How much do you spend on flowers per week?

I love fresh flowers and have recently signed up for bloom and wild, I love the surprise. So far the flowers last two weeks, so I have them delivered fortnightly for £18, which in my head is like spending £9 a week on flowers. What do you spend?

This time of year : around £5
Spring/summer : £0 - I grow my own

mixture · 27/02/2018 18:37

Um, nothing at the moment.

SocksRock · 27/02/2018 18:37

Maybe £1 on the odd bunch of daffodils. Generally nothing. Not saying I wouldn’t like to, but the situation we are in it would feel like an unnecessary indulgence.

Heratnumber7 · 27/02/2018 18:38

£0.

hugoagogo · 27/02/2018 18:40

Nothing at all.

JustHooking · 27/02/2018 18:41

£0
Hate them. It's like looking after a pet and the water turns to slime
Many come with air miles. Much prefer to see something growing

Baileystruffle · 27/02/2018 18:41

Nothing

Timefortea99 · 27/02/2018 18:41

£zero

Rainatnight · 27/02/2018 18:41

If I had unlimited funds, I'd do Elton John-esque levels of floristry.

In real life, very little in the winter, and around a fiver in Spring/Summer.

I've thought about signing up for a service like yours and keep wondering if I can justify the cost. It would make me very happy.

Probably more than I should. I always have at least one large bouquet that my husband brings home on a Friday (and always has). That’s probably about £30 at a guess. Then if we have people coming for weekend or a supper party, I’ll pop to Tesco and buy a few bunches. Usually their giant lilies which look stunning when open fully. They last well too. So I’d buy about £20 worth of flowers and top up with greenery from the garden.
Christmas and Easter I use flowers as main household decorations. I don’t do flashing Father Christmas or illuminated reindeer but several large displays of red/white/ green flowers and foliage with a few sparkly fir cones or similar and some red berry lights.

I spend about £1 per annum on daffs, at this time of year (just got some). I am very jealous of those who have a weekly flower budget though Grin

CapricornWithAUnicornHorn · 27/02/2018 18:44

I never buy fresh flowers for myself that's really strange Confused

I buy them for others on special occasions or if they've been feeling down.

Electricgobblers · 27/02/2018 18:44

Nothing. Cant afford to and hate them anyway. They smell bad and the water is manky.

SadieHH · 27/02/2018 18:45

Bunch of daffs or tulips every couple of weeks and the odd bunch that dh brings me but otherwise like a previous poster, they’re too much of an indulgence at the moment.

SilverHairedCat · 27/02/2018 18:46

£2-5. A bunch or two of roses, tulips, daffs, whatever catches my eye at Lidl. They last brilliantly.

I suffer with depression, and it's a self-care thing I do to have something bright, fresh and alive around all the time.

CMOTDibbler · 27/02/2018 18:46

Less than £5 a year. I spent £2 on daffs last week, but thats as much as it gets.

haba · 27/02/2018 18:46

Why is it strange, Capricorn?
It's nice to have fresh flowers around, and as long as you're not struggling, it's a lovely thing to buy- you are worth it!

myusernameisnotmyusername · 27/02/2018 18:46

I get £3-£5 bunches from Asda and they last longer than any other flowers I've ever had- even expensive ones! About 3-4 weeks!

Jojoanna · 27/02/2018 18:48

I love flowers in the house. Usually buy a couple of bunches a week .

wintermonster · 27/02/2018 18:49

When it's daffodil season £1 a week.

Other times of year maybe £5 every two weeks on a simple bunch.

Electricgobblers · 27/02/2018 18:49

I hate cut flowers. I wouldn’t find it nice to have them in the house at all. They make me feel sick.

fleshmarketclose · 27/02/2018 18:50

I spend up to £10 each week depending on what's available. I love flowers and consider them my weekly treat tbh.
