Right you horrible lot stop nattering so much nah it wouldn't be fun if you did

So you have wandered into this corner of MN were the fledglings - a long running but very friendly group welcomes newbies and follows the flylady way to try to get decluttered and on top of the boring stuff in order to have more time for the fun other boring but essential stuff

No idea whose turn it was to run the thread this month but here it the thread and we can figure it out from there.

Had that.nits by lorry load.so far avoided worms with younger three(touches wood)
Dd1 caught it in nursery

I was informed as I posted on MN and felt pleased I was on it this morning by D's he has cookery and needed 6different fruits and fruit juice in a named tub.today...

Luckily he did have fore thought to tell me off this last Friday so I had fruit juice in but not which day it was for...
Cue frantic scramble for 6different fruits...
Banana, apple, pear, black grapesi was squirreling away for me a stray kiwi..I panicked then remembered the freezer!!raspberries completed the line up!phew

I've been saving for the chicken pox jab for DS. DH had the jab because he couldn't remember if he'd had it as a child, and sadly we can't rely on his mother to be truthful. We can't afford for him to get that ill and chickenpox as an adult can be nasty.

Good luck with it Foxes. DD got quite a nasty dose. If your other one hasn't had it (I can't scroll back to check) sorry, but be prepared for the second child to get it worse, as they get massive exposure to the virus from the first one.

To do
Home bleugh which I didn't do yesterday
Some anti procrastination

When DS fell asleep for his nap, I did too yesterday. Blush Not a lot got done.

Bowerbird5 · 13/03/2018 07:45

Morning.
So love me Teasmade. I have been drinking chai while doing my planning in bed! DT order hasn't arrived so I need to switch lessons. It means a whole afternoon of RE. Thank goodness it is Easter so I am going to set up five tables of activities. Just been on Catholic Toolbox for ideas and I don't need to go anywhere else. That mum and followers have such brilliant ideas.
So a quick visit here while having second cup then mad dash to get ready no flying this morning except me on my broomstick to work!

Sorry to hear about the chickenpox but better now than later. I got it when my sisters ( much younger) did. I was 17 and very ill for three weeks. Mum used to put bi carb in the bath.
Flying yesterday.
Cleaned basin and toilet.
Worked hard at school. All of my morning group turned up yeah! All my Maths children had everything right. Yeah! Painting finally finished.Yeah!
Reheated lamb and went to quiz. Not full team but came second. 😄
Still haven't tidied bedroom corner. Clothes - where to put them? One drawer jammed at moment and need to declutter clothing. DD just bought me a new pair of socks...now I have forty five pairs!😱 how does anyone accumulate that many? I could believe it when I counted them however they aren't my problem as I fold flat and have a Lakeland divider and they fit in nicely bar about three pairs which is one ready, one on and one in wash. Oh look at time must go. ☺️
Have a wonderful day everyone.

foxessocks · 13/03/2018 07:53

Oh slightly freaking out about ds possibly getting it worse Shock

zoo worms I had it a few times as a child and I can still remember screaming from the itching Sad hideous.

So...obviously I can't go out until spots crusted over but how does this work with ds? Can he not go out until he has had it now?! Or is it ok for him to go out until he does get it? I had tickets booked for a baby thing on Thursday but not sureif i could ask my mum to look after dd while i take him if he is still ok.

Also...my mum and dad have had it so are they both ok to visit?!

I have.zero experience of chicken pox. I had it as a baby so don't even remember it at all.none of my friends kids have had it yet well some of them have it now at the same time as us.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 13/03/2018 07:59

We havent had worms yet touch wood.
Ds1 had nits once when a toddler.

Ds2 did indeed get chickpox much worse than ds1. Although i was told at the time as he was under 1 he would only get it mildly and may then get it a second time. Anyway he was caked in them!

I would treat your ds as normal foxes he might not even get it. HFM is apparently super contagous and only one of mine ever had it, and they were both at the chewing everything spit sharing stage too. As long as adults are aware dd has it i would leave it up to them to decide if they visit

Callmecordelia · 13/03/2018 08:11

Sorry to freak you out. It happened to my nephew - my sister let them carry on as normal, hugging his spotty sister, getting into bed with her etc as she had it quite mildly and she thought he was going to catch it anyway. The result was a massive exposure and he ended up in hospital - it was only after it happened that I googled and found out about it. I'd never heard about it before, but the hospital doctors said that was what happened. I think you're supposed to try and keep them apart. I didn't have two children when DD had chicken pox, this was all from searching the Internet for chicken pox and siblings.

Personally, and opinions differ on this, but if you know your other child has been exposed, I wouldn't take them to crowded spaces. I'm really sorry. Sad

Your mum and dad are fine to visit and if you've had it, I'd take the chance to get out of the house when they do. The chicken pox cabin fever is awful.

Stilllivinginazoo · 13/03/2018 08:40

You must've needed the sleep callme
Foxes I'd carry on as normal with D's,maybe bit more cautious around preggo ladies

foxessocks · 13/03/2018 08:41

I won't take him I think I would be too worried about any pregnant women who might be there. Best to just suck it up and hole up indoors I guess! Keeping them apart will be impossible - they share everything! I guess I'll just have to do what I can...thing is as the spots only came out yesterday she was contagious days before and they were sharing food, drink, baths so it's too late really. I hope he doesn't get it too bad Sad

Stilllivinginazoo · 13/03/2018 08:44

Oh and it's very rare if you've had chicken pox to get it twice so grandparents be fine.also can't develop shingles from chicken pox(part same virus) but interestingly some one with shingles can infect someone who never had chicken pox to develop pox useless fact for the day

I remember having pox-my sister bought it in aged 13.the eldest did one week in first job then dropped with it and there were lots fighting between them...I was 4 and remember getting banana and custard for breakfast Grinmy neighbours lot all has it too so we played out(very quiet village road) on the path in our best and pants on pedal cars for a bit til my mum caught us and made us play in back garden!!

Stilllivinginazoo · 13/03/2018 08:47

He will be ok foxes lil zoo went last and she was one huge pox could barely see any skin on her, even in her hair and bum crack.thst said she was still in nappies and sailed thru it so a bad dose doesn't always make them feel really unwell.sending virtual hugs andFlowersit's hard waiting to see if they going to drop

foxessocks · 13/03/2018 08:49

zoo I googled that about shingles as was worried! My parents are going to drop in at some point I think. My mum has offered to go to the pharmacy. My neighbour is bringing a bag of teddies over to cheer dd up. What lovely people!

HillsBesideTheSea · 13/03/2018 09:05

I have had chicken pox twice. Bastard 2nd time around cost me my final year of uni and I had to repeat it to graduate.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 13/03/2018 09:21

nhs chickenpox advice

Ibuprofen in chickenpox can increase the risk of severe skin infections best link I can find here. It is a small risk but since it does present a risk current NHS advice is that it is best avoided (see NHS choices link).

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 13/03/2018 09:21

Hills, that is horrible!

Afreshcuppateaplease · 13/03/2018 09:32

foxes my ds2 had it the worst out of my 4 but wasnt poorly with it at all! Neither was ds1. Dd was abit under weather. Ds3 it floored though. He seems to react badly to everything.

When ds2 had HFM, he and ds1 used to share dummies. They werent encourage but they were 1 and 2 years old and it happened! Yet ds1 never caught it.

Cagliostro · 13/03/2018 10:23

That’s really interesting, DD I think caught it at nursery and DS who was about 17m did have it worse.

Well DH’s surprise day off has been snatched away again. FFS. So annoyed. Need to get to hospital for bloods (they better let me in with her in sling) while they stay home and do HE, then meet friend for trip into different town to get tap shoes. Then I have to take them to tap so I don’t get a rest :(

ta da so far

foxessocks · 13/03/2018 10:31

Thanks for all your kind and wise words! I'm trying to remian calm re ds...not a lot I can do. I won't put them in the same bath for now at least. I'm going to see if any of my fB friends want the tickets. As its a baby show I think I should definitely avoid even if ds doesn't have it at that point.

Right. Must make a list and get on. Feeling very stuffed up and tired so will take it a bit easy.

G'morning all. Bit of shopping done this morning, including a croissant and a freebie McD's coffee for me (very jazzy new cups, didn't have those last night though).

foxes my DD had slow developing spots when she had CP, took about 5 days for them all to come out rather like the zoolets. zoo and fresh are right about the incubation period, children can be infectious long before you realise that they have it - when my DD caught it there was quite a bit of it round the school probably because they'd all been on a coach trip

Cag don't make me get snappy about the early bedtime having had one myself Halo Grin

Cordelia I had CP as an adult, it's not nice although the bout that Hills had sounds horrendous!

Bower 45 pairs?! I am imaging the sock drawer of my dreams, neatly folded.

Will crack on with some actual work now and catch you again at lunchtime.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 13/03/2018 13:09
