Right you horrible lot stop nattering so much nah it wouldn't be fun if you did

So you have wandered into this corner of MN were the fledglings - a long running but very friendly group welcomes newbies and follows the flylady way to try to get decluttered and on top of the boring stuff in order to have more time for the fun other boring but essential stuff

No idea whose turn it was to run the thread this month but here it the thread and we can figure it out from there.

www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/kitchen-products/kitchen-cabinets/capita-leg-stainless-steel-art-10267895/

Have seen people online use these to raise kallax above skirting

Cagliostro · 04/03/2018 17:31

Oh cool thanks. Will see what we end up with in terms of housing, space etc. DD has her heart set on the desk you can attach to the kallax too.

I think half of what’s stressing me (ok not half, most of the stress is that I’m so bloody disorganised) is that I don’t really know what layout and space we will have. So we can’t really make any decisions as I don’t want to end up with furniture that doesn’t work well for us.

So much to sort out, in reality nothing should be attempted until we finish decluttering, but for a while now we’ve been at that stage where you have got rid of what you know you can do without, and are left with all the random stuff you can’t make decisions about. Gah.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 04/03/2018 17:33

The desk is big. I looked at it for ds1 but it would have taken over Sad

Cagliostro · 04/03/2018 17:51

Yes it looks quite looming! But some of the rooms in the houses we’ve bid on are huge, so in some it would work. But not all.

I’m really stressing today. But in that sort of motivated to get on with it way... IF I had 1. energy and 2. someone to hold the baby. I have neither currently.

I must sort out some maths and spellings for the Caglets tonight, so they can get straight on with that in the morning, and maybe (ha!) we can get on with stuff. Going to bed earlier is definitely helping, I’m finding it easier to get up in the morning despite frequent feeds in the night, so maybe I will be more able to do stuff. Again. Ha. 🙄🙄🙄

Evening everyone - lots of new names and several name changers as well I think, I'm sure I'll catch up with you all soon.

I've been signed off work with acute stress as not coping with demands of work and DS school difficulties. House is a tip, but I'm working on it:

Ta Da
Beds made
Dishwasher unloaded, reloaded and on again
Washing machine on
Hand washing up done
Gathered together all school bits and pieces
Updated family calendar - which was very out of date!
Some online banking
Started online shop

This evening going to fold about four loads of laundry while watching a film. But first, let DS's bedtime battle commence...

Greymalkin · 04/03/2018 19:03

SC - at some point (no hurry) could you send me the Nigella chickpea and root veg casserole recipe please? x

Afreshcuppateaplease · 04/03/2018 19:13

Hello grey sorry to hear times are tough! The naughty corner is well stocked as usual and we now also have a poorly corner BrewWineGinCakeFlowers

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 04/03/2018 19:25

Wow, busy thread again Smile.

Thanks for links Cotswold. Poorly corner sounds an excellent idea .

foxes AngryAngryAngry what an awful weekend away Flowers.

Love snow pony zoo.

Still waiting to feel like an adult here too.

Welcome ginning (love the username).

I have been relatively productive today but as usual house needs a tidy up once DDs in bed. Pondering what to eat as a snack.

Snow nearly gone so back to reality tomorrow. Have to take car to garage so not anticipating much time for flying.

Have only skin read the thread so apologies for missing things. Big wing flaps and soothing Brew, Wine or Gin for all.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 04/03/2018 19:26

Oh Grey, nice to have you back but of course sorry to hear things are tough.

Steamcloud · 04/03/2018 19:37

Lovely to have you back Greymalkin - sorry things are tough right now - will pm you the recipe tonight/tomorrow!

You've reminded me I need to update the calendar too!

CotswoldStrife · 04/03/2018 19:47

Good to see you back Grey but sorry to hear about the stress.

On the ABFOL group that I'm on, someone 3D printed legs for a bit of Ikea furniture to get it up past a skirting board. Genius!

Will read the thread and catch up shortly.

HillsBesideTheSea · 04/03/2018 19:54

Wrt Kallax we looked at them recently but decided against. They are less heavy then they used to be. As a room divider with small children I would be concerned if not attached. I would consider looking into this more Cag There has to be a way to fix more sturdily. Have you looked into Ikea hacking websites. There are some very good modifications about. They might be able to give some more options.

Ta da
yell at teen re homework
threaten to take all technology away
Yell at teen about washing up and nothing for making gravy cos all jugs have custard dregs in his room
dry uniform
Have strop at state of kitchen
relieve stress removing wall paper Hmm

Needless to say we are both sulking now and tomo is not going to be fun.

Welcome Ginning, good to have you with us!

I'm looking forward to another day of dust-dodging and diary-juggling tomorrow. Helping a friend out in the morning and then running DD about after school. Assuming the school is open, of course. Snow has been pretty much rained away, the place does look so pretty with it though!

Will post the links next, sleep well fledglings. Next week we will all be fit, I've decided oh the power of two paracetamol and no wine

CotswoldStrife · 04/03/2018 23:47

Bowerbird5 · 05/03/2018 06:42

Dam lost post! Got up to check weather. Looks like I'm going to work today.i can see grass today. Henny Penny will be pleased.i should have taken photos of her pushing through the snow she looked so funny with no legs.
No ta Das yesterday. Went to church and choir was surprisingly on. Sounded amazing. We have a comp coming up soon. Just local so we are hopeful we entered two sections. Last time our conductor couldn't come as double booked and we came second. Winners were excellent and we all thought deserved first place. Will get up soon to have leisurely " get ready for school" time. Needed straw but can't get to farm as road too snowy and icy. Expecting normal timetable but we will see. Don't mind if teaching Yr 5 we enjoyed it last week.

Bowerbird5 · 05/03/2018 06:45

Zone 2 is good. I am starting to see progress if I can keep to it. Each time you go back it is a little easier. DH did under the sink cupboard.guess he has decluttered more than me as there is room under there. Wonder what he has thrown out😧

Afreshcuppateaplease · 05/03/2018 06:50

Hopefully not the pipes bower!

Having heated debate with 4 year old who is insisting 10+10=14

Afreshcuppateaplease · 05/03/2018 07:13

Ta da

Dryer on
Dry washing in basket
Cleared one worktop
Wiped highchair

Small two dc are up and fed. Need to wake the big two shortly. Wondering when the bins will be collected and can i wedge extra out there and not have it blow all over the street....
