Tbf they dont look real!

foxessocks · 28/02/2018 11:31

Ta das
Sorted through loads of photos
Dh has started sorting our new life insurance policy
Finished daily routine

Dd is still asleep. Poor thing. Ds seems absolutely fine and dh seems ok now too.

To do
15 mins living room
Detail Hoover living room
Finish photos and possibly do photo book if I can summon the energy.

Not sure what to do about dinner later I think the dc need bland food for now really. We were going to have pasta bake so maybe plain pasta for them. Not sure if that will be ok.

Bowerbird5 · 28/02/2018 11:59

☺️ I have the pointy stick--------->

Ta Das
Cleaned out and fed chicken.
Sorted washing one load on. That's it. Lazy mare. Starting sitting room now. Invited friend for pub lunch but.... Four foot snow drift in lonning and the pubs shut because owners and chef and deliveries can't get here. Excuses, excuses. We sent them a message saying we were coming for lunch 😤 ha ha!
Love your garden is on, gorgeous. He could come and do my garden. I've met Monty Don but prefer Alan.

Steamcloud · 28/02/2018 14:25

Oh Bower it's Monty all the way for me I'm afraid ... especially when straddling a hornbeam

Steamcloud · 28/02/2018 14:47

So sorry you are feeling so ill Hills. Sounds like you have all the symptoms of a full blown attack without the actual head pain if you have taken all those meds. Still really unpleasant; like being run over by a truck. Go gently. Hope you can rest and feel much better soon.

Sorry to hear your brood are still under the weather Foxes. It's so frustrating when plans are continually thwarted and things are outside of your control. I remember being alone once with dd when she was a toddler and ill, and dh was travelling, and I was nearly crying with frustration because I just wanted to walk down the road for 5 mins by myself to buy a newspaper, and I couldn't do something as simple as that! Here's hoping your family are all fit as a fiddle by the weekend!

Anyway, I am joining the ranks of the below par yet again. Ear infection hasn't cleared up so I have started on meds which have triggered stomach issues and a mahoosive painful red rash across my chest. It honestly hurts to stand up straight. Doctor looked at it this morning and said "C'est un mystère" which is er, reassuring not. But she reassured me it's not shingles which is good!

Feel crap enough not to be able to do anything productive but not ill enough to be in bed ifsywim. Gah! I've just realised I am in the perfect condition to shred papers ...oooohhhh nnooooooo Grin

Oh and rabbit is still suffering and needs an operation on Friday (always risky because their metabolic rate is so high that they need about five times the anaesthetic required by a cat).

Oh and our bathroom sink has frozen. Waiting for lavs to go next.

It was -8°C in the car this morning but has risen to -2°c now. Doesn't feel much warmer in the house!

Keep warm everybody!

Steamcloud · 28/02/2018 14:57

Narwhal's are totally miraculous aren't they?

I love Pangolins (scaly anteaters)

Steamcloud · 28/02/2018 15:03

Oh yes Flying:

Ta da:
animals
early doc appt
dd packed lunch (not usually needed on Weds as half day but she is out at study project this afternoon)
early vet appt
early doc appt
phoned sister about travel arrangements
prepped stuff for fortnightly ironing lady who also kindly cleaned kitchen
stopped dithering about them and packed up two bags of clothes for charity bins

To do:
shred papers
make soup?

Afreshcuppateaplease · 28/02/2018 15:25

-4 here

Snow is just falling and falling and falling

Id be very surprised if school is open tomorrow or friday

foxessocks · 28/02/2018 15:45

afresh are you enjoying your snow day or do you want the kids back at school now?!Grin
Dd has almost been off nursery for a week with illness and now it's shut today I'm wondering if she'll be back at all this week. sc that's exactly it just nothing going to plan the last few weeks but that's just how it goes with small kids I guess! I just really hope we can get away this weekend as we have a cottage booked and we will lose the money and won't be able to afford to visit my nephew again for a few months at least Sad

Anyway. Not much I can do except get the kids to rest. also feeling sad at the world and his wife going past our window with sledges and my friend text me a photo from the village pub (she didn't know we were ill she was seeing if we wanted to join them!)

Both me and dh feel a bit poorly now so we are also resting a bit now

Ta da
Did more laundry
Loaded dishwasher again
Tidied toys and took some upstairs
Dh hoovered living room
Finished sorting the photos ready for the photo book but not sure i will finish that task today.

To do
Make dinner later - tuna pasta bake and plain pasta for the kids

Sorry I think I've repeated myself loads!

foxessocks · 28/02/2018 15:46

Yep I've definitely waffled on about dinner already Grin

Afreshcuppateaplease · 28/02/2018 15:50

I want them back at school 7 hours ago ....

Bowerbird5 · 28/02/2018 15:53

Me too. A car has just attempted our hill. Several people had to push him. He isn't local don't know where he has come from. Could have had a tricky drive here!
Sun has come out.

Folded washing. Another load on tidied sitting room & vacuumed.
Dining room, vacuumed.

HillsBesideTheSea · 28/02/2018 16:13

I slept. Alot. Still feel vague and fuzzyheaded. But no more sleep for now because:
1, ds is home and he is shouting
2, building work is going on

  1. I want to sleep tonight
Steamcloud · 28/02/2018 16:16

Foxes fingers crossed for the w/e x Sounds like one of those bugs that is getting passed back and forth between you all.

Wishing "courage" (in strong Fr accent) to Afresh and Hills

Need to fold washing like Bowerbird and put more loads on

Steamcloud · 28/02/2018 16:17

You are not the only one Foxes here

foxessocks · 28/02/2018 17:09

Thanks sc think I will need that thread tomorrow! Today has been a bit easier in terms of toddler wrangling because dh is here so I have had a few breaks! I reckon dh will get to work tomorrow.

Off to cook dinner

Stilllivinginazoo · 28/02/2018 18:14

I had dentist yesterday.one of my "fangs" had been broken to the gum for a while and after an infection before Xmas I plucked up courage to have it pulled.as acute dental phobic was huge deal for me to even get that far.couldnt get enough aneastetic into it to numb it 100%.wasnt pretty.i cried -hangs head in shame came out tearful and in shock I think.dentist was kind, not his fault one of those things.
Felt very sorry for myself.tiday feel like I've been kicked in face by a horse

Tada
Bit shopping
Made and ate mash
Two loads laundry

Not much else

20of the 30min walk for lil zoo in blizzard which stop as I got almost there.i arrive wearing an inch snow on front of my personal and parents staring wtf looks at me as got out of cars....

Made hot chocolate
Sat almost on top fire for an hour defrosting
Dd2 excstatic no school tom-gas leak means heatings patchy so yrs 9-10 are off til sorted and rest school be shifting across the site to most functioning rooms..she's been warned some teachers may email work.shes cool with that

Corned beef and more mash for tea.i have had lots probs my teeth and am missing too many quite a few now, mainly at sides and having trouble eating as no where to chew properly without banging the hole.
Third world issues I know(kicks self up bum and buries head under blanket)

Steamcloud · 28/02/2018 18:25

Oh poor you Zoo, sounds so painful, but fabulously well done for ploughing on through despite the dread. Wish I was close enough to make mash for you!

Lisette40 · 28/02/2018 19:07

Sorry to hear that zoo.

Have been slovenly on the housekeeping front ShockBlush. Garden looks tidier with all the snow though Grin.

Keep warm fledglings.

foxessocks · 28/02/2018 19:23

zoo that sounds horrible, hope you're okay. Well done for going - that can't have been easy, you're very brave.

Kids have been bathed and put to bed - I didn't bother with ironing tonight, too tired. We are all quite grumpy tbh, dd is upset because we won't let her have her normal foods due to upset stomach. Ds was grumpy because he was put to bed then got back up again because his nappy had to be changed AGAIN.

And I see dd nursery school will probably be open tomorrow and they are planning to build snowmen - poor dd is missing everything fun! I know she won't know but I know! Also made me realise I don't even have any waterproof gloves for the kids anyway.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 28/02/2018 21:45

Well done zoo, the dentist will totally understand why you cried, it sounds as if you were amazing Flowers. I had a horrible dental experience a couple of years ago and cried in the dentist’s chair myself then.

Has been a long snowy day and I’m afraid I am in the naughty corner. Have done nothing since getting in and I think I am just going to write today off and start again tomorrow.

Sorry to hear you are all poorly foxes, rubbish timing with snow and world book week for DD to miss out on.

CotswoldStrife · 28/02/2018 23:01

Still super-jittery about school allocations here. DD has gone to bed early I hope she's not getting sick! I can't concentrate on anything!

Will catch up on the thread and post some links on the March one (will post a link to that one here as well.)

There's been a bit of snow today but the main bit is tomorrow afternoon - one of the schools near us has said it will close early to make sure everyone can get home which seems a good idea really. I would love a snow day or two but World Book Day is a motivating factor for my DD to get in to school so she can wear her costume!

For March, I was thinking of asking what people had for dinner/tea/supper (whatever you call your main evening meal). I have a feeling that zoo's menus will leave me drooling and I'll have to admit that I did sausage and frozen chips like tonight Blush Might make me improve my menus if I have to admit make them public

Very best of luck for your dd tomorrow morning Cotswold!

CotswoldStrife · 01/03/2018 00:09

DD got her second choice of school - although I knew it was likely, I feel surprisingly sad about it Sad Ho hum.

I've put the links for March in the thread below.

(Just up to take aspirin). Ohhh I'm sorry you didn't get your first choice Cotswold; I know how long you spent visiting all the schools etc. Can you appeal the decision at all? I hope your dd isn't too disappointed anyway x
