Hello all - welcome to our February thread for 2018. Everyone is welcome and it's never too late to join in. We are decluttering our homes and keeping them clean and tidy(ish) as well as having some general chat as well.

We follow the Flylady method, and will post links daily to the missions via the Flylady website. For more information, have a look at www.flylady.net/

Here's to a fun February for all of us (with the occasional prod from the pointy stick of motivation and visits to the naughty corner Cake Brew Wine ) Grin

Welcome back jellyfish, more fab decluttering there.

DD has improved tremendously on the antibiotics! So pleased and relieved. zoo it feels icy outside here too, could be a good night to snuggle with a film here. Catch you all later after the mania of tea-time.

Dinners on
(Lambs mince, rice, kale and sweet potato.ice lollies)

foxessocks · 02/02/2018 19:09

Ooh zoo I'm shivering at the though of ice lollies!

I didn't do the front door or the bathroom but I did make cookies and do a bit of ironing.

I always end up giving up on a Friday! Feel a bit frazzled. Having said that the kids have been (on the whole) very good this evening and ds is already asleep. Dh just reading dd stories. Got a manic busy day tomorrow so good sleep is essential!
I've got to go from soft play to a fairly nice lunch out without having time to go home in between...No idea what to wear to cover both!!

Anyway. Need to get some birthday gifts wrapped and then I'll be scoffing chocolates!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 02/02/2018 19:45

Hello all, not caught up on thread but will do tomorrow. Have the beginnings of a sore throat so am hoping to nip it in the bud with a night resting in the naughty corner.

Glad your DD is feeling better Cotswold. Your cafe idea sounds excellent zoo.

Bowerbird5 · 02/02/2018 22:25

Ta Das
Went to work.
Coped.
Went home.

My best friend text me this afternoon and invited me for yummy tea and medicinal gin!😄 she is a nurse so knows what she is talking about. Damn meant to ask her to check pulse.
It was very irratic the other night.

Tops up supplies in naughty corner. Lemon and ginger cordial, Lockets, paracetamol, eye pads, wet wipes,. Gin! Whisky! Honey.
Cags sorry to hear you and toostressy not so well.

CotswoldStrife · 02/02/2018 22:30

Take it easy all poorly fledglings, I can't believe the difference the antibiotics have made to DD in a short space of time! They did say a couple of days, I think she has plans to keep her weekend club appointments now - we'll see. She has, at least, eaten and drunk a fair amount today for the first time since last Saturday.

It's never too cold for ice cream and/or lollies here zoo, DD is always ready for one!

I have done the washing up tonight Halo which is about the only effort I've consistently made this week. Does make a difference though. Just need to spread it a bit further round the house!

I hope chocolate is being scoffed now foxes, bower I'm going to tell you the same thing I keep telling my DD, if you've been ill for a while you're not going to feel completely better in a day - take it easy (you too stressy if you feel you are going down with something).

I'll post the links next, have a good weekend everyone.

Finally allowing myself to post as I’ve completed my one aim for the day (daily focus)

[sidles in with an armful of ferrero rocher]

ta da
✅got out the house early for rhyme time
✅set the Caglets a task while I was there (they wait in children’s library) and OMG they AMAZED me ⭐️ working independently is something they have really struggled with, but now they have agreed that whenever I go to rhyme time I will set them a task to do while they wait. Super proud. And also having another little panic that I need to push them a bit more now!
✅helped a relative
✅made it to ballet in such good time we went to the shop for milk beforehand (and aforementioned chocolate)
✅put all clothes away
✅daily focus - I don’t have a car or handbag so my version is to clear out the buggy (basket and handlebar tidy thing) and change bag. I think the reason I’ve struggled with this is that I get annoyed with myself for needing a set time IYSWIM, I keep thinking I shouldn’t need to do it as I should obviously clear it as I go... maybe I just need to accept that I clearly don’t. So half an hour on a Friday it is.

I will see the GP if it carries on BTW. I think the last few days have been PMT so I’ll keep an eye. Still need to have blood tests anyway and will be making an appt then regardless (unless everything comes back clear but I’m expecting some deficiencies). Promise I will if I need it. 💐

Bower 💐 if you keep needing to check your heart rate you can get a little widget for it (the pinchy thing you put on your finger... oximeter?) really cheap on amazon. I have one since I have POTS and thus tachycardia and I are intimately acquainted 🤔

Cagliostro · 03/02/2018 00:43

Bah. I’m a muppet. Only just put baby to bed. Knackered. Loads to do tomorrow (today). Sigh.

Bowerbird5 · 03/02/2018 01:40

Oooh ! Thank you Cags

That's great they are working independently. Sounds like they are enjoying the challenge.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 03/02/2018 05:43

Morning all!

Sorry to see so many feeling under the weather. I am much better now and it is great! Hopefully you will all be feeling brighter soon Flowers

I dont think dp expected praise or stickers for putting his washing in the basket. Which is good because thats not going to happen.

Ive just logged on to british gas and changed my tarrif as direct debit now due to go through the roof at end of month Sad does anyone know if my new tarrif should have kicked in by then? It is best part of 4 weeks. Will have to watch the pennies i think.

cag you have reminded me to clean out under my pram. Our basket is huge and so a mobile dumping ground!

Yesterday i decluttered two cupboards and a large drawer in the kitchen Grin threw almost a full bin bag of crap out! Yay

Stilllivinginazoo · 03/02/2018 07:24

Nice one afresh
Cag that's awesome.well done caglets with independent workStar
I slept terribly and had get up give lil zoo next dose meds, having not got bed til late so she could have meds then couldn't get comfy to sleep.harumph.i am going to be a joy to be around today!!

Tadas
Medicated lil zoo
Cat/kits fed
Wash on

foxessocks · 03/02/2018 07:37

Up early here (by our standards anyway - about half 6) as dh has a shower before he went to work and woke the kids up. Cbeebies went straight on so I could have a coffee!

To do
Write two birthday cards
Daily routine
Swish and swipe downstairs toilet
Get cash out

Need to get some breakfast sorted really but nobody is moaning yet so I'm being a bit lazy.

I did indeed scoff some chocolate last night but the horror...I thought I had a second layer of chocs and there wasn't one! Shock I actually accused dh of hiding them which he thought was hilarious when it dawned on me I really had eaten them all Blush

Bowerbird5 · 03/02/2018 07:54

Great work afresh💓 sticker!

Goodness zoo you've got cracking early though wash on💓

I'm still in bed!
Went to bed by 9 had an afternoon nap as well. It is very dark here. I changed bedding and curtains a week ago and these curtains are much better for the winter. Going to get others dry cleaned and make linings for them.
Feeling ok this morning so hope to do a bit of house Bleugh
Hope other people are feeling a bit better.

Plan for today_

Clean kitchen including fridge, food cupboard, baking cupboard. Make cake for choir.
Vacuum downstairs( hasn't been done since Monday😳)
Bathroom
Shop for meal tonight- might get M&S pop and ping Chinese as it is nearly Chinese New Year! Friend coming over because she is worried about me 😊 but she won't mind if I let M&S do the work. Or we'll go to the pub.

Tomorrow church and choir. Still haven't heard Ofsted result.😠

Stilllivinginazoo · 03/02/2018 07:55

🦊 ims convinced someone pinches my chocolates, surely I can't eat that many in one goGrin

Stilllivinginazoo · 03/02/2018 07:56

Oooh.thats a pretty mistake!!a real fox!!

Bowerbird5 · 03/02/2018 08:28

Mmm well I munched my way through a small box this week. I opened them pre Ofsted night as stressed as I was whole class teaching next day. Since I hadn't been in I was tackling a new topic. It went really well but no show from Ofsted still I console myself with the fact they would have been impressed.

Honestly I didn't eat yours. I wouldn't take without asking I'm not that sort of gal! Perhaps it was mice.

GoingGoingGoth · 03/02/2018 09:05

Quick post as I'm out the door in 10 minutes for my crochet class

DD had a friend over last night, so I got settled doing my blanket last night & forgot to pot yesterday's Ta-Dahs. Bit late now, but I felt quite productive .

This Morning's Ta-Dahs

Fed cat
Made "proper" coffee
Swish & swipe
Washing load on
Washing up
Made bed.
Dehumidifier in DD's room.
Ran round like a lunatic getting stuff for the class.

Hope you all have a good morning, see you later

foxessocks · 03/02/2018 09:41

Why have I sat down when I have 20 minutes before we leave to do something useful? Pointy stick needed over here!

zoo I can't see the Fox on my phone Sad

CotswoldStrife · 03/02/2018 11:28

Morning all - another sleep in for me here, DD is missing her usual Saturday morning activity due to still being a bit poorly, but SO much better than she was.

I have cooked breakfast (we have bacon at the weekends, yum) and I'm still sitting in my pyjamas Blush Will have a long pamper session in the bathroom including my hair, then clean up a bit. Honest.

I was up late last night and almost commented on your posts Cag but then thought it would be a bit cheeky to tell you to get to bed when I was clearly doing the same Grin. I'll make it my aim in February to get to bed before midnight - join me Cag, we can keep each other on track! Well done to the Caglets on their impressive work - I'm pushing DD to be a little more independent at the moment on some things so I know what a hard line it is to tread.

Bower good to hear you got some sleep, that's an impressive list but the fact that you are making cake jumped out at me . OFSTED may have looked at your lesson plan if they didn't come in to the classroom.

fresh glad you are feeling better, it does give me some hope to see that you can come out the other side (last weekend DD was tearfully asking me if she would ever feel the same again, pre-teen drama is well and truly here for us)

zoo I start mainlining sugar later in the day when I haven't slept enough Love the fox!

foxes Oh the horror of the bottom of the cardboard box instead of a plastic tray of loveliness! You may be out but a gentle weekend stick --> I have threatened to ban all technology 5 minutes before we leave and after we come in. I am totally over shouting at a screen to get DD's attention.

Goth I now want a coffee, will make a pot after posting. You can always post ta-da lists, day after is fine for me - I find them inspiring. Enjoy the crochet class, I love crochet. Still haven't made anything big but I will do.

OK, so better do something that I can post myself later to keep up with the rest of you! Have a good afternoon fledglings, catch you later before the grim Saturday TV starts in the evening
