Keep on getting rid of one thing a day decluttering challenge!

After a thousand posts our homes are beautiful, decluttered places of harmony and relaxation….. or perhaps not?

We’re still trying to recycle, freecycle, sell our unwanted stuff and most of all clear out our houses, garages and sheds.

It’s easy to get involved, literally get rid of one thing a day and report back for support (and sometimes finger wagging if you’ve ‘accidentally’ bought a load of new clutter!)

Please join us and a warm welcome back to

The car’s done!!
Can I count the filled vacuum bag as today’s decluttered item? Grin

PenelopeFlintstone · 27/04/2018 13:42

I wish I could screenshot for you but I'm on my laptop because I decluttered my mobile phone..... Grin

PenelopeFlintstone · 27/04/2018 13:43

Yes, Clutterfree, you can Wink

Clutterfreeintraining · 27/04/2018 13:50

Penelope - awesome!!
You decluttered your mobile?!?! Shock

PenelopeFlintstone · 27/04/2018 13:53

I did. So now I'm permanently on my laptop instead Confused I'm considering taking it to work and leaving it there sometimes.

Clutterfreeintraining · 27/04/2018 14:06

Wow! That’s impressive - I think I’m so conditioned to be contactable and to be able to contact other people, the idea of not being feels so alien now.
Would love to be less reliant on it.
Just yesterday my dmum called me to find out where my dsis was because she’d tried calling her several times and was now in a panic because she couldn’t reach her. It took me 10 mins to calm her down and convince her that dsis had probably been in meetings or just busy with her job and not lying in a ditch or purposely ignoring her!!

PenelopeFlintstone · 27/04/2018 14:12

I am still always contactable, though, via Messenger on this laptop and work computer. I'm usually at home or at work. If I'm out, which isn't that often, I'm usually with those people who'd want to contact me.
I love that my kids can't text me all the time at work. they can still ring me at work if they need to but they can't text me with stupid requests. It's great!!

PenelopeFlintstone · 27/04/2018 14:12

Plus I've still got a landline at home too.

StealthNinjaMum · 27/04/2018 14:19

What are stripper shoes? I'm too frightened to google, they'll be advertised on every website I view and the dds will ask!

No mobile? I'm always leaving mine at home and it's an awful feeling. I couldn't cope without one.

Car clutter definitely counts - last week I threw away two old coffee cups.

My legs won't do lol
On the thicker side and varicose veins arent attractive last time I checked!

Wow.
I think we've (as society) are way too hooked on our phones.
Inc myself and dh.
I like to be contactable at all times.
Last year got a phone call early hours (4am-ish) to say grandma wasnt well. She was in hosp anyway and had taken turn for the worst.
Glad I was told as I got to hosp. She passed that afternoon.

While I was waiting for bloods yesterday an older lady walked into the room. Spitting image of my gran.

I had tears down my face. She sat next to me.

Ahh car is ok atm as I cleaned it last week

I have chucked some more junk today.
Old hangers, rubbish etc
Found my tweezers in the bathroom chucked some old toothbrushes and it was in the toothbrush holder! Hubby had taken it off my vanity and upstairs

No need to order a new one!

Namajesty · 27/04/2018 14:45

LostThanksThanks

PenelopeFlintstone · 27/04/2018 14:46

The only time someone can't reach me is the half-hour drive to work and back, and I shouldn't be answering my phone then anyway (don't have hands-free).
I've got a phone on my desk and a landline at home. People can ring me and do.
Plus Messenger on my home laptop and work computer. I'm messaging 3 or 4 people at the same time; I don't feel isolated.
I used to feel naked without my phone too but now I feel free.

Stealth - stripper shoes are super-high wedgy stilettos.

Baubles - sorry about your grandma. I would've still got that call though, just on my landline.

StealthNinjaMum · 27/04/2018 14:58

Oh dear I have wasted half an hour looking up shoes and knickers and other rubbish on eBay. Need to pick children up.

Lost sorry to hear about your grandma. Flowers

Ahhh Penelope our landline is never used lol
Its plugged in etc but never use the house phone

Sorry didnt mean to derail before.

Got a bit carried away!

Feeling like I should go into the utility room and make a 10min start.

Have to admit since doing my drawers last week it feels sooo nice to wake up to drawers that are shut properly 😁

ememem84 · 27/04/2018 16:51

Oven to be decluttered. The glass on the door just smashed. Ffs.

Stardust1234567 · 27/04/2018 18:54

Emem,
Unless you want to buy a new oven, you can normally find replacement glass for ovens online.

SandAndSea · 27/04/2018 19:16

I've been to the dump!! A day late but it still counts. Got rid of a bootful of old crap which feels great. I've also got someone coming tomorrow for a large Freebay item.

LostMyBaubles · 27/04/2018 19:17

I got a carrier bag of crap out utility room

Saw a spider.
Didnt eat me.
I won 😁

tutu112 · 28/04/2018 05:27

Got rid of three full bin bags of stuff to the charity shop this week. Felt good to be rid of it.

Clutterfreeintraining · 28/04/2018 07:40

Lost - congratulations on your double achievement Grin
I’m about to blow any progress I’ve made over the last couple of weeks - going to a wool fair today and I have a list Hmm In my defence, 4 of the items on the list will be gifts/turned into gifts so will only be here temporarily. And we won’t talk about the extra random items that might end up in my possession just yet Wink
I have put a school shirt into the recycling bag this morning (ds came home from school with it 2 weeks ago. It’s not his and is full of holes.)

LostMyBaubles · 28/04/2018 11:29

Thank you Grin

Ive done some gardening for the first time in my life. Really.
That's how scared I am of spiders but the grass in the front garden was getting out of hand so used the grass trimmer myself!

Then pulled a load of weeds up in the back amd got kids bikes out so they can play.

Have 0 energy atm. Prob wont get much else done until later on in the day

Gibble1 · 28/04/2018 14:10

Will read and catch up later. Just declaring 2 doors and a car full of rubbish gone to tip today. More to declare later.

Namajesty · 28/04/2018 14:22

Lost well doneSmile

I did my first ever gardening last week and I didn't even come across a spider, just one worm. Gardens look so much better however the grass needs cutting again already!

Spent the day making lists but haven't actually got anything done Blush

DS is playing with plastic Easter eggs so I think I might chuck them. Not to be mean, but because they're broken and miss matched

ememem84 · 28/04/2018 14:40

So far today I’ve successfully decluttered he rest of the box of paracetamol and some cough syrup. Bloody baby giving me his cold. Of course today he’s bright and chirpy and I feel like death

Also decluttered my bank account of £27 for my riding lesson. And took a couple of old towels to the stables.

LostMyBaubles · 28/04/2018 15:11

Em it counts!

Namesty
Was very proud of myself for doing the gardening

Ive ended up in a+e with the eldest
