Hello everyone,
Welcome to the Flylady thread for April, where we follow (sort of) the Flylady system with baby steps, missions, daily focuses (foci?!) and decluttering. But more than that, we are a supportive bunch where we share the trials and tribulations of everyday life. We post our to do and ta da lists and chat a whole lot.
Newbies, lurkers and returners always welcome!
Back tonight with links for tomorrow!

💐 thanks Toostressy I tok my capsule last night and feel a lot better today. It has been a slow day though so maybe that has helped my stress levels. Nothing worked out yesterday and I could have gone😧 but we weren't to know.

Persis swish & swipe is the way to go. I do it every morning when I go for my first visit. It is so quick now and keeps on top of it. I rinse the shower after use and clean it Wednesday's andSaturdays.

Went to bed at 8pm and had a bit of a lie in and tea. The rest did me good and I was quite productive when I got up. Before I did I made use of time by tracking down gardening products and compared prices.

Ta Das
I changed sheets.
Gathered up washing.
Washed sheets.
Cleaned out two drawers and re organised clothes. Removed several winter Christmas outfits. Going to store elsewhere.
Dusted
Sorted some magazines, papers.
Just need to vacuum now. Pleased I have got that done.

Too cold for gardening so went to small garden centre for late lunch. Lovely tomato soup. Compost and bark a lot more expensive though. While I like supporting small businesses I need quite a lot so it will add up. We have decided to bark the area outside the kitchen to cut down on weeding. I am thinking of replanting the bottom garden bed which is quite long. Wendy house is getting knocked down in late spring. Slabs laid and hopefully a summer house erected.

I wish I had room for a piano and to learn. I always wanted to learn since my gran started to teach me a little at five. Good luck both of you. I would earmark half an hour a day to book the room🎼🎹🎹🎹🎶
My gran played beautifully at 70 she had studied played in London when in her twentys.
Meal tonight prawns, noodle stir fry.
Meringue with oat cream and dark chocolate sauce.
Cags I went through loads of teats trying to get DD onto a bottle so I could finish my college course. We settled on a silicone one from Boots I think. As soon as she saw me she wanted boob. My friend reckoned she learnt to tell the time by seven months as she wouldn't take the bottle from 3:30 I was there by 4pm😁

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 06/04/2018 21:47

Ta da:-
Rest of painting with DD1 finished. It’s drying so in the morning we need to organise and name it for her badge. DD2 did painting too so will need to do the same for hers so she doesn’t feel left out.
Swimming lessons
Took kids to park briefly after swimming
Sent SOS on school facebook thing to see if anyone fancies meeting up one day in the holidays Easter Grin so share the joy of school holidays.

To do:-
Dishwasher
Laundry

Lovely to hear about piano playing Easter Smile.

Cagliostro · 06/04/2018 22:48

Oh yay board games!

I need to pack some more up actually and get DH to move them into the cupboard. Which means I won’t be able to get to them and will be forced to try different ones (we have some that have never been played). Eep.

Where is zoo :(

Tomorrow DH is being a weirdo and is heading off to the leisure centre to run as far as he can in 24 straight hours. He will have a tent by the track with his snacks drinks spare socks etc... he wants to hit the 100 mile mark this time as he just missed it last year when he hurt his leg. Sigh. Anyway I am planning on making the weekend as easy on myself as possible.

Thanks for thoughts about expressing etc. Babies are clever bower that’s so funny about telling time. 😍 I’m hoping to just do it occasionally for now, but also if they’ll let me I want to donate some milk too. I was wondering about using a cup instead of a bottle - she’s nearly 6m so will be starting solids soon, and I was thinking of getting one of those doidy cup things for water. But a sippy cup for milk as I don’t want to risk spending hours expressing for it to all be tipped over herself 😱😂 a friend messaged me offering her pump so I’ll try that first.

ta da
✅Caglets put clothes away
✅washing on
✅researched clubs for myself
✅messaged old friend about chemistry ideas as she’s a science teacher, and she offered to meet in summer to do some stuff with DS!
✅helped DSD with essay
✅bathed Cagletini and the Caglets had baths too
✅figured out pushchair straps footmuff etc
✅got Caglets to help me pack up some books - small box of theirs, and a big box of most of mine and DH’s (“mum why does dad have so many old messy dirty books?” 🙈 sounds dodgy until you realise he just means tatty old David Eddings that he’s read a gazillion times) and I moved them to the landing so they are in a box stack there, at least it’s somewhere sensible for now anyway

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 06/04/2018 22:52

Cagletini is nearly 6 months old?????!!

Cagliostro · 06/04/2018 23:03

Yep! Well nearer to 5 months still she will be on 25/4 😭 I shouldn’t wish away those last few weeks really! I’m excited to started weaning though, I really think she’s going to enjoy food 😀

I really need to get on with sorting the outgrown baby clothes again, she will be moving up a size before I know it

I have been keeping an eye out for zoo too cag

Anyway ds3 up at 5am again with his teeth

Found a slug in the living room Angry

Piss off slug

Stressy did your dd do rainbows too?

Cag your dh does sound nuts. I would never in a million years do anything like that.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 07/04/2018 07:39

Ta da

Wash on
Dryer on
Dry washing sorted
RC picked up from floor LR2
Dc3&4 fed
Dc4 changed and dressed
Dry pots away
1 worktop wiped
Half dd craft shit put away

foxessocks · 07/04/2018 08:04

cag sippy cups are great I think also the 360 cups when she's a bit older . My ds can drink out of an open cup now but I still don't usually let him as he makes a big mess and definitely not with milk and he's 19 months old!

Also I agree you dh is nuts how is that fun!? Each to their own I guess! Grin

I have only just woken up and the dc are still asleepShock

Afreshcuppateaplease · 07/04/2018 08:32

foxes i am in awe, what time do they go to bed Shock

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 07/04/2018 08:49

Morning all Brew.

Hope you are ok zoo.

foxes, wow, glad you got a lie in!

Afresh oh no about slug. No, neither of mine do / did rainbows. Huge waiting lists around here for it and I would have needed to have their names down years ago. Fingers crossed DD2 can start Brownies when she is 7. They have said she probably can as she is on the waiting list.

Speaking of Brownies, does anyone use badge glue? I HATE sewing but have read conflicting things about the badge glue.

Thanks for the links Cag. Good luck to your DH; that is amazing. Hope your weekend is ok. I very much know what it is like to be left holding the baby while DH gets all the glory for a sporting event.

Big wing flaps to everyone else.

Ta da:-
Card and present wrapped for party later
Checked on artwork but it’s still too wet to put away which is annoying me slightly - will have to do later this afternoon/ tonight.
Organised the stuff for scanning but still can’t figure out how to scan it. DH is out so will have to ask him to do it while we are at the party.

To do:-
Everything
Must get on as the tv programme for DDs has just finished so it is breakfast time.

foxessocks · 07/04/2018 08:50

7pm afresh but ds did only have a 30 ish minute nap yesterday rather than usual 1.5 hours

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 07/04/2018 08:52

Afresh, quite a few of their friends do rainbows though and love it.

Bowerbird5 · 07/04/2018 09:18

Hope zoo and family are ok🍕🍜🍲🍉🍏🍊🍓🍍🍐🍌🍇🍒🍭🍰🍮🍧 also leaves trail.
Talking of trails ...slugs yuk. Yes we get them here. Always in sitting room. We think they get in though inglenook but we can't see a hole. Must be minute one somewhere. Bought DH 50 ways to kill a slug once for Christmas😁 he gets very irate about them.

Made stir fry last night with M&S prawns, veg, garlic, ginger. Have stomach ache this morning and I should have left as going to a meet up with church members on a secret mission. We've got a few charitable jobs to do regarding gardening, cleaning. It is a bit of a drive first. Wondering if I should go now. It was for the weekend but I need to be back here by tonight.how bloody annoying. Stomach has been a bit delicate all week. I have a medical condition so could be that flaring up. Think I will get ready and see how I go. I was planning to leave at 8:30!
No Ta Das planned only make my bed. I have read serial now so means I can ditch another five ww magazines. I keep them but then don't get around to reading serials. This mornings was very well written. My plan is to read all by end of hols so I can ditch all the mags except Country Living. DD and I like re visiting those.
Hope you all have a good day. Let's hope it stays dry.

Bowerbird5 · 07/04/2018 09:23

Cags
If that is the race I am thinking of then my Osteo was on medical team for it with local lad that my boys knew and the lad that won was my sister's best friend son. I had seen him run and win in Scotland once by accident.
It is absolute madness. Hope he " enjoys? " it. Hope you have an ok day it will be a long one I assume.

Cagliostro · 07/04/2018 09:52

Yup long day here. DH just left, has to get there at 11 as they start at 12.

Not sure bower it might be an event that happens around the country, we are in SE. It’s literally just a bunch of crazy runners seeing how many times they can get round the athletics track. They have chips in their shoes to track how far they get so they can take breaks, eat etc.

Usually his favourite distance is half marathons, so generally the events aren’t a big deal and he often does them and then goes on to work (rarely gets weekends off). Could be worse hobbies TBF, other than this sort of thing it actually means he is home quicker as he often runs home from work :o not great timing though given the family stuff he was doing the other weekend, and all the when-are-we-moving-holy-crap-we-have-so-much-to-do stress. He’s got a couple of other events next month but they are all local, early mornings and short, and he’s not booking anything else until we are settled in the new place. I’m normally not bothered but we seriously need to focus now. We have been 12th, 11th and 10th on properties the last few weeks, so we reckon we could be moving in June/July.

Not actually sure what to do today. I think we will go and see him at the end tomorrow. We went in DSS’ car last time but he’s working all weekend. It will be a nice change from last year when I was knackered and felt unbelievably sick (had only found out about the baby the week before).

We have 3 bags of charity shop stuff to get rid of. It’s getting in the way, we could potentially drop it off today maybe. I also need to finally try the Aldi across town, apparently they have those canvas sling bookcases and that’s what I really want for Cagletini’s books (when she’s a bit bigger, so we can keep them flat packed for now, assuming they come unassembled).

Or I could just stay home all day. I do want to try and read a bit for a start.

Zoo hope you're ok

Catch you all later!

Cagliostro · 07/04/2018 12:48

I appear to have done absolutely sod all this morning! DD is going to stay at the neighbour’s while I pop out, no matter what I need to go to the library. I’ll pop to Boots to at least have a look at sippy cups etc. Want to get something nice for dinner but not sure if we will stay in or go out.

I am feeling soooo lazy 😳😴

Bowerbird5 · 07/04/2018 14:17

Ha ha! I hadn't noticed Cags
Maybe not the same then. The particular year it was inScotland. I can't remember what it is called but Osteo told me all about it. I think he had run it one year he had certainly been on the medical team a few times. It is about a 100 miles. Crazy! I will ask DS1or DS 2 as their friend ran it he came 22. Funny that just popped in my head.

Well don't think it was the prawns. Not well and decided to stay home which is just as well. I don't feel at all well. Just come for a lie down. Wondering what is going on with my body at the moment. Ever since I had that virus in December😔 I feel awful today and glad I didn't go but feel I have let people down too. I was looking forward to it too. Such a lovely bunch of people go. I have never gone away on holiday with friends and that is what it has turned into. We are all at such different stages of life too. Yet we all get on. No signal down there either so can't let them know. I'm sure they will realise.
I made my bed and swished and swiped but that is all. It is pouring down here. I am getting through serials though and found seven ways of cooking salmon😄 I am thinking of making a Fly lady recipe book. Loads of time saving recipes either long, slow cook or fast ready in minute recipes so frees up more time for flying. No messy, use a thousand pot recipes allowed!

Afreshcuppateaplease · 07/04/2018 19:19

I did write a post yesterday but then shut my laptop down without hitting post on it Grin

Hello all. No flying today. Have spent most of the night looking at ironing boards online. Mine broke yesterday. It's a non-stop party here as usual Hmm

Hope zoo is doing OK, I think the last time she went missing her phone had broken! Hope her DS is doing OK.

Must make effort tomorrow. Jab me with the stick someone!
