Hello all - welcome to our February thread for 2018. Everyone is welcome and it's never too late to join in. We are decluttering our homes and keeping them clean and tidy(ish) as well as having some general chat as well.

We follow the Flylady method, and will post links daily to the missions via the Flylady website. For more information, have a look at www.flylady.net/

Here's to a fun February for all of us (with the occasional prod from the pointy stick of motivation and visits to the naughty corner Cake Brew Wine ) Grin

Hope everyone enjoys their Friday evening. hillshope all sorted and back home now.

Cagliostro · 23/02/2018 20:28

ta da continued
✅ballet with garment bag and I remembered to label it - DD reminded me we have a silver sharpie which solved the problem of how to write on black fabric! Also remembered to get cash out to pay for costume. However I got the time wrong... due to rehearsals for upcoming show the times have changed and I’d forgotten to read the email properly 😳 thankfully the new time is later so we were early rather than late!
✅went to Tesco during the lesson (since it is also now an hour rather than 45m) to get a few bits, and also to change the baby as there is no baby change at the ballet hall and I hate changing her on the floor (backache)
✅cooked a really nice dinner, as well as a boring fussy-child-friendly one. Mackerel and veg rice stir fry. I do feel better having had something decent although I will promptly ruin it tonight with cake.

Bowerbird5 · 23/02/2018 23:17

Oh Cags what's wrong with the one you had. I liked that baby she was cute!

Cagliostro · 23/02/2018 23:40

I’m late to the February party! I have been decluttering though so I’m pleased to see that is this month’s habit.

Still trying to sort out my dbil’s finances (or lack thereof) out which is a right pain but I’m quite pleased with my progress with sorting out stuff. Dh wouldn’t agree I don’t expect as I haven’t touched the attic where his office is!

Tada for today

Wrote 3 emails for dbil plus one to dpil to explain the situation
Dishwasher load done and away
Washing load done (and ooops still in the machine)
Dh’s Passport collected from the Chinese visa application place
Post office for dbil
3 hour dutch class
2 students
Maths prep
Leasing papers sorted for new car
Insurance papers sorted for new car
Doctor appointment made for dh (who was in the UK for two days despite the daft he was really too ill to go)

None of those in the right order!

Longtime · 24/02/2018 01:12

Those were in addition to the decluttering

Longtime · 24/02/2018 01:13

daft = fact 😂😂 though to be fair he was pretty daft to go when he was so ill

Bowerbird5 · 24/02/2018 02:46

That's what you get working with Aspies - take it literally.

Well I just managed the work and the fish and chips. So, so tired this week. We ate early and after two mugs of tea I fell asleep in front of TV. Have loads of work to do this weekend. Need to catch up and extra teaching next week.
No flying much today as I am going to sewing class. I think this is a workshop and I haven't got stuff prepared so a mad rush around at 9 am. I know it is photo and drawing materials so that's ok but not sure about fabric. I think I was going to use felt but I haven't made any. I might have some colours. It was very relaxing last time I went. Then singing for half an hour at a hotel with choir. Home about 5pm so might do a little flying then. Haven't touched bedroom but it isn't too bad just clothes need put away and a quick dust.

Hope the party goes well foxes. I had 26 little ones yesterday! Whew! They were excited enough with a party.

Hope those that were ill have improved.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 24/02/2018 06:52

Well ive woken with a cold, inc sore throat and ears!

Still havent finished my bedroom Blush

Bowerbird5 · 24/02/2018 07:06

What sort of ears?

Afreshcuppateaplease · 24/02/2018 07:09

Sore ones Sad i do always have ears Sad

Bowerbird5 · 24/02/2018 07:29

Sorry I couldn't resist!

I've woken up in a silly mood. I think it is hysteria from actually completing a week at school this term.

I am sorry you are not feeling well. Try a warm (not hot ) hot water bottle and rest you head on for a little while. It should help the ears.

Bowerbird5 · 24/02/2018 07:30

,hot whisky toddy will help the cold but might be a bit early in the day for that. A big one tonight😃

Afreshcuppateaplease · 24/02/2018 09:10

Good morning fledglings!

Well my dastardly plan has worked rather too well... we were all reunited last night ... and dh and dd are at serious loggerheads. (He's usually "fun Daddy" as he is away travelling so much, and so I am cast as wicked witch of the North (ie the one with rules and boundaries) so this is an interesting and unusual development.) Having left dd and dh to their own devices for a couple of days ... dh is incandescent about various basic stuff such as plates and cups being left to mould in bedroom/office, shoes and clothes being draped around everyone, general adolescent backchat, unhelpfulness and self-centredness ... ... he regaled me with a long list when we went to bed. I sympathised and nodded my head and bit m lip and didn't mention anything about how I have been pleading with him for over five years to back me up over this very stuff and if he couldn't do that at least not undermine me. Oh the irony ... the blissful irony .... Grin Grin Grin.

Not a lot happening on the Flying front but dd has just finished an early x-country lesson whilst I went to farm to buy lovely fat root veg. (Soup making tonight!) Taking dd off for waffles and hot chocolate to warm up now! Then out this afternoon to tend to look at more drainage possibilties, more tree issues, more lambs, and visit a building reclamation site.

Sorry you are feeling rough Afresh [hands over hot lemon and honey drink]

Glad you made it through the week Bower! (Never too early for a quick nip here btw! That's what hip flasks are for!! Grin ) Tis freezing!

Hope you all have a lovely day today Foxes!

Well done for keeping going Cag!

Star for helping your bil again Longtime and for decluttering

And as ever, ta for links Cotswold!

Waves to Hills, Cordelia, Goth, FoolandFitz, Honu, whoknows Toostressy Whispers and everyone else - I am sure I have forgotten many!

Steamcloud · 24/02/2018 11:05

And waves to Zoo of course too! (Sorry, cold must be getting to my brain.)

Afreshcuppateaplease · 24/02/2018 11:16

Well done sc! Sounds like leaving them to it has had desired effect!

Feeling okay now. Sun and paracetamol motivating me.

Steamcloud · 24/02/2018 11:20

Glad you are feeling a bit better now Afresh. Agree, despite the cold, the bright sun is really cheering Smile

FoolandFitz · 24/02/2018 13:16

SC has DH cottoned on to the irony yet?
fresh add tumeric to that lemon and honey drink. If you can stomach it, tumeric in hot milk is very soothing and therapeutic before bed time, great for any lurgy. Generations of Asian parents swear by it.
bower well done in completing a week at work - half term is nearly over and I still feel so tired.

Minimal flying going on here. Yesterday, I tackled 2very difficult phone calls to try resolve an issue and those 2 people said they would phone back but did they heck. Angry It means I have to chase them up again.

CotswoldStrife · 24/02/2018 15:02

Good afternoon fledglings, I had a big sleep in this morning which was nice. Did make the latter part of the morning a little more of a rush that I'd have liked but we made everything in time anyway.

I now want to try the turmeric! I'll put that on my shopping list. How much do you put in the drink Fool?

Very sunny day here today, but crisp and cold. Just getting ready for the cold snap due towards the middle of the week.

SC things are very different at the sharp end, as your DH has found out! I'd have to remind him today that this things are not news to him as you've been saying the same for a while.

Catch you later!
