Hello all - welcome to our February thread for 2018. Everyone is welcome and it's never too late to join in. We are decluttering our homes and keeping them clean and tidy(ish) as well as having some general chat as well.

We follow the Flylady method, and will post links daily to the missions via the Flylady website. For more information, have a look at www.flylady.net/

Here's to a fun February for all of us (with the occasional prod from the pointy stick of motivation and visits to the naughty corner Cake Brew Wine ) Grin

Cagliostro · 03/02/2018 16:32

Afreshcuppateaplease · 03/02/2018 17:29

cag you forget -

Everyone fed no one dead

Lisette40 · 03/02/2018 17:33

wobbly flying back onto thread. Had that horrid throat, flu like virus. On the mend but more disinfecting than cleaning got done. Get well soon those also afflicted with various ailments. Way behind with everything!

CotswoldStrife · 03/02/2018 17:38

Welcome back Lisette, that flu virus is awful - DD has had it this last week and dettol spraying has featured heavily in my week.

DD is eating a takeaway (she's hardly eaten all week so this is good news) and I am having my first professional coffee of the week. Tis lovely.

Have done a few loads of laundry today, as has DH - will need to run the tumble dryer tonight if we want to be able to walk around the house without running into airers everywhere!

I can't even claim it was the flu CS. I think it was a flu like adenovirus

I could pick up £50 in the middle of the floor (simple flu test) if I wanted to but was awake with a really sore throat and was really tired. Headaches, chills, fever. But am reunited with my Zoflora bottle now in an effort to prevent the spread.

Thanks for the welcome back. Glad your DD is better. That's a relief.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 03/02/2018 18:06

Lisette sounds like what i had. It was grim.

Stilllivinginazoo · 03/02/2018 18:07

foxessocks · 03/02/2018 18:48

Only just got back home. Luckily I did make use of those 20 mins earlier so came back to a relatively tidy house which felt good. I didn't do the bathroom AGAIN but I have just put some washing on.

Ds already in bed. Dd is on her second big bowl of porridge (meals have been all over the place today!). Hopefully we'll be able to find a good film to watch later.

Hope everyone has had a nice Saturday.

foxessocks · 03/02/2018 18:49

zoo good voucher to get!

FoolandFitz · 03/02/2018 20:01

Hi just popping in quickly to post ta-da's for today:

Bed made first thing
Breakfast things washed up straight away
Went for a walk with DP and DS
Swished and swiped bathroom
Walked to pub for lunch
Lunch with friend
Walked back
Napped!
Dinner made (I had Chinese style steamed sea bass with ginger, garlic and chilli with rice noodles and cooked separately for DP and DS because they don't like Chinese food or seabass) Hmm

Today was about taking care of myself. Smile

GoingGoingGoth · 03/02/2018 20:38

Not many Ta-dahs this evening

Class went well this morning, was the last for this group, week off next weekend, then a new batch starting again the week after.
Write up for blog.
Made dinner

Lisette you have my sympathies over your cough, been fighting it off since middle of December. Got over the flu part then went down with chest infection. I'm clear of that now but the cough won't go or feeling drained every couple of days, I've just had a two hour nap.

Cagliostro · 03/02/2018 21:34

ta da continued
✅daily focus - family fun, played a new board game with DS and DH
✅had a bath

Going to take Cagletini to bed now

Stilllivinginazoo · 03/02/2018 21:35

fool good to hear you are well and looked after yourself.i am finding eating properly a real effort (yes, zoolets eat well but I just grab handful sweets/bag crisps n keep in going til drop)I doing better but still work in progress..

Goodness so many poorly bunnies on the thread.hooe spring hurries the fuck up and the germs all die back asap...

CotswoldStrife · 03/02/2018 22:28

Cag, take yourself to bed as well! I will post the links next and make an effort to turn the laptop off rather than browse uncontrollably!

zoo, don't you eat all the lovely food you make? I'm craving angel delight now, haven't had that for ages - at one point DH had to eat soft food for a bit and that was one of the items we had.

Waves to Lisette (my DD was ill about a fortnight ago with a grim bug that was not flu, I'm sure it wore her down until she got the real thing last week so do be careful and take it easy if you can), fresh, foxes, Fool and Goth.

tada (my first one for ages)

Put together a rather large cupboard that was really not easy to put together. When I eventually got to the shelves, they were with these hook things that didn’t seem to have big enough claws to hold them. Dh was helping me (it’s usually me that puts the furniture together (Ikea) but this one occasionally required assistance!) but even then it landed on my ear once and a couple of them collapsed with only a couple of files on! I seem to have it sorted now (the trick seemed to be not to put all the files on one end of the shelf as it seems to be the weight holding the shelves in place. Put most of the files I want in there.

Sorted out all but one of the big boxes that came from dh’s parents’ apartment nearly five years ago (their family business office was based there but now it’s here as pil returned to Scotland). They haven’t even been looked at in all that time!

To do tomorrow

Put up final shelf
Sort out final box
Do a tip run

Cagliostro · 04/02/2018 03:25

That’s a great ta da!

I did go to bed soon after my post, didn’t manage to sleep for a while but I read a chapter then just lay down for a bit first. Now up feeding baby as she’s had an awful nighttime cough for a few days, she coughed so hard she puked (not normally a sicky baby) and there was phlegm in it too :( a trip to the pharmacy is on the to do list for today I think.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 04/02/2018 05:19

Poor cagletini! Too tiny to be sick Sad

Up at 5 with ds3. He is in a very good mood the funny little thing! He slept badly yesterday daytime so was expecting a bad night but he slept 7-5 so cant complain.

Going to try and remember yesterdays ta das -->

Hall swept and mopped
Two loads washed dry and away
Cleared out under pram
Cleaned microwave
Descaled kettle
Emptied bin
Recycling out
Sent a debt related email
Everyone fed 3 meals
Most of pots washed before bed
Moved coffee maker
Half of another cupboard in kitchen decluttered
Ordered base units for utility room which is finally getting sorted this month
Washer on again at bedtime

Bowerbird5 · 04/02/2018 06:34

Yesterday's Ta Das
I cleaned fridge out. Made myself some breakfast 1 fed, not dead, wiped work tops Lemon Zoflora and loaded dishwasher. Didn't feel great after I got up so skipped the cleaning cupboards.
Had a rest then vacuumed floors right through.
Was going to bake cake but felt really iffy so text friend to check blood pressure as had problem with it dropping on Tuesday. She came down stayed a while and took it three times. High not low😳
She went home as her son made tea. Another mutual friend arrived with bowl of prepared salad and I had salmon. I managed to microwave that but was feeling very wary. Nurse friend phoned and questioned me and told me to ring 111. Lots of q's. Paramedics arrived and after q's took me to A&E😳went prepared this time with PJ's and a couple of magazines. They kept me until after midnight. Lovely young doctor. She was so caring. Very noisy pair next door arrived drunk one fallen over heard the whole story about seven times and I was trying to rest/ doze. Police involved too. Nursing staff told them to be quiet several times. You could have heard them a 100metres away. Back home now. Still seem puzzled about what is causing chest pain, back pain, fast pulse, high blood pressure.
Take note Lisette I had the virus in December and they think I still have it.
Feeling a bit better today so far. Need to light fire. Need to make cake, buy s'wiches, prep for Mass as my turn for Children's Liturgy, go to Mass, pick up for choir. Make something for tea, bed early

Bowerbird5 · 04/02/2018 06:36

Great Ta Das Cags,Afresh
Well done Longtime

Afreshcuppateaplease · 04/02/2018 06:41

Bower Shock you poor thing! Drunk people in a&e piss me off. Its such a big issue at the moment. I had to take one of the dc in in an evening last year and it was so busy. Half the people there looked pissed or like they thought it was a nice trip out. Group of teenagers taking bloody selfies. Me and my ds had to sit on the floor for two hours. What made me most angry was several older people having to sit among all the pissed idiots. Sad

Make sure you get plenty of rest anyway bower! BrewCakeFlowers

Have remembered i also hoovered the stairs yesterday

Stilllivinginazoo · 04/02/2018 07:04

bower slow and steady please(firm tone)
Afresh I can do early with good tempered kids.still tired arsey ones that won't go back to sleep give me the rage.agree with A+e idiots.i think too many forget how lucky we have to have free healthcare plus raised as entitled snowflakesAngry
When lil zoo was 7wks I had an ambulance sent from OOH to check her over.it was run up to Xmas and a sat night.the ambulance staff were amazingly kind.they diagnose bronchiolitis and said we could go to hospital or stay home and monitor, ring us back gets worse.as I had no help with other two that night(Dp working and was near midnight so too late try find a neighbour etc to watch them)they suggested ring back if necessary.i felt awful drag them out when it was so busy.their reply was we would rather come to a baby with breathing difficulties 10x than have to pick up drunks and be yelled at all night.turns out they were short staffed due to flu and there had already been 3 reported assaults to paramedics that night.this was 10yrs ago and it's gotten worse since.....

Cag poor cagletini.sometimes they yack out if can't cough it up so fingers crossed she's a little better todayFlowers

Cotswold guilty of preparing and not eating(trying to change habit and accept I have to take better care of me too)

Lil zoo had meds
Cats/kits fed
Menu plan for week written
