Or try to anyway!

All welcome! I am struggling to stay awake so I’ll do the proper thread stuff tomorrow, but if you’d like some encouragement and chat while you get your house sorted then this is the place for you. We follow flylady in a delightfully lax sort of fashion.

Special thanks to zoo for the title idea 💐 😘

I've been utterly exhausted this week
Struggling get up and needing daytime napsSad
If no better by midweek think trip doctor maybe in order....

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 12/05/2018 07:52

Honestly zoo this ones terrible sleep habits are crushing me like a wotsit under a mug of tea

Cagliostro · 12/05/2018 08:37

:( sorry you guys are so exhausted. But like a wotsit under a mug of tea is brilliant :o

I achieved precious little yesterday. Caglets were still poorly (no more puke but lots of coughing) so they only did a very few bits of HE. Got four loads of laundry to put away today. And seriously need to wash all the towels.

I went to the doctors appt, lots of travelling involved but I spent lots of time with a lovely nurse (I was the last patient of the day so she was at a loose end) who cuddled/wandered round with the baby and chatted about parenting and home ed! So nice. Anyway apparently I show signs of both overactive thyroid and metabolic syndrome Confused and I’m super annoyed that the GPs have evidently not told me all my blood results in the past as it means various things have been missed! Including the fact that while I am not diabetic, my hbA1c was still a bit high. Of course I’d just decluttered my testing kits from when I had GD Hmm.

Anyway he was a lovely specialist, he’s given me forms for detailed blood tests ASAP and then 3 months later, as he wants to see if things are changing or staying the same. Other than that to just continue the weight loss, which he was very nice about! I’ve found it so hard though - they did a BMI check and I seem to have put on a couple of pounds since the last weigh in :( but will check on the usual digital scales I use in town. Have definitely continued losing inches though as my trousers are getting looser all the time. I just have fuck all willpower when I’m tired. Which is always :(

Cag, how annoying to find out all the issues with your bloods, glad it sounds as if you have a plan now.

Grin at squashed wotsit.

Hope you had a good night foxes.

Big wing flaps to everyone else.

Ta da:-
DD2 dancing done, just about to go and pick up DD1.
Thank you cards that we need to write started (hardly ever write them but I think it’s nice to sometimes).
Discussion with DDs about need to tidy as we go along Confused.
Lunch eaten
One load of laundry
DH just started washing his car

To do:-
Get DD1
Reading with both girls
Wash my car (hopefully DH will do this)
DD1 says she is going to help me look again at cupboard of doom in living room... we shall see!

foxessocks · 12/05/2018 15:43

I need a nap! Not even because I went out last night but because my head is just all fuzzy from a cold / hay fever.

How did the cupboard of doom go toostressy? I need to pull some of the furniture out in DD room later with dh help to try and find a lost toy Hmm maybe I should tell dd about the importance of tidying as she goes along too! Good idea!

Ta da
Daily routine
Dishwasher on again
Got some bits from the shop

To do
See above re missing toy
Make toad in the hole for dinner with random leftovers from the freezer to accompany it ...could be interesting

My mind is telling me to get all the stuff done. My body is telling me to sit down. My body is winning at this point!

I would join you on the sofa, but it currently feels like too much effort to move from the sofa I’m already on!

I’m in my usual weekend funk 😰 would have gone out today as there was a free STEM event but DS wasn’t well enough. Better than yesterday though. Girls are fine too.

Seriously need a plan. I never get round to making one though. It’s DH’s last run tomorrow (a mere half marathon and then he’s working in the afternoon) but we have other stuff going on throughout the month that just exhausts me to even think of TBH. Even though it’s all nice stuff.

I think weekends are just destined to be shit now. But it’s a trade off for DH having 3 weekdays off, which means he can do more of the club runs.

Right time to make dinner. Super late.

OP posts:
TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 12/05/2018 20:06

Cupboard not too bad thanks foxes. DD1 helped a tiny bit and we agreed we could get rid of some bubble wrap and also some bits for the play kitchen and toy pram that we never use (absolutely no point keeping to sell as they are trashed after years of use). So we have a few spare areas in the slightly rubbish storage we put in there. Next step is to sort out the stationary / pens / craft stuff that was nicely filed away in filing cabinet thing that had to go to DD1’s room. That will have to be another day now.

Cag Flowers, I know it’s not super positive but I agree actually, I think if you accept that weekends will be shit and weekdays will be better than at least you are prepared, rather than hoping for better and getting your hopes dashed each weekend.

Ta da:-
Dishwasher on, tea eaten
Family film on

To do:-
Need to fold laundry and sort a BRC of paper while we watch the film

Cagliostro · 13/05/2018 00:14

Quiet today! Were y’all watching Eurovision? I’m not particularly a fan but ended up watching anyway since baby was feeding. Moldova was my fave. 🇲🇩

Evening calmed down a bit once I’d done dinner although I got so frustrated with myself again at being so slow. Took me like ten minutes just to peel and chop a sweet potato FFS. It was yum though (sausage and chorizo tomato stew with rice and peas, remainder of stew will be turned into a pasta bake tomorrow, I need to buy cheese). Then had a panic as DD seemed to be getting a spot on her lip and I’m worried about cold sores as baby is still small, I think it actually isn’t one (from what people have said - none of us have ever had one) but I’m still going to ask the pharmacist tomorrow and until then she understands not to touch anyone etc.

Yup you’re right it’s just a matter of acceptance really. I need to prepare for the weekends to make them as bearable as possible though. We don’t normally have plans as all our social stuff tends to be in the week! DD just plays out (which involves a lot of coming in and out unless I’m really strict about it - this had stopped bothering me, but now with the baby I would really rather not be disturbed constantly especially with my boobs out :o) and DS either joins them or stays in wanting endless telly and leaping and spinning around the living room. I’ve definitely accepted there’s no point planning housework though, other than normal stuff like laundry.

Must try and sleep now!

Well done Ivegot

House an utter mess. Abandoned routines and household now feral. Starting again with Flylady....

Bowerbird5 · 13/05/2018 07:36

Morning all. Didn't get on yesterday as too busy😳. I did seven hours of school work. Washing. Gardening. Went to pub. Had a M&S curry or two DH back home so he bought several including bits. Not good for the weight I am trying to lose but can't say anything. I did fancy curry but not quite as much. I had to leave some of mine.

He was a bit moany about the garden. I don't know how he expects me to get everything done. I need to enlist some help as my wrist is supposed to be rested. Ha ha! Anyway I enjoyed new greenhouse as it was actually warm in their yesterday so planted some late seeds and repotted some small ones. Potted two hanging baskets. Just have three more to do but I need some lining for those. Not keen on the bees and wasps sharing the space as I am allergic. I hadn't considered them being in there and being plastic there isn't a roof vent. Tomatoes are looking good so I will need to repot those soon. Quite excited to have some tomatoes as I have never been successful and gave up years ago. Son1 is a whizz at growing them and DD grew lots last year but she does live in the south. Those two have the gardening genes from both sides of the families.
Friday I managed to change sheets and clean bathroom and vacuum before going to work. Then I felt a bit unwell and missed a meeting😣
I am also bit fed up with health problems. I seem to be lurching from one to another to another. I have hay fever now. Have a new prescription to try this week. Also feeling tired and dozy I didn't associate it with the hay fever so thanks foxes fuzzy is how my head feels too. Sinussy.
Today
Mass
Choir
Anything else I get done. Washing in towels missed yesterday. Dishwasher on. DH didn't put it on last night.
The house is so, so quiet and I have tea and IPad. Bliss!

Bowerbird5 · 13/05/2018 07:41

We've only been up for an hour and already dh and dd have argued and me and dh have argued AngrySad I hate it when a day starts like this , takes me ages to get out of my grump.

foxessocks · 13/05/2018 08:00

And yay for a Sunday morning lie in ivegot if you can call it that !!

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 13/05/2018 08:03

I'm calling it a lie in this week foxes! Sorry your having a grumpy morning!

I'm irritable this morning. We have no painkillers in the house and my back hurts. I might drink some calpol.

Bowerbird5 · 13/05/2018 08:16

No you're not too late. I bought four different sorts from a local garden centre as little tiny ones and I'm growing them on. One is the tiny cherry tomatoes I bet your DD would love those. My friend puts hers on the kitchen window sill they were huge last year she couldn't see out in the end. Go for it!

Oh dear foxes. Take a cup of tea somewhere and a magazine. Tell them you are having half an hours peace. Hopefully that will help. It works for me...you just need some time out!

Cagliostro · 13/05/2018 08:33

Mmmm calpol. Only the baby one though, 6+ is rank.

Welcome back lisette 💐

Woke up 7.15 just as DH left. So glad it’s the last running event for now. As is he, which shows how worn out he is generally (work is really shit) as normally he’s champing at the bit for the next one! He’s really down though, started ADs recently. Also I mentioned his dodgy blood test results the other week - well it turns out it’s a high level of something which suggests kidney stones, or at least a high likelihood of getting them. 🤦‍♀️ So need to find out more about that.

Going to take the Caglets out later, to meet DH after the run (will go to Boots pharmacy re cold sore first) - don’t normally but it’s right in our town. Must look up bus routes as they’re on diversion. He will have maybe 1.5hrs before he has to go to work.

Ugh. Stressed. Anxious. Blah. It’s really showing how much I pass the baby to DD (willingly, she loves cuddling the baby) as now I can’t risk it at least until we’ve ruled out the cold sore, and I’m a bit stuck. I can’t “trust” DS in the same way due to his issues, getting him to sit down with her and not move is literally impossible. Which is horrible as he loves her so much but he’s so very clumsy, stimmy and impulsive. 😰 He has lots of cuddles and plays with her obviously, he’s an amazing big brother, but it’s taking a risk just to get him to sit with her while I go to the loo let alone get on with other stuff.

There is nowhere to safely put the baby now. Other than in the buggy, but we are so pushed for space that the car seat is generally on top. I must see if I can squeeze it into a cupboard. We don’t have a proper high chair, just a booster for now as we were hoping to wait for a proper one until we move. So not secure enough to just leave her in it (not that she’d be happy in it without food anyway! She’s a total piggy 😋🐽). Upstairs, we haven’t even bought her cot yet! She’s 6.5 months. She just goes in the Moses basket when she’s asleep. We’ve still not decided between a cot and cotbed. Not that there’s any floor space yet. Will have to put it on a low mattress height already as she’s pulling herself up. Feel really stupid for not ordering one ages ago, so disorganised. 😳😰

I really hope we can move soon, I am getting more stressed by the day. By the time we do move I am predicting epic relapse and/or nervous breakdown. 😳
