Hello everyone,
Welcome to the Flylady thread for April, where we follow (sort of) the Flylady system with baby steps, missions, daily focuses (foci?!) and decluttering. But more than that, we are a supportive bunch where we share the trials and tribulations of everyday life. We post our to do and ta da lists and chat a whole lot.
Newbies, lurkers and returners always welcome!
Back tonight with links for tomorrow!

Milk. But it is whether it has upped to type one reactions which he has a previous history of or if it was a one off bad reaction at Christmas. Only thing that will change is whether he will need to carry the epipen and get trained to use it or whether the current approach is ok with accidents just making him ill rather than life threatening iyswim.

Aye we have the routines pretty much down until the next allergy gets added to the list. Then we tweak and figure out new recipes. Sorry am feeling a bit techy tonight. Still don't have a fully functioning kitchen and it is really really starting to affect my mood, probably because I have strayed from my diet plan for convenience and stress. Wonder if the same feel good vibes are part of the situation for me too. It is interesting that this is a known effect and issue.

Do you dread anything that say new and improved too zoo? I am running out of options for shampoo and conditioner. I heard a vicious rumour that you can make shampoo out of bicarb of soda, i may end up having to look into this at the rate things are going!

Stilllivinginazoo · 17/04/2018 05:51

Oh yesSad
And don't get me started on why jammie Dodgers changed their recipe after all those years to ADD milk powder.bastardsHmm

I am up
Washing machines whirring away
Kittens/cats weaving contentedly round my legs for fuss now their tummies are full
Lav bleached
Kitchen and living room floors are swept
I have half hour to work on cuoboard understairs before need start rallying troops

Morning Brew

Saltcrust · 17/04/2018 06:29

Cripes that all sounds very difficult with the allergies everyone. Hats off to you all for handling it all! It must be such a worry when it affects your DC. And handling it when temporarily without kitchen facilities must be a total nightmare!

I have EpiPen for bees and wasps (severe allergy developed v suddenly in my forties) and have allergy to (ironically) dust! However I am gobsmacked to hear that an allergy to green apples is a thing! DD can't eat them - says they give her a headache - and I'm ashamed to say I was a bit sceptical because she happily eats red ones!

Looks like it's going to be a lovely day today! Had better crack on! Mahoisive wing flaps to all!

Saltcrust · 17/04/2018 06:31

I'vegotfamily. I hear you about your oh bringing home crap. DH does the same and feeds DD sugary rubbish despite my protests! Makes me Angry

Saltcrust · 17/04/2018 06:42

Even worse when dd is upset about something and DH offers her a biscuit/chocolate to cheer her up! Sets ups all sorts of wrong associations! Drives me nuts!

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 17/04/2018 07:02

Yep! Its like when weaning. He would taste things id made the baby and say "its so bland it needs salt" NO, no it does not! Baby does not need bloody salt!

Cagliostro · 17/04/2018 07:48

Yikes sympathy on all the allergies 😱 we only have coeliac to deal with here but DH isn’t here for most meals anyway so it’s not really a big deal now.

ta da from yesterday
✅DH and I put 2 lots of washing on
✅Caglets put dryer on
✅meal plan and Tesco order
✅town to get a bib (which Cagletini promptly chewed on)
✅cooked dinner (often get a ready meal on Mondays from the shop by taekwondo, but I got a few fresh bits to top up what we had at home instead)
✅helped DSD with dissertation proposal. Brain is fried.
✅got lots of stuff ready for today (put pushchair back on chassis and folded it, packed changing bag with chessington tickets, got Cagletini’s clothes ready etc)
✅cleaned out fridge

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 17/04/2018 08:13

cag how long did your scan thing take to arrive?

Saltcrust · 17/04/2018 08:16

Hope you all have e a great day out CAG!!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 17/04/2018 08:33

Morning all Brew. Sympathies for all the allergy issues, sounds very tough Flowers.

Have a brilliant day Cag!

I have to go into work for a study day today so have swapped my days as don’t normally work Tuesdays. I don’t normally work Tuesdays as childcare is tricky on Tuesdays. So I will be late to the study day (an already late but am at bus stop so not much more I can do) and leaving early. My line manager is aware but hope I don’t get any grumpy comments Confused.

Ikea update for anyone interested Grin:-
We now have a lovely table for the tv to go on with a little bit of storage underneath (DH was building that yesterday so busy day for us all hence me not being on here). Also coffee table to be built. So that is great.

Unfortunately we have decided not to buy new storage for the cupboard atm as budget will not allow it. I am unreasonably annoyed but it is the right decision for now Angry. Thanks for all your help especially Callme as I have a much better idea of what I want in there one day. For now we will have the usual mish mash of ineffective reused storage and find it hard to find things.

And the bus is late. Please send Brew and good thoughts.

HillsBesideTheSea · 17/04/2018 09:20

ta da
deal with most epic of melt downs
deal with nose bleed (knee to own nose incident) Hmm
contact school
deal with fully blown discussion on the issues of Ireland and Glasgow - BEFORE enough coffee has been drunk
sort out running errand for mum (in that town today so makes sense to save her a separate trip)
get pe kit dried
make up ds' school bag
Empty cupboard for cleaning when I get in later.

Just finishing getting dressed, and dropping some paperwork at school on the way into work. There is something about the air that suggests today is going to be hard work. Can't quite put my finger on it...

Will be back later - don't think I posted yesterday, was busy trying to finish a costume and DD seems to have inherited my migraines. I am grateful to live in a time that has triptans wish they were developed earlier though so there is hope for the future if DD needs them.

I'm allergic to animal hair and dust mite droppings

Cordelia I get scared about parking (because I am crap at it). Ended up parking so far away from dd's primary school that I thought I might as well just walk! Grin. Give me a horse any day Wink. A parking rehearsal sounds like a good idea though!

Oh no about your dd and migraines Cotswold I hope she is ok.

Great lists Goth! I may have mis-remembered this, but didn't you used to work in a community garden? Is it still going? It's lovely weather for gardening all of a sudden!

Yay @ new storage Toostressy the right piece of furniture can really improve things clutter-wise for the better!

Hope day goes ok Hills!

Saltcrust · 17/04/2018 10:22

X post ,I'vegotfamily Star for ta das!

I've got 2 loads washing outside for the first time this year - whey hey!

(Arachnophobes - do not read the next para!)

Went downstairs to laundry early this morning to find the most enormous spider - bloomin' huge it was with fat body and long legs - in rubber seal of wm. Spiders don't bother me normally but I must confess I squealed at the sheer size of this one and ran upstairs to fetch DH (I know, I'm a wimp). Anyway even he was taken aback by how large it was but when he tried to manoeuvre it on to some cardboard he said it ran inside the drum! I am about to go down and check it out ....wibble. [Confused

GoingGoingGoth · 17/04/2018 11:00

SC Yes I did, few years back. Don't have time now but still getting their veg.
You've obviously got better weather than us, our little garden is sodden. Seems to have rained every day although the sun has peeked out after this morning's shower.

Goth Yes, it has been incredibly sodden here too, but drying out now thankfully! Was getting sick of the sight of mud! It's apparently going to be up to 26°c here on Thurs and Fri!!! Shock Have a lovely lunch with your friend!

HillsBesideTheSea · 17/04/2018 14:05

SC probably mean but I would have just put the washing machine on for a hot cleaning wash... not a fan of spiders

Apparently we are due 21c tomo. TOday is probably about 15C so I predict death pain suffering...

to do
so much not even sure where to start.

foxessocks · 17/04/2018 14:36

Afternoon, beautiful day here we have been to look at boats this morning along the river. Spent too much money at the cafe but it was worth it - yum.

Ta da
Dishwasher
Hung washing out
Wipes sides
Rubbish out
Meal plan for next week

To do
Finish daily routine
Clean bath
Fifteen minutes decluttering
Online food shop for next week
Make fruit flan
Cook dinner (chicken and mushroom pie with garlic and herb roast potatoes)

Just sitting in the car waiting for ds to wake up first. Dd is watching Bob the builder. Hopefully there will be time for playing in the garden as well since the weather is so nice.

Saltcrust · 17/04/2018 15:46

Instalment 2 of spider drama (arachnophobes look away)

Hills I tentatively checked drum. No sign of beast so in went the dog blankets. And bloomin 'eck, 30 seconds later, saw ruddy great thing sprawled between cream dog blankets (sort of faux sheepskin) and glass door. Couldn't bring myself to kill it so donned rubber gloves and got one dog blanket with spider in it, between my two hands, and pelted upstairs and threw whole thing on terrace. Saw it get and wander off. Phew. I swear it was so large it had a swagger Grin

Saltcrust · 17/04/2018 16:00

Foxes perfect day for looking at boats.

I am off to the vets now...rabbit's third post- op check up. Her fur looks better and she's put on weight, so hoping for good new!!

Dd has arrived back from school with mates and I am leaving them unsupervised to cook pasta supper (eek) for which I have semi-prepped ingreds.

And as we're off schedule this week for a variety of reasons, lovely cleaner came and scrubbed entire downstairs, stairs and bathroom today. She normally comes on a Friday and it's so nice to have the house clean early in the week without it being immediately trashed over weekend. My Monday home bleugh doesn't quite make the grade sadly!

However, I have cleaned upstairs and got bed linen ready for guests. Three teens staying over tonight. DH and I are having to get up at 4.30 am tomorrow morning to take them all to coach for school trip..guests live far away whereas we are more central .... oh joy!
