Fledglings fly into December to party hard.

Morning.

Tomorrow is December 1st which means roll call for the fledglings and shiny new thread. It might seem a bit clicky but it is because it is a long term thread, park your arse in the naughty corner for moral support, natter and various delicious goodies. Oh and smidge of housework too.

We follow the flylady system HOWEVER we adapt it to suit the circumstances of our lifes and sometimes we ignore the slightly more fluffy/bonkers babysteps --because we can and there ain't no one the boss of us

Morning all. Sorry about the sickness and rough nights :(

Didn't feel I had much worth posting about yesterday. Spent all day indoors other than ballet. Ordered a few presents. Had a takeaway. Used the sling again and asked friend for some help with it at some point (she's an expert babywearer!). Got stressed out as I forgot I had no bus money. Changed a gazillion poopy nappies. Etc.

Slightly better night again here thankfully although Cagletini still up with what I think is tummy ache :( I forgot how hard it is when they can't tell you!

I'm annoyed as Cagletini is finally big enough to fit in the first outfit I bought her, but the house is a mess and I can't find the matching hat Blush

Oh cag your place sounds like mine...
I really should clear up but my motivation appears to have run away with my energy....

I was tired. Thinking the sinus issues of yesterday might have been more than just allergies could only just woken up again. So clearly needed it and will probably will appreciate it when ds is back and being a pita about bed.

Thinking the plan of action is going to be:
put pile of random crap from floor into box
ask nicely for shelf to be put up
put box of important paperwork that appears to have been dumped into the bathroom into my office/craft room
deal with contexts of box
put box of 'new' stationery away *
Laundry
take my bed apart to hoover mess from shelf and to rescue dropped stuf
wash bedding
remake bed
And that is a sensible amount so I am going to stop there. No no I am not - advent calendar - open and make the thing with the mini. How did I forget that? Shock

*when I say new i mean i have pulled used pages out of note books so they can be repurposed

Emergency cleaning happened and the house looks fab. It’s a shame I’ve now got a fair few BRCs hidden but got plans to tackle one at a time in front of the TV.

Have drunk own body weight in coffee to feel human so might push through and get some work done. Or sit and crochet instead...

I have had a large shot of damson gin. Wish I could send a glass to you Afresh.

DH workplace shuts at 6. He can't be trusted to leave on time. It is a long way away down the dark and rainy motorway.

I have done shit loads of washing. I had to. So far DS is sickness free. So far....

Callme, that is shot Flowers.

Well, to add to the misery, DDs have been monsters at times, they have had an early shower and I am trying to decide whether to let them watch Strictly or not. They have been really good at points but it is just interspersed with badness. I really wish I had been naughtier as a child. I was almost always really good (probably break more rules now than I ever did when I was younger!) so find it so hard to understand the mentality of not behaving Sad.

Xmas Smile after having a problem with the car on the way home from work I thought we weren't meant to go to the Country Living Fair. However we swapped cars with lovely son 1 and had a great time. Had to stop myself buying things I liked and get Christmas presents. I bought DD three gifts and a little one for her stocking. A new angel to go hhmmmm some because she was sweet and the stall holder was a very nice lady. She had bark with Santa and elves inside and boxes with Santa, elves and reindeer and they had got wet so all there tops were hung on a line. She told little stories they would be so enchanting for little ones.
I have a little gift for the children at school and some miniature gin for staff. One bottle for myself and best friend to make a hot punch for medicinal purposes...like colds. A bag of dried spiced fruits to make...things! A few other bits and pieces. It was amazing to see some of the things people are making. Fairies and gin were popular.
I can recommend it and there is a park and ride too. Only flying was made the bed.

Hi Lisette,
Yes it does move quickly and amongst the flying tips are commisurations and celebrations. I read this thread for about a month or so and joined because they were such a lovely bunch of people unlike my previous experience of Mumsnet which made me leave before.

So my plans for today( not much because it is Sunday)
Get up soon.
Make bed, after airing.
Make cake for church for lunchtime.😳 didn't get it done yesterday.
Go to local church and lunch.
Go to choir 1
Go to Latin Mass
Stay for choir 2 as long as I can.
Make simple tea.
Bed early to get on the Merry Go Around for next week.

DH did leave work on time, took over as soon as he came in. So I feel a bit bad about moaning about him yesterday. After Friday night of almost no sleep, DD and I slept like the dead.

Still need to do huge amounts of washing but we're about 22 hours since the last sickness incident, DS still hasn't succumbed and is eating his breakfast.

DH has left for work, so I really hope we're through the worst of it.

To do
Cross everything and hope DS isn't sick.
Batch cook chicken chasseur.
Turn ingredients that were going to be sausage rolls for the party today into a big sausage plait.
Make cake I was going to make for party and eat it myself.
Washing. Washing. Washing.
Disinfect camping mattress that I set up in bathroom.

Just checking in, sorry to hear about poorly DCs and Fledglings, lost nights out, pukey bedding etc, this thread is a good place to offload all frustrstions.

We seem to be in the middle of an onslaught of Christmas plays (4 attended in last 10 days all have been brilliant), school Christmas Fairs (2 in last 8 days) and carol concerts (4 to attend this week), I thought all this stopped once DCs at secondary school but it seems not. Also had overnight guests this weekend, now gone, plus Christmas shopping and off to Christmas market later today.

On the Flying front, guests necessitated home bleugh on Friday, laundry is stacking up but my windows are sparkly due to Black Friday purchase of Karcher window vac Xmas Grin

HillsBesideTheSea · 03/12/2017 11:42

whoknows how have you managed that? Shock ds has no christmas play, there is no christmas fair at school that I have heard about, he doesn't do carol concerts, so we only have 1 Christmas fair because we will go to the city one when the village on is on for very boring political reasons.

Got a good chunk of yesterday's list done but not all of it so need to deal with that before cross country driving.Oh and boring things like uniform washing.

Both DCs schools have put on musicals and Christmas fairs, plus each has two nights of carol concerts this week, then DD is in a non-school drama group who have had two shows last week too. My DCs weren't in either of the school shows but DD loves a musical so I took her to both. Both are taking part in the carol concerts .

I am very jealous of the Karcher too.

Toostressy at least you have some notice! DD said five minutes before we left for school on Friday that her costume had to be taken in that day. Fortunately she's an angel, and was last year. The costume still fits so I frantically dug it out and stuffed it in a bag. If I had needed to sew, especially stretch material, I'd have been sunk!

I love hearing about all the Christmassy things people are doing. It makes me feel very festive.

I have made the chicken chasseur, and switched to sausage rolls for us to pick at this evening rather than even attempting a main meal. Neither DC are eating much.

Camping mat disinfected, bathroom deep cleaned, about a million loads of washing done, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I have relocated living room floor despite stupid cold making me feel rough .popped to shops
And chased a kitten around with a long hair hanging out of its bum with two poo attatched to it.she an anxious lil thing and promptly skidded(literallyHmm)along top sofa before chasing sister under dining table over the dining table chairs and dropping the deeds at bottom of stairs before galloping off in disgrace
Thankfully sofa is leather and chairs are leather look so just need quick wipe n disinfect.tiles at bottom of stairs so nothing major but still...
Organise ice skating trip for tomorrow...
Dd1 coming with OH they taking dd2 in their car.ds isnt eating still so as his old best friend (that left as mum died)decline to come(think rebuild his life bless him n we are a sad part of his life)he refuse ask new secondary school friends and is opt to watch others skate..lil zoo beside herself excited a new school friends allowed travel up with us.its at an emporium that sells fruit n veg.local meats etc and also a garden centre with lots xmas decorations and xmas gift ideas to look at.the rink is bigger than ever this xmas(only there end nov til beg jan)and as our nearest rink is in milton keynes(near hour away when emporiums maybe 25 mins?)this is easier and more fun/xmassy
I find busy places make me very anxious and tbh i have balance of a one legged duck on ice so will be just watching but i know im running out of time to enjoy them before they are not intrested in doing things with us there...

Dd2 secondary arent doing any concerts etc.ds secondary has carol service in church near school but clashes with lil zoos in school playground that was advertised first so i agreed to thinking secondary wont do anything...lil zoo has xmas jumper day 15th and school fayre coming up soon.may see if i can brave that(trys calm palpitations at the idea)
3loads wash done
Shut doors on bedroom mess try trickle downstairs

Nasty incident in hall.i can only confess myBlushas you guys wont hoik judgy pants up...been odd smell in hall last week or so.only i could smell it(strong sense of smell) i could smell it today thru my cold so got dd1 go thru shoe crate thinking stray sandwich crust may been lob out bag in there.nope.girls bags checked.clear.ds bag.oh.my.god.green n black powder that stank to the high billy goats that apparently were bread and sugar snap peas in a previous life were retrieved from bottom spilling froma plastic bag.....
I went batshit bonkers.not my finest hour of parenting but EVERY friday i say empty bags out.check no rubbish/recycling.we are estimating thats been growing in there a minimum of 4weeksSad

Grin so ds is a normal boy then zoo ? Grin

ds has more than 2 lots of homework for tomo so it is going to be an early start so it can get done before school. it is the down side of his being away at the weekends, makes it so much harder to keep him on top of the homework especially with the events of the weekend. I hate mornings, not fond of people in the mornings and really thought I had left homework behind years ago. So tomo's ta da list will start with
*find a severe case of the grumps...

Anyhows need to find a bed and will then pop back and try for some linkies
