Hello all - welcome to our February thread for 2018. Everyone is welcome and it's never too late to join in. We are decluttering our homes and keeping them clean and tidy(ish) as well as having some general chat as well.

We follow the Flylady method, and will post links daily to the missions via the Flylady website. For more information, have a look at www.flylady.net/

Here's to a fun February for all of us (with the occasional prod from the pointy stick of motivation and visits to the naughty corner Cake Brew Wine ) Grin

Ps bower hope you are okay.

FeedtheTree · 01/02/2018 21:49

@StillLivingInAZoo - if she needs any extra odd socks, I can help.

Stilllivinginazoo · 01/02/2018 21:52

feed always.i swear SHE eats socks too.always pinching her brothers as "can't find any" within couple months she seems lose at least 6-8 pairs.how I've no ideaConfused

FeedtheTree · 01/02/2018 21:53

@Cagliostro That's a good idea. How come I never thought of it?

Not sure any socks would ever get washed in our house if I tried it though. There's a very high sock divorce rate round here.

Bowerbird5 · 01/02/2018 22:49

Thanks for all your good wishes it has been a mixed day. Tired now. Been to GP who was a bit taken aback to find I had been in overnight. More tests ordered. Taking it a day at a time.
I haven't known you ladies long and yet I feel the warmth and concern which means a great deal to me so thank you☺️
Going to sleep now.

Longtime · 01/02/2018 23:38

CotswoldStrife · 01/02/2018 23:44

Thank you cag, you are so right, the headspace being taken up by the guilt of not doing stuff is nearly as bad as the other types of stresses anyway! Look after yourself too, I agree with zoo, I am a bit in awe of you managing to homeschool and do clubs on buses with a little baby in tow too, you definitely need to cut yourself some slack with the other stuff!
Welcome to newcomers/returners 😊
Hope you're ok Bower, I think I missed a chunk of what's been happening with you when I was awol at the beginning of the week, I'm sorry 😕
Lots of lovely ta da lists today 😊

To do
Clean front door
Hoover porch
Declutter bag purse car
Daily routine
Swish and swipe downstairs loo
Something from anti procrastination list!

Need to go to sainsburys but really not sure where I'm going to fit that in today.

Cagliostro · 02/02/2018 08:41

FML well that was a rubbish night. Totally wired and anxious and found it hard to sleep even when baby did (and she slept less than usual). My tooth broke (so now really have no excuse not to find a dentist, I am properly terrified though 😷). And then the baby puked up over me.

Really not sure I deserve any admiration (much as I’m grateful for it! 💐) - TBH the getting out and about bit is easy ATM as she just goes in the buggy or sling, I have a 10yo willing to help with things like getting her in the snowsuit etc and both Caglets are pretty helpful, it’s not the same as having younger kids who need more looking after themselves IYSWIM. It’ll be harder when she’s toddling and not tolerating being strapped in I think. Anyway at the moment it’s the being at home I’m struggling with more perhaps. I dunno I am rambling. Uggggh stressy stresshead.

Need to get up and out, plumber coming this morning so I’m taking the Caglets to the library while DH waits in for him.

GoingGoingGoth · 02/02/2018 09:13

Morning all

Sounds like rough nights all round, hope everyone gets a chance to recharge during the day.

Now I feel like I'm bragging as I managed to get an extra 45 mins in bed this morning, as I asked/told DH to get DD moving this morning. She's 13 now, and theoretically can get herself ready but if we don't watch out she goes back to bed. Bringing her bed time forward 30 minutes has made a difference,

So first Ta-dahs of the day

Swish & swipe
DD to school
Picked up little shopping on way home
Dry laundry away
Load in washer
Dehumidifier on in my bedroom = unimpressed cat who was napping

Now I'm going to get a couple hours data inputting done before lunch.

WhispersOfWickedness · 02/02/2018 10:22

Morning all! Rubbish night here too, I was really angry about something and couldn't sleep until pretty late 😔
Ta das:
Swish & swipe
Laundry
Dishwasher on
Surfaces wiped, hob wiped
Living room tidied

Aaaaand... no sign of my friend visiting 🙈😅 At least I can now put my feet up and enjoy my free Friday guilt free apart from all the crap I have stashed in my bedroom 😂

Afreshcuppateaplease · 02/02/2018 10:34

Morning all

Had an okay night sleep but still feel really urgh!

Dp picked up his washing! Amazing!

foxessocks · 02/02/2018 11:09

afresh hope he didn't make any comments when he picked it up!

Ta das
Went to sainsburys so got some food we needed and ds swimming costume which has been on my to do list for ages. And I stuck to my list despite seeing things I could have got for dd for her birthday but trying to spend less (and I've already got her enough so told myself I'd only get more if I have a voucher to use later in the month)

No other ta das...house is a tip tbh. Just having a cup of tea and hopefully we get something done before we have to leave to get dd. I've got that Friday feeling! (Even though dh working tomorrow so just like any other day anyway Hmm)

Afreshcuppateaplease · 02/02/2018 11:47

Typed a massive post and mn ate it Angry

foxessocks · 02/02/2018 12:51

Hate it when that happens afresh

I need to move off the sofa and get some stuff done.

CotswoldStrife · 02/02/2018 13:12

Afternoon fledglings - we got a fair bit of sleep last in in stages, the antibiotics are really helping already, I think.

Hello to Hills - get some sleep, I find it best if I set a time to turn my laptop off otherwise I just fritter the night away on the internet!,
whispers
Bower,
zoo,
foxes - I am also trying to stick more closely to the actual list when shopping if I remember to take it with me ,
Cag - can you speak to your GP if you are feeling bad, it is better to catch this kind of thing at the start IYSWIM,
Goth I am with you on the can-do-but-needs-constant-reminders thing, my DD is 11,
fresh

I did get dressed first thing when I eventually woke up, but no flying yet. DH does get home early on a Friday so will have no excuse later (this does not mean that anything will happen, though!). Catch you all later!

FlyingJellyfishInTheAttic · 02/02/2018 15:17

Hi everyone,

Sorry I have been off and I hope you have all had productive flying.

Been blitzing through house and barring small tweaks living room is complete and attic clutter has been organised. Office area and dining room almost finished just dh needs to build extra shelving.

By end of Feb dining room and office will be complete and that is a relief.

Every day for next two months to do list planned meaning if kept to by March living room, dining room, office and bathroom done and shed built for attic clutter so attic emptied ready for builders.
