Hello everyone,
Welcome to the Flylady thread for April, where we follow (sort of) the Flylady system with baby steps, missions, daily focuses (foci?!) and decluttering. But more than that, we are a supportive bunch where we share the trials and tribulations of everyday life. We post our to do and ta da lists and chat a whole lot.
Newbies, lurkers and returners always welcome!
Back tonight with links for tomorrow!

Hello all, have tried to catch up on posts.

longtime FlowersFlowersFlowers, how awful, especially horrific of course when a child dies Flowers.

Fooland, hope you are managing to carry on and rest when you can, even if only for a few minutes.

Hills and SC, thanks for excellent summaries. I have not posted on the debate at all. I certainly posted personal info under old usernames in the past which was probably best avoided. The trouble is, as we’ve said, if you can’t ask advise about children’s behaviour (which I have definitely benefited from on here) and have general chit chat about day to day stuff then it sort of loses the point. This is such a lovely thread and the chat is the best part of it! Have debated changing my user name but I love this one and if I made a whole different profile with different age children etc then I’m not sure it would be as helpful day to day. So i’ve decided to stay but will be a bit more vague at times maybe if stuff is identifiable. It’s not anonymous and has never claimed to be so might need to remind myself of that sometimes.

Ta da:-
We are actually on a child free night away!!
Not as exciting as it sounds as it is so DH can do a sporting event, hotel is ok but nothing special and everything is so expensive Sad. However, I really can’t complain as we are child free, no cooking required and unexpectedly have bought DH’s father’s day present from the kids as he saw something he wanted on offer so will just get them to buy him something very small for actual father’s day.

Big wing flaps to all and thanks for links as always Cag.

Stilllivinginazoo · 21/04/2018 16:37

Enjoy night off stressy

I have given up for the day having come down to check washing n return to find lil zoo on top her chest drawers "drawing" right next where I am painting and pushing her "stuff" scatter over top said drawers perilously close to paintpot
I should never have broken rule about decorating with school age children-never whilst they are at home😟

Frustrated and irritated I have stomp downstairs like a 5year old

It's humid and horrible here and I am grumpy!!!

To do
Not slay any children-neither mine or neighbourhood ones lurking around about and making noise which at mo it irritating the fuck out of me

Meal plan for next week

Dinner-- cold affair as cooked sausages at lunch, probably cheese salad pittas

I need chocolate and sleep.and I've no money for former and don't usually get latterSad

Saltcrust · 21/04/2018 16:54

Oh dear Zoo decorating is hard work at the best of times ... Brew and ...Cake

Enjoy your night's break away Toostressy and hope your dh's sporting event goes well!

Dh and I are meant to be enjoying child-free time but he is either working or sleeping because he is so exhausted from working ... not that he can help that as its a very busy time of year ... but a bit crap all the same ... . Wish I had made other plans now but feel it would be mean of me to abandon him when he is slogging his guts out. And although I am trying my best to use the time to get stuff done, vertigo keeps returning intermittently which is so frustrating (plays tiny violin).

Heigh ho! Onwards ... !

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 21/04/2018 17:02

Thanks both. I am still stunned at how easy a night away without children is Grin. I have actually felt a bit bored. Don’t worry, I savoured the feeling and am very greatful for it!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 21/04/2018 17:03

Arf at chello Zoo but that all sounds really awful! Poor bloke; those hrs are really punishing and not sustainable long term. Not nice for you in terms of referred stress either (hands over more Gin).

HillsBesideTheSea · 21/04/2018 20:29

MNHQ statement well q&a statement on the issue is here. It is far more reassuring that some of the on board conversations. I have been derailed by the mention of feynmann.

Although that said SC science books for dd try some of the new scientist ones like this tornadeo one they have a whole bunch of them. I think one of them was why don't polar bears get cold feet. Light science but still some interesting facts.
Also this list of new titles might be interesting here

Ty foxes

Did you have any success with suncream?

Cagliostro · 22/04/2018 07:50

Well that was one hell of a night. Managed to get Cagletini in bed before 10, but she woke shortly after midnight and thereafter literally didn’t sleep more than 15 minutes in a row, all night. You’d think I was giving her IV caffeine rather than milk. Hmm Just popping on with links then sending baby downstairs with the others so I can actually sleep.

Sunday 22nd April
Babystep here something about procrastinating
No missions because it’s Sunday, but we are now moving into zone 4 - the master bedroom, or boudoir as it is fondly known.
Daily focus is renewing your spirit.
A little reminder that the habit of the month is making your bed (meh).
