

Well, DD has been collected by friend and I set up her first (wonderfully geeky) email address 😱 and a parent link control thingy for her phone (eg she has to get my permission to download any games etc). DS is now outside playing football with DH until DSD gets here, she returned from Japan at the weekend.

Also earlier DHphoned the landlord and told them we are leaving! Eeeek! It’s all really sinking in now. Apparently she was pleasantly surprised that we actually have given her the heads up and told her. As if after ten years we’d just bugger off and stop paying rent. WTF? Wondering if she’s had some bad experiences before us, I’m sure she only had short term tenants before us though.

Soooooo much to do. I am feeling so much happier though, since that most recent visit to the house. I think it’s finally hit me that basically we can do what we like with it - obviously it is not OUR property but HA rules are that we can decorate, put shelves up etc with complete freedom (it is only more structural changes - eg taking cupboard out to fit a dishwasher which we hope to do someday - that we need to ask permission for, after living there for a year). I have never had this. Just knowing we can actually choose colours and wallpaper and (eventually) flooring, and paint what WE want, it’s HUGE! And I’m seeing the potential and imagining how it could look, planning the garden etc... I know it will take a long time to get there but OMG. For the first time I will have a house to be proud of. ❤️⭐️

Stilllivinginazoo · 25/06/2018 11:25

cag i know exactly what you mean(mines council, but same regards decorating ,shelves etc) naw at DD and her phone/email address
SC impressive declutteringStar.DD is making pasta bake

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 25/06/2018 12:49

Ready salted im afraid. Cheese and onion is like eating smelly feet

firehousedog · 25/06/2018 13:07

I don't think i'm ever going to be able to eat a packet of cheese and onion crisps again now Confused funnily enough I'm having crisp butty with stilton and cheddar in the remainder of yesterday's French stick for my lunch. Ready salted crisps though.

Ended up going Tesco as I realised its my Aunt's birthday on Wednesday and I needed a card.

ta da

And they are tiny! I've

Scoopofchaff · 25/06/2018 15:03

Not getting much choring done.

DD is in her usual post-exam "hyper" state.

So far today together we have gone to stationery shop, had lunch at salad bar, bathed the dog and framed some long-lost photos.

And dd on her own has baked a cake, gone for a run, and is now studying coronary heart disease for "fun" via the Khan Academy on-line.

She's usually like this for three or four days and then goes in to dormouse mode for another three or four, then emerges back in to her usual self.

Smile

Ta da (aside from things listed below):

emptied dw
folded sheets
2 x wm on
2 x td
2 x hung up on terrace to dry
moved boxes around in office so window cleaner has easy path
e-mails to family about upcoming birthdays
bought one present on-line
wrote two cards
posted one card
wrapped one present

Disheartened.
Tried to declutter, sort boxes and generally tidy up in boudoir and home office.

It looks so much worse than when I started.

Sad

Scoopofchaff · 25/06/2018 17:42

Also feeling reallymiffed with dh who was "too busy" to take half a day off with me to sort out some really important stuff end last/beginning this week, but is suddenly available at very short notice to spend entire "bromance" day in country tomorrow when one of his mates is passing through town.

Miffed is an understatement actually. I don't object to him spending day with friend at all - in fact I have been encouraging him to do more of that sort of thing - it's his sudden availiablity that I am fucked off about.

Angry
OP posts:
Cagliostro · 25/06/2018 18:00

That's really crap of him Sc he seems to be brilliant at finding time when it suits him, given his ability to be home in time for the england match the other day as well

Sympathies with the worse looking house mid declutter. I know it only too well!

Scoopofchaff · 25/06/2018 18:11

Thank you Cag! Smile Don't get me wrong - he works all hours - and deserves a break. I just feel a bit as though I am at bottom of priority list atm!

I don't know what I am doing wrong re: decluttering. All this effort and the two rooms are destroyed Sad

Really, really glad to hear that you are feeling happier about move though! It will be fantastic to be able to paint and decorate as you wish and really make it your own home! Flowers

Fantastic list there Goth!

Firehousedog all my friends and relations seem to have birthdays in July! I have spent two hrs today sorting cards and presents!

I definitely agree about cheese and onion flavour crisps having the faint whiff of unwashed toes about them!

How did you get on at docs Zoo?

Waves to Toostressy and everyone else!

Just read through quickly, the walk and sniffing is Buffydog not me!😂

foxessocks · 25/06/2018 19:55

DD is now systematically destroying the kitchen by cooking chocolate brownies and another cake whilst listening to loud French rap Grin. She hasn't stopped all day ... .

Anyone, enough of my personal whinge fest.. here are the links for tomorrow!

G'night all!

Baby step no. 26 for Tues 26th June is here! Don't give up if you miss a day! Slow down! You are never behind with Flylady!

We are in Zone 5 all this week: The Living Room, Den, Family Room (June 24-30). Spend 15 mins a day decluttering this area (and/or do a mission!).

If you are at the stage where you have finished decluttering Zone 5, here is the detailed cleaning list for the sitting room etc.

Tuesday's mission is: here. Spend 5 mins or so decluttering sitting room & play room. Get rid of any decorative items or clutter that you don't truly love!

Tuesday's daily focus is: planning. Medical appts, holidays, menus, birthday presents, wardrobes, meals etc etc.

The monthly habit for June is keeping hydrated by drinking lots of water.

A summary of the above (which should update itself daily) can be found in the flight plan here.

You are doing brilliantly everyone! Keep on going!

It is too fucking hot!
And I am cooking crumble in the oven Confused

Alarm clock set for stupid o'clock and shortly heading to bed in what appears to be a sauna. After I have drunk smoothie made with frozen berries because apparently ds ate all the ice cubes and was under the illusion that the freezer self generates them rather than he has to refill the stupid thingy if he wants more

GoingGoingGoth · 25/06/2018 22:10

DD school breaks up tomorrow at 1 pm.
Is 1:15 to early to start drinking?
She's been helpful this evening - so now I'm really suspicious

Ran out out of momentum this afternoon but I did manage a long walk this evening to get my 10k steps in

Tomorrow is another day and hopefully one where I get my plants watered & my aloe vera repotted

Cagliostro · 25/06/2018 22:35

ta da
✅dryer on
✅reminded DH to pick up fabric softener and he put a wash on
✅found out info about paying rent
✅DH phoned current landlords and told them we are leaving (still need to put it in writing though)
✅tae kwon do
✅cancelled sports club for tomorrow as a few people are away anyway
✅responded to new home edders wanting info about the club (so more potential business, woo)
✅contacted a much recommended painter and decorator, we aren’t going to get anything done yet but when it is time I would rather pay someone really.

Yet again no actual packing or decluttering or anything 😱

WhoKnowsWhereTheW1neGoes · 25/06/2018 22:44

Thank you all for your kind words re bereavement, it was DMIL, unexpectedly after a very short illness. I am going to really miss her.

Anyway, I didn't keep up with the other June thread, so have read through this one to catch up a bit with everyone. Not a huge amount of Flying, but Goth has reminded me about walking, I have managed 18,000 steps today. A short walk before everyone else got up, a lot of walking around at DD's Sports Day today (sweltering) and a long-ish walk tonight then home via watering the allotment. Unfortunately I've had a flare-up of plantar fasciitis again (had it really badly last summer) so I need to go and do a lot of stretching before bed.

Bowerbird5 · 26/06/2018 07:23

Sorry to hear that.

😳 50 posts only caught up with end of last thread. Lost thread I had just written. Damn! Be back later as off to make pancakes as mentioned on other thread...now I want some! With bacon and maple syrup and if I am quick I can do it.
