Hello all - welcome to our February thread for 2018. Everyone is welcome and it's never too late to join in. We are decluttering our homes and keeping them clean and tidy(ish) as well as having some general chat as well.

We follow the Flylady method, and will post links daily to the missions via the Flylady website. For more information, have a look at www.flylady.net/

Here's to a fun February for all of us (with the occasional prod from the pointy stick of motivation and visits to the naughty corner Cake Brew Wine ) Grin

strip wall paper and make a huge mess!

foxessocks · 24/02/2018 20:17

too much birthday excitement - dd is still NOT asleep and has had major strop over which pyjamas to wear.

Pass the Wine!

foxessocks · 24/02/2018 20:18

Going to read thread now to calm my nerves!

foxessocks · 24/02/2018 20:26

afresh sorry your dp not helping. You deserve a break (and a medal!)

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 24/02/2018 21:18

.

I am shattered and DH has gone to bed (totally deservedly, he has not stopped all day).

Both DDs asleep so am going to put lip balm on, finish tidying up downstairs (15 mins I hope) then collapse. Just need to dig out some bits for tomorrow first.

Has been a busy day and I have had enough!

Feeble wing flaps to all.

Bowerbird5 · 24/02/2018 21:28

Me I would like one. Suggested to DH but no luck. Have decided to go to bed. I am really tired.

Ta Das

Afreshcuppateaplease · 24/02/2018 22:04

Has zoo been on today? Hope her ds ok

Cagliostro · 24/02/2018 23:02

Yes I was wondering too.

ta da
✅laundry x2 just finished drying (TD is huge so takes two washloads at once) to answer your question fitz no I didn’t put our clothes away, the Caglets did theirs and I put the baby clothes in the box too but mine and DH’s got shoved in the basket. Didn’t hang the towels up either. 🙄😳 So will have more to add tomorrow when I get the drying out.
✅got to bed early, although that wasn’t through being sensible on my part, DH has to leave early tomorrow. And clearly I’m not asleep yet! Tired but wired.

Dreading tomorrow TBH, he’s got a half marathon and then as work messed up his leave request he’s then doing a 7hr shift after. I am so not up for the long day. He doesn’t do running events that often, it’s just shit timing. DD’s been invited on a bike ride although not sure if her bike is ok. Quite tempted to take them to the cinema or something, I end up really down if we stay in all day. But I have so so much to do. And no motivation. Ate so much crap today too. Ugh.

I need a plan to actually look after myself properly. 🤔

CotswoldStrife · 24/02/2018 23:38

Evening fledglings. Despite my own poor showing on the thread, we are approaching the max number of posts so may need to start a new thread for the last couple of days. Just a warning! I'll keep an eye on the numbers and if it looks like we are approaching a thousand, I'll start another thread.

Forgot to say welcome to Longtime earlier, good work on the decluttering. Zoo, hope things are OK with your and your DS too.

Waves to Bower, fresh (so many bugs around at the moment), foxes Wine, SC, Fool, Hills, Cag (go to the cinema, you'll catch up another time - it's important to look after yourself because without you, everyone is in trouble!).

Will post the links next. Sleep well

Well i managed not to kill dp
Even when at one point the bed was actually moving with his snooring

Ds3 up at 5. Yawn.

cag sounds like a stressful day, take it easy and anything that can wait can wait!

I need to sort out world book day costumes. Yuck

Stilllivinginazoo · 25/02/2018 07:06

world book Day costumes fuck fuck fucking fuck as always the organised one herepointedly

DS is chesty still, pale but eating.i need try getting him moving today (he has sloth genetics,I swear he can lay like a corpse most of the day and still sleep at night)see how he's really doing and if inhalers are helping-dd1 asthmatic and informs me sometimes steroid tablets are needed to ease tightness.he is the king of milking it so we shall have to see how he is once in motion so to speak!!
Dd2 has(as expected) been "challenging" given D's getting attention and decisions need making over GCSE options
I've lost will to live in the fallout but today's another day n all that,so hoiked up big girl pants and away I go....

Stilllivinginazoo · 25/02/2018 07:08

Afreshcuppateaplease · 25/02/2018 07:10

Ta Da

Na da

Bowerbird5 · 25/02/2018 07:36

How are you feeling
afresh? You should have made DP get up with DS3, easier said than done I imagine!
I've had a good sleep last night( very few) woke at 2:30 but managed to get back to sleep after half an hour and have just woken. Usually awake about 5:30-6 am. I have a headache though.😞

World Book Day - yes, I'm wondering what I can conjure up this year.
cags hard to do but some time out for you is vital. I have Sunday afternoons. I used to go to Mass make Sunday Lunch then the afternoon was mine unless boys were playing football but even then I used to sometimes sneak a magazine into the car and just watch a bit of the match. DD was my excuse cos she needed feeding. I propped up the mag while BF her. Otherwise I had two hours every Sunday. Sometimes we went out walking or playing rounders with friends and picnic tea up a fell. At home a film or reading. Now I have choir every week. DH knows not to ask now. If he wants to do something together (rare) he has to ask a week in advance. It was my GP who said I needed time for me. It does make a difference.

Plan
Dust bedroom, make bed.
Mass
Planning and notes from last week.
Choir
DH is making meal, I hope. I might need to prep before I go out.
More planning, craft items for different groups. This new timetable is adding to my planning but no extra given. At least it is enjoyable.

Waves to afresh, cags, SC,foxes, hills,Toostressy,Cotswold, fool, zoo and flaps to anyone I have left out. Sorry.

Zoo hope you and children are ok? Not like you to not be here.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 25/02/2018 07:43

My ears are still sore. Im just taking paracetamol because im too lazy to follow other advice....

Just been in the bedroom and i reckon 90% of dps work clothes are dirty on the floor on his side of the bed. So if he doesnt pull his finger out he may have fun getting dressed in the morning.

Ta da

Dryer on
Dry washing sorted
Small 2 dc fed

Bowerbird5 · 25/02/2018 07:48

If anything BookDay more important in Yr 5/6 they like to out do each other but at least a lot of them make their own with a bit of help. They cotton on to the fact that we give prizes to the homemade costumes.
One year three yr6 Girls came as the Twits wives they were hilarious. Headscarves, baskets the lot. So funny. Very brave too.
Aunt Sally was very good one year. Stig Of the Dump. Conjurer. Worzle Fox. Trying to think of the more unusual ones .
Cross posts zoo glad things semi ok. He may not be milking it. My asthma has never been as bad I had three lots of steroids. Try getting to walk upstairs and see what he is like at the top. I was really wheezy and couldn't get a sentence out fully. Only have about 13/14 steps.

foxessocks · 25/02/2018 08:00

My dd nursery is doing work book WEEK so really she is meant to have a costume tomorrow I think I'm a bit shady on the details Confused anyway I haven't finished sorting it so I'm just aiming for Thursday!

Morning all! Am hoping the dc have recovered from yesterday and not quite so bad tempered!

Stilllivinginazoo · 25/02/2018 08:53

Tadas
Cat/kits fed
Internet banking
Washing on
Located living room floor
Just going make breakfast-huge a banana loaf yesterday(bready not cakey) so going toast that with butter

Cagliostro · 25/02/2018 08:57

Thankfully my two have agreed to Sara Crewe and Charlie Bucket so no work required really. But I still have to properly sort out the party activities! And absolutely must get everything packed on Wednesday.

Feeling rather rough and didn’t get much sleep because my sinuses are evil Hmm plus Cagletini had another epic coughing fit so while she most likely won’t have another one until bedtime I don’t think cinema is worth the risk really. Might pop into town though. I’ve got loads of club card vouchers that I could use for cinema instead so will do that for another weekend when DH is out.

DH has had no run events since October but has one today, another half marathon and a weekend thing (marathon split over 3 mornings in local towns) in May, oh and in April he’s doing the 24hr run again at the local sport centre. Nutter. ‘Tis the season though really, he’s not booking anything else for a while especially as we don’t know when a house will come up. He does make up for the lost housework when he’s home too. :o He’s also doing a firewalk next week, but we are going to watch him do that.

We have no fabric conditioner so I’m going to wash the towels on hot and ignore any other laundry. Still have loads to put away anyway.

If I feel up to it I may start packing the boxes I bought the other day. Need to plan shopping too as I rushed it last week and consequently have run out of loads.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 25/02/2018 09:00

foxes nursery are likely doing over a week so all children get a go regardless of days attended

Afreshcuppateaplease · 25/02/2018 09:04

And if ds1&2 dont make their minds up they will be going to wbd as theirselves....

FoolandFitz · 25/02/2018 09:48

DS is going as Harry Potter - he got the outfit for Christmas so it seems a shame not to use it. I loathe WBD with a passion. Most children turn up as a superhero or a princess - actually they turn as a superhero or a princess on any dress up day. I always go as the Cat in the Hat - it's my thing and I look adorable Grin never mind the kids, eh

To do
Hang dry white wash
Put another load on
Check meal plan - first one ever: yay me - and do shopping list
Walk to shops for a top up, although fridge and freezer is empty so not really a top up.
Shower
Get stuff ready for school
Put out hot spot ie blazing counter top in kitchen
Set up standing order to new savings account - I'm trying the pay myself first thing

Cagliostro · 25/02/2018 10:20

Decided to crack on with sorting the baby clothes into the new storage tubs. As you can see, it’s going brilliantly. Hmm :o
