Fledglings fly into December to party hard.

Morning.

Tomorrow is December 1st which means roll call for the fledglings and shiny new thread. It might seem a bit clicky but it is because it is a long term thread, park your arse in the naughty corner for moral support, natter and various delicious goodies. Oh and smidge of housework too.

We follow the flylady system HOWEVER we adapt it to suit the circumstances of our lifes and sometimes we ignore the slightly more fluffy/bonkers babysteps --because we can and there ain't no one the boss of us

Yeah! I got all my to do list completed yesterday except make bed. Left it to air until I went to get dressed in smart clothes for church( bishop coming) and ran out of time because as I was putting cake mixture into tins I thought hmm seems a bit thick. Went through recipe and I had forgotten sunflower oil so had to scrap back into bowl from paper cases. Messy! So bed very well aired but not made. Had quite a nice day all in all. DH made my tea but was expecting me earlier because he doesn't listen! 2 1/2 hrs earlier! Tea consisted of lovely sweet potato, some bean casserole (pop& ping) which he had heated up and left some for me. Bit dried up. Rice dried up to a crisp and lovely med veg. So half yummy and rest eaten because 8:30 pm and hadn't eaten since 12 bar a biscuit at choir.
Sorry to hear about all the sickness and extra washing. Hope all on the mend now.
Loved the story about unidentified object / furry 😁 reminds me of some boys I used to have. Petrified black bananas are another to look out for.
Flying seems manageable today not home Bleugh though.
So my plan.
Get up, air then make bed.
Organise school stuff including baking for some.
Get ready for work then if time vacuum, swish & swipe bathroom.
Kitchen cupboards wipe as many as I can. Won't make much difference as I need new kitchen. Been looking.
Post Christmas cards abroad. Last day I thinkoops! I did it again.

My thoughts exactly zoo. Just wondering if I can doze for 45 mins or get up now and get everything done. Eyelids are saying doze.

Report
Sludgecolours · 04/12/2017 06:19

Urgh - think it is Zoo - unfortunately.

Had the crappiest of w/es involving dh ( flu), pre-exam stress (DD), and being called back to town by office cleaners because of office flood (emanating from office above) involving cancellation of lunch and Christmas concert and letting people down; three hour mop job and waiting around for caretakers.

Now getting ready for builders again here (sigh)

Apart from that, all fine Grin

Hope everyone who is ill, or whose DC are I'll, are feeling better today.

Xpost - waves to Bowerbird5 - that baking disaster sounds like the sort of thing I do on a regular basis!

Did I mention that I left the house in a tip on Fri (something I hate doing) - and so it was a total tip when we returned although somehow I expected it not to be Confused. Where is the ruddy house fairy when you need it?.)

And although dh is ill, it didn't stop him totally trashing the kitchen when I was out mopping yesterday Confused Why oh why default position for males = dirty toppling piles of crockery and congealing frying pan next to empty dw?

Also had to do emergency uniform wash last night, keep radiators on to dry it all Blush (when we are supposed to be saving money) - get up in middle of night to turn it over to ensure properly dry - then get up again at 5.50 am to iron it! Not my finest organisational moment! Blush

Anyway, just waved a serene dd off 20 mins or so ago in to the dark, wet and windy morning, carrying a knapsack of at least 7.5 kgs in weight and a shed load of sandwiches and fruit and cake to see her through the day [sigh]

Poor girl revised for 7 hrs yesterday (inc 2 hrs tuiton) (which I'm afraid is normal here for a 14 yr old teen during exam season when is it not exam season ...) and she read and helped with offertory at Mass after early morning horse ride and helped groom and clean tack afterwards... that following 3.5 hrs study on Saturday + 2 hrs badminton. And yet she looked as fresh as a daisy this morning; I on the other hand look like a crumped harridan with bat nest hair Grin

Have a good day everyone!

Morning fledglings!

Yesterday was quite productive by my standards. Loads of washing all put away, and put away a couple of months' worth of DVDs Blush. I ached like hell though. Think the lovely relaxin hormone has truly worn off now. Sigh. Luckily Cagletini slept much better last night so it's not so bad today. Not sure what will be achieved though.

Are the links working for other people?

Report
HillsBesideTheSea · 04/12/2017 14:14

let me know if not. I have to do some book reorganisation (get the heavy ones off floor onto wall) but it has basically meant emptying, disassembling and reassembling. I am in the last stage atm - aka the room is trashed wtaf was i thinking?! I will fix later if needed.

Don't worry Hills, you have enough on your plate. I am in such a fog of clawing our way out of the sickness induced hole, that I didn't even think to look at the links until just now.

Your book reorganisation gave me a rueful laugh. We moved into this house in 2013. In our old flat, my books were in perfect alphabetical order, so they had been packed in approximately the right order. I just stuffed them onto the shelves thinking, "That'll do."

They are still in that sort of order over four years later. Oops.

Report
Cagliostro · 04/12/2017 15:09

Well some order is better than none!

We have wrapped some presents, the towels are in the dryer and I've put away more clothes that Cagletini has outgrown. Also did some English workbook with the Caglets and have set up their maths for tomorrow.

I'm really frustrated though. Everything just seems to take so bloody LONG. Super frustrated. Not that I mind the baby cuddles obviously.

ta da
send ds to school despite him claiming to be ill I predict a trend until the holidays and they are late this year
start the shopping list
sort out what to get for the last few people for shopping
consider braving the shops - decide to take advantage of late opening hours (ie the shop is open til 8 so will go after tea)
open advent calendar and create a thing
take apart the stand for drying ds' kit and put into storage
Speak to garage and get car booked in for fitting a part tomo
at having to rearrange all the things now that will be without a car tomo
look at the half a farmyard on the car and consider washing it
Laugh at my own stupidity to even consider the to do list has time to add things to it
get the washing machine running
get the dryer running
iron a picture so that I can frame it asap and get it out of the way on the way
ring opticians re broken glasses Hmm
destroy half my room in the name of reorganising the books so we don't end up falling through the floor due to a collection that probably needs to be culled
Chuck ds into car in name of getting glasses fixed.

Unfortunately this is a part list. BBL with t'other half

Cleaned ensuite and main bathroom.

DD wrote Christmas cards for her whole class. I didn't do any yet, but might do some this evening.

Feel like I got a lot done, and still did quite a bit with the children. Just got a gorgeous big sloppy toddler kiss from DS and the muppet Christmas Carol soundtrack is playing. All I need is a Brew.

It's my birthday tomorrow. Day off from flying I think. DD should be back at school, so I'll see what fun DS and I can have.
