Keep on getting rid of one thing a day decluttering challenge!

After a thousand posts our homes are beautiful, decluttered places of harmony and relaxation….. or perhaps not?

We’re still trying to recycle, freecycle, sell our unwanted stuff and most of all clear out our houses, garages and sheds.

It’s easy to get involved, literally get rid of one thing a day and report back for support (and sometimes finger wagging if you’ve ‘accidentally’ bought a load of new clutter!)

Well this is hugely embarrassing, I couldn't wait, so I called DH at work who had no idea what I was going on about. I went rummaging and found the online invoice thing, plus the labels sewn into the clothes in there.

it's not his kit bag. It's my brothers. I forgot we were storing it for him while he's abroad. Text DB who's now really embarrassed too.

I feel like an arse for accusing DH of being a bastard now.

Cashew that's amazing news though, you made a (quit huge) mistake but I'm sure you'll all be able to laugh about this very soon I bet you are so so glad you got the wrong end of the stick though. What a whirlwind of emotions you've just been through! Go and have a drink

Just an update I went through ALL of toddler DS's toys, kept the lego, moved all of the stacking block things onto his unit as 'ornament' type things for show (he doesn't bother with them anyway) and I sorted all of his soft toys. He also has a few trucks/random other toys which have been stored away too. Ended up chucking 26 baby toys which brings my total to 101.

Another BBQ tonight, so I need to quickly blitz the house. DH wants MORE cakes though I suppose i do owe him. So that'll be all the bananas and the last of the market coffee gone, plus the last of a couple of small open bags of flour!

Well, I've been feeling all itchy... and then noticed an ant... and another ant... DP said he'd seen the cat rolling in a load of ants before letting her in (SIGH!). So, cue a half hour of finding and catching ants from under the sofa and all around the living room. All have now been deposited safely outside, throws and rugs washed and the room vacuumed.

So, I've officially decluttered about a dozen ants today.

I got rid of a bar of soap today (used up). Opened a brand new burst bees body lotion today. It smelled grim. So I gave it to the girls at work who love it.

I have checked my records and since the start of this thread I have thrown away / recycled / sold the equivalent of 106 carrier bags of rubbish (bags about the size of the old, thin tesco ones so not enormous). Thank you ladies for providing a space I can moan about my clutter - I am too embarrassed in real life.

Today I threw out a bag of paintbrushes and rollers. My shed has a hole in it and all the stuff has got damaged so it was a really annoying declutter. I also spent half an hour sweeping leaves and pulling weeds.

Cashew what a day. I'm glad it wasn't how it looked but you must've had a horrible few hours until you found out the truth. Just go to bed with the whole pile of cupcakes and some wine.

@StealthNinjaMum - 106!! That's amazing. Well done! I too am very appreciative of this thread and love that I can tell you all things that I wouldn't dream of telling people in RL.
