Fledglings fly into December to party hard.

Morning.

Tomorrow is December 1st which means roll call for the fledglings and shiny new thread. It might seem a bit clicky but it is because it is a long term thread, park your arse in the naughty corner for moral support, natter and various delicious goodies. Oh and smidge of housework too.

We follow the flylady system HOWEVER we adapt it to suit the circumstances of our lifes and sometimes we ignore the slightly more fluffy/bonkers babysteps --because we can and there ain't no one the boss of us

Am just going to eat some food and then get everything sorted for cross country driving for ds tonight. Will be back later with links.

Manage get him eat a slice toast and sip if water.hes a nightmare when has very bad colds.stops eating a an inch fat on him so body grinds to a weak halt😞hes exhausted and dizzy and just wants lay quiet(wrings hands out of his line of vision whilst try appear noncholant)

[mug] for those who are suffering.

Sinus pain is the pits Hills Sad Hope you can drive ok with it; safe travelling.

Same here Zoo dh has contracted the cold/fluey thing that dd and I had earlier this week. He slept all morning but dragged himself off to work this afternoon. I hope your ds feels much better soon.

Hope you enjoy the Christmas fairs tonight Afreshturkey and Toostressy!

Brew for Cordelia Arf at Christmas spreadsheet Grin!

Thanks for explanation Bowerbird5 I am going to suggest we do a reverse Advent calendar in our parish too - if not this year - then next. Hope the dreaded "O" people do not appear! Have fun in Harrogate!

Shannara like the wrapping idea too!

Cheery wing flaps to everyone else!

Builders have been banging and crashing and seemingly had a competition with one another to see who can open the front door and let as much cold air in as possible?

In the meantime I have been furtling around doing a load of things that (typically!) weren't on my urgent list ie made a vanilla and chocolate swirl cake for colleague's birthday, knocked up a date and walnut loaf for w/e, wrapped up yet more parcels, walked the furry X 2 (going out for 3rd walk later), triaged a bit of laundry, tidied up kitchen, did some banking, post office run, s & s, searched fruitlessly for address book for 30 mins Confused, dropped some glasses and serving dishes off to friend and had a natter, did quick supermarket shop, and (literally) threw some clothes in to some bags.

As a result of which: house is even more of a pit than it was this morning... Blush

Escaping now for a bit though! Hope everyone has an excellent weekend!

Thanks for all the reassurance re Playmobil! I love the calendars too, I'm pleased we will still be able to have them next year.

Like lots of you I have got nothing done. Except fun things like fabric shopping and John Lewis. I need to get on, but the sofa is comfy and the children are actually playing nicely and I don't want to mooooove....

Ta da:-
Dad’s birthday card done (badly Sad) and posted
Stash and dash
Some letters given into school
Went to Xmas fair - mixed results there. DDs’ behaviour initially terrible but then did improve. Some days I wonder if it will ever get easier.
Both DDs have eaten and had shower
Shattered now so having 10 mins while they watch a programme then will hope to get them to bed.

sc, I paid around €3500 for ds1's orthodontic treatment and got around €900 back. Pretty much the same for dd. They were both around 14 at the time. I don't know what you do if you can't afford it.
People go on about the wonderful Belgian health service. It is great but you have to pay! Our equivalent of NI contributions are higher than the UK but that doesn't stop us having to pay mutuelle costs, high prescription costs and part of all of our medical costs. Rant over!

Thank you for your best wishes for my Dutch class. I think you say: "veel succes bij of met je/uw Nederlandse les".

Tada

Mount Rushmore is finally no more! I went mad with what I decided to wash but have finally got to the bottom of it.
Loaded, put on and unloaded dishwasher
Folded washing
Some of the October books
Dutch class survived!
General tidying

Cleaning lady came today so house is clean!

Dh is going to China on Monday until Christmas so we are going out for the day tomorrow. I've even got our dogsitter to come round so we don't have to worry about the dog! There will be no flying!

Toostressy even with slightly older ones parenting exactly same.thats not really helpful but lets you know we a here plug away at same old stuff.xx
callme comfy sofas do call when kids play nice and in my opinion would be rude to ignore themGrin
sc pray tell what is non urgent about choc swirl and date and walnut cakes?i am outraged these are sidelined activities.you seriously need rethink your prioritys!!WinkGrini too shall be asking at church about reverse advent.might be bit late for this year but deffo think be brilliant for next.think we shall try n sort a food bank drop before xmas.we arent in any position on wealth but i remember be nominated by HV as a single mum with dd1 for a little something from salvation army.i clearly remember that shoe box with holly wrapping paper on it.inside-coffee.mince pies.choc animal biscuits.a packet of jelly.some shortbread.that xmas i had very little and it ment a lot to me.dd1 was almost a year old and oblivious to the couple toys under the tree(id had a minor miracle when shopped as our local safeway gave me a toy that wouldnt scan and made me cry at realisation she could have another toy ) and dinner was exciting in her xmas paper made hat and( wow upon wow )a choc biscuit.its made me very aware its not always huge things that can make lives seem betterSmileand i feel its good karma to feed back and teach zoolets same(they try n take a little something like aldi cereal or some beans etc each to food bank box at church once a month or so(or when we can afford it))
I think i am blathering nowBlush

Anyhoo
Tempted ds eat a buttered bagel and a frube(along with a slice buttered toast his entire food for today.not good from a weight gaining perspective)
One load laundry

Must do better tomorrow😞

Happy December everybody. Been really busy here so haven't posted for ages.

I did however meet my target of having all rooms cleared and organised ready for finding everything a forever home now. So starting tomorrow is decluttering one box a day. Hopefully all be done by end of the month.

Tomorrow's plan is:
Fun day out with DH and kids
One box
Sorting out diary
Finishing clothes

DD has been vomiting since 9pm last night. I wasn't in. DH managed to let her be sick in both her bed and the spare bed, and put dirty stuff on our bed. She still can't keep water down for long. Dreading DS waking up, as far as I can tell he hasn't got it.

DH is refusing to stay home from work. He's just left. A very rare night out, with overnight babysitting (that happens about once every three years) will have to be cancelled. I have no bedding for the babysitters/my parents, and in any case my dad won't set foot in a house where people are being sick. I will have to ring the launderette at 9 to beg for a collection of the duvets, pillows and a service wash. Good job I got the cash out for the night out yesterday, so I can pay them.

Sad

Report
Callmecordelia · 02/12/2017 07:05

The rareness of the night out was more that we were both going, not that I never leave the house - obviously as I was out last night. Socialising as a couple hardly ever happens. I booked my parents for this in September, we were supposed to be going dancing and having cocktails.... Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrgh.

I've also just realised we won't be able to do the carols and mince pie afternoon at my friend's house tomorrow either, because she won't be 48 hours clear.

Sorry for spamming the thread. I'm really disappointed.

House is a fucking pig stye and no more nurofen so ill have to go out. Cba talking to dp as im really annoyed at lack of help.

Flowers and Brew to everyone suffering with tiredness, illness etc. My day yesterday was s washout after starting with sinusitis at lunchtime. Made it to the end of the day at school but came home and did nothing at all except sit on the sofa with painkillers and a hot water bottle.

My friend is still coming, my house is still a mess. Going to emergency clean the Guinea pigs and quick tidy. She’s lovely and will be polite enough not to mention the state of the house.
