Right you horrible lot stop nattering so much nah it wouldn't be fun if you did

So you have wandered into this corner of MN were the fledglings - a long running but very friendly group welcomes newbies and follows the flylady way to try to get decluttered and on top of the boring stuff in order to have more time for the fun other boring but essential stuff

No idea whose turn it was to run the thread this month but here it the thread and we can figure it out from there.

Aaaaand pain flare. Yay. To be expected really, as it was so very cold. DH has been called into work early, which is annoying as I can't now sleep all morning, but good as he will now be back to do dinner bath etc. Not sure we will make it to tap though, gutted as it'll be the first time we have missed a club because of my health since before Xmas. But have to consider if it's worth pushing through or not. At least DH is home all day tomorrow, first time since last Wed. Glad that stretch of time is nearly over. Needless to say there will be no flying!

GoingGoingGoth · 20/03/2018 09:37

CotswoldStrife · 20/03/2018 10:23

The Lidl morning pastries are the mutts nuts, the croissants are lovely too Goth !

Rest up Cag, any attempt to push through is futile and will set you back further

zoo I'm just thinking about a first load of laundry, never mind a third!

foxes would your DD prefer pull-ups? I like fresh's idea of layering the bed but night-time dryness is down to a hormone I think - no way of rushing that. Have you had a look on the ERIC website?

Will crack on, have done school run and some shopping today so far.

foxessocks · 20/03/2018 12:16

Thanks cotswold yes dd was wearing pull up nappies up until a month or so ago but they were dry every night so we convinced her she didn't need them anymore. Then she got poorly then ok for a few days then she got chicken pox and since then loads of bed wetting. Not sure if it is illness related or just not ready yet.

I did buy some pull ups today and a new waterproof sheet - still not sure what to do though. The layering idea is great and I intend to do that in the future regardless but I think dd maybe needs a few nights where she isn't woken up so early by this as she is still recovering from being ill. She is not a naturally early riser so these early starts are definitely making her grumpy.

Sorry that was long winded. Basically I don't know what the answer is!!

foxessocks · 20/03/2018 12:21

When I say loads.of bed wetting I'm exaggerating Grin twice in a row and a few times.when she was unwell.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 20/03/2018 13:01

The only time my dd ever wet the bed she was poorly so i agree there too!

Just had spend money i dont really have on clothes for a party. I rarely go out and could not put anything decent together. Anyone else have this? Stuck in mum rut of skinnies and jumper!

Cagliostro · 20/03/2018 13:22

Ugh I have to get up and go downstairs now 😡 I didn’t get back to sleep but the rest was useful.

foxessocks · 20/03/2018 14:47

afresh I struggle with that too- no idea what's currently in fashion and never sure what suits me. I tend to go for skinny jeans and nicer top if I do go out!!

Hope you're ok cag Brew

Thanks everyone I feel reassured re the bed wetting. Dd wants to wear pull ups again so might just let her for now then try again later. I just want us all to get a good nights sleep!

Ta da
More washing on
Food shop online done still managing to stick to my budget but it takes time to do the shop. Going to try making a few more things from scratch next week this thread has inspired me, I do love to cook but I also do cut corners due to time / energy! Going to make my own curry pastes and some bread too hopefully.
Did bedroom decluttering put all my hair stuff into nice new storage basket thing I got from wilko this morning

As part of decluttering I'm trying to use stuff I never get round to using - found a nice colouring book so have suggested to the dc we all do colouring together this afternoon! Stop us from relying on the tv for the rest of the day too.

Can't believe how much better I feel now that horrible cold has gone.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 20/03/2018 15:12

Ta da:-
Decluttered some bits in memory boxes. This was the Clutterbug challenge. She advises 15 mins like Flylady. Ha ha ha ha 15 hours needed more like! Have made a start anyway.
Some shoes and a skirt to charity shop
Helped with a school thing
Went for a run

To do:-
Pick up DDs. Parents evening so need to amuse them for a bit before our appointment. Have a packed and have Costa ready as a bribe.

Re. night time dryness. I am the last person to advise really but... I think if she is now asking I would let her have them but you know her best of course. Definitely agree with everyone else that illness can set you back. As Cotswold says, the ERIC website is fab. In essence though it is physiological rather than psychological, as in it is related to being physically mature enough rather than behaviourally mature (although of course there is an element of that).

Great layering trick Afresh! Totally agree on the clothes front. I am so shabby and scruffy and meantto make an effort with make up and stuff. Amount of make up on today.... none. Will do better tomorrow. I have to be careful with eye make up anyway as my eyes are sensitive so can’t wear it everyday.

Glad you feel a bit better Cag.

Big wing flaps to all.

Steamcloud · 20/03/2018 16:08

Regards: clothes (have wittered on about this before so apologies for repetition) and - disclaimer - I look awful in everything nowadays owing to being generally decrepid and 3 stones overweight!! But because I'm lazy and CBA nowadays and don't want to spend any energy "thinking" about this, I basically have indoor and outdoor "uniforms" or have four pairs of same trousers and six of same tops for "outside" day-time and many pairs of yoga pants/thin polo shirts for "inside" day-time.

Then for going out (evenings at theatre, weddings etc) I have two (or at a pinch three) "best" outfits ready, one for winter and one for summer and one for between seasons, right down to shoes, tights, scarves, bags, jewellery etc. (These haven't actually changed much in last two/three years because of budget.). If we visit friends for supper then I just wear ordinary day "outside" outfit spruced up with scarf/smarter shoes.

Boring as hell but it works for me ... .

Steamcloud · 20/03/2018 16:18

Foxes fwiw I'd go with pull ups too! If she was dry before being ill, she'll be dry again in time ... .

Great you had a lovely day with your dd1 Zoo!

Hope you had nice lunch with your friend today Goth

Waves to HennyPenny! Smile

Hope you are feeling better Cag and Afresh!

Brag away Bertha, well done to Little Zoo!

I would love to upgrade my wardrobe a bit, I hardly fit anything at the moment. I'm OK for tops but need to get more stuff to fit my lower half!

completely inauthentic risotto for tea tonight, not quite zoo-level cooking so attempted to improve it with fresh chopped parsley and grated parmesan. I think it helped

Ah yes, I forgot about the chickenpox - agree with the other fledglings that it can be a sign of some kind of impending illness, my DD used to get ill a day or so after a wetting incident. I'd blocked it out forgotten that bit!

Will post the links shortly.

Morning. I've woken up early for some reason - dc still asleep. I hate my wardrobe and sorting the shoes out is a hideous job!

Forgot last night dinner was roast chiclen thighs, parsnips, courgette onion with an orange syrup glaze / sauce and roast potatoes. It didn't look quite like it was meant to but it was delicious actually!

Afreshcuppateaplease · 21/03/2018 06:53
