Right you horrible lot stop nattering so much nah it wouldn't be fun if you did

So you have wandered into this corner of MN were the fledglings - a long running but very friendly group welcomes newbies and follows the flylady way to try to get decluttered and on top of the boring stuff in order to have more time for the fun other boring but essential stuff

No idea whose turn it was to run the thread this month but here it the thread and we can figure it out from there.

Morning all Smile

Thank you for all the lovely welcomes. So my name is Cheryl, but we'll call myself strawberry on here Smile I'm 35, married with two boys in tow and two house rabbits. I work p/t at a dentist practice. I'm one of these people who enjoys cleaning owing to being a self diagnosed germophobe. Always going pottering away in my spare time in the kitchen and bathrooms with anti bac and bleach.

Stilllivinginazoo · 22/03/2018 07:42

How old are your boys strawberry?
Made baked coconut oatmeal for dd2
We had "honeygate" she used all by dregs my honey to make. Sugar scrub and left Demerara sugar and drips honey on table.i refused clean it(Monday) and there has been intermittent nagging.it got tip over by accident and dregs honey went over her "stuff" atomic bombs went off, hard hats ineffective..men down.tears,tantrums.whole nine yards...
For once I held my shit together rather than do screaming fishwife and firmly remind her it was an accident(lil zoo in floods tears as she knocked it) and had she done as was asked for past 3days it wouldn't have occured so had to take responsibility for the resulting actions..
Breakfasts and pack ups sorted
Bath wiped
Sink wiped
Fresh towels on radiator
Heating on
Dp worked last night and will be here as I leave for school run for a bath before j get back

The oatmeal "was alright" so I take that as was acceptable.added bonus my house smells lush.like coconutty flapjacks

Stilllivinginazoo · 22/03/2018 07:46

Btw she had clear up with wipes-i will prob need go over it thoroughly later but it's a start

Longtime · 22/03/2018 09:48

Waves to everyone! I’ve not been on for a while but have still been trying to keep up with the decluttering. I’ve finally done most of what I want to do in the garage. Old wardrobe to a friend’s, two tip runs including masses of documents we inherited when pil went back to the UK and the office became our house, moving boxes delivered to another friend, stuff moved from floor to newly vacated shelves. Still have stuff to get rid of and sort out down there but I need to move up to the attic it’s dh’s office and I promised him I’d start to declutter in the 3 weeks he was away. He comes back tomorrow 😂

CotswoldStrife · 22/03/2018 10:01

Waves back at Longtime, don't worry one day is plenty to start - you only said you'd start, not finish right Grin

strawberry I have one DD who is off to secondary school this September. We are in the middle of mock SATs at the moment.

DH is off today so we will be going for lunch later right after he's had tyres put on his car having no babysitters it's rare to get time to ourselves so even in the middle of the day we grab it!

One of my relatives has been taken ill (again), too far away for me to help at the moment but I'm keeping in touch by text. May ring later, I think everyone had a late night at A&E yesterday so should give them a bit of a sleep-in before asking for an update.

DD has something on tonight and a list of things she wants for tomorrow. I know my place!

Afreshcuppateaplease · 22/03/2018 10:54

Hope relative ok SC

Ta da

Washer on
Dryer on
Bed made

strawberry1122 · 22/03/2018 10:57

How is dd dealing with the sats Cots? I hope she is not stressing out too much. I hope your relative gets well soon.

@Fresh - Oh yes one minute they are best mates the next squabbling. Swaps and changes multiple times during the day but first thing my eldest does when i pick him up from is school is ask what his brother has been doing today Smile

Ok, first wave of housework done

dishes washed and put away
living room straightened
beds made
kids rooms tidied
quick wipe over bathrooms and both toilets bleached
washing machine on

Having another cuppa listening to popmasters then onto deep cleaning the kitchen.

foxessocks · 22/03/2018 12:06

Afternoon, hi strawberry , take care hills

ta da
booked new hygienist appointment after they wrote to me and cancelled...they do this a lot it is annoying!
some daily routine - dishwasher emptied, loaded, quick tidy, rubbish out etc.
went to supermarket for a few supplies and got myself a pretty box for my bedside table and a bunch of daffodils, feelings stupidly happy about them!
put the things on my bedside table in the box and admired how much tidier it looks. DH thinks I've gone storage mad, he may have a point.

To do
finish daily routine - attempt to do extra laundry as the pile is overflowing again.
make another dentist appointment for teeth straightening consultation
15 minutes tidying / decluttering in bedroom - this may be focused around said laundry pile!
swish and swipe bathroom

DS down for his nap finally, he was falling asleep on the way home from the supermarket at 11 but woke up the minute his head touched his bed so gave him another hour and have tried again. I can still hear him chattering to himself but at least he has stopped whinging. To be fair though some workmen have taken up residence right outside our house today and they are making an absolute racket. He can usually sleep through most things but the whole house is vibrating Shock

dd is at nursery today so I might possibly have my lunch in peace!

Stilllivinginazoo · 22/03/2018 14:06

Lunch consumed dp and I are going to move TV unit off side so I can dust behind it(first time in over a year)

Afreshcuppateaplease · 22/03/2018 14:31

🕷🕸 have fun zoo

Callmecordelia · 22/03/2018 17:04

There's so much I've missed! Welcome to strawberry and welcome back to Longtime.

I have taken to buying the odd bunch of daffs too Foxes. They're such happy flowers.

Lots of stuff done here. I've swapped the children's bedrooms which really needed doing, emptied the conservatory. Washed the covers on the sofa from the conservatory and put it in DS room.

While I was away from the thread I spent most of my spare time working on a job application. Term time only, school hours, the sort of job that's like gold dust. It's a maternity cover, but it's a foot in the door. Anyway, my hard work paid off because I got an interview! I am trying not to think "what if" too much, but I secretly, desperately want this job. I've sort of fallen into being a SAHM, but I get so lonely and it's getting depressing. Once childcare is paid for I'll hardly make any money, but I don't care.

I just found out, so Cake all round.

foxessocks · 22/03/2018 17:25

callme well done for getting an interview that is an acheivment in itself especially for those hours!

Ta da
Swish and swipe bathroom
More laundry
Made consultation
Dinner in oven - spinach and ricotta lasagne with garlic bread tonight.

What do people do with old perfume bottles?!

foxessocks · 22/03/2018 17:26

*consultation appointment. Stupid phone

FoolandFitz · 22/03/2018 18:41

Daffodils also make me happy - so much joy from such simple things.

Ta-da
Got through work (it was a trial)
Dropped off colleague at her GP surgery for appointment
Picked up online order from M and S
Attended DS's parents evening
Washing hung to dry
Bath cleaned and then run for DS

To-do
Wash away
Swish and swipe

Afreshcuppateaplease · 22/03/2018 18:43

Well done callme! That is the kind of job ill be wanting in a few years!

FoolandFitz · 22/03/2018 18:44

What do people do with old perfume bottles?!

How many you got? You can sell them. About £3 a bottle. See this for more detail.
