Fledglings fly into December to party hard.

Morning.

Tomorrow is December 1st which means roll call for the fledglings and shiny new thread. It might seem a bit clicky but it is because it is a long term thread, park your arse in the naughty corner for moral support, natter and various delicious goodies. Oh and smidge of housework too.

We follow the flylady system HOWEVER we adapt it to suit the circumstances of our lifes and sometimes we ignore the slightly more fluffy/bonkers babysteps --because we can and there ain't no one the boss of us

SC I am soo glad that you volunteered the newbies for zoo's crazy child/baby plan.

As for the to do list. I am only doing a few things to make it feel a nicer start (eg laundry, bedroom bathroom) for the new year. I always pretty much get straight back into the swing of things early on in the new year because I need the structure otherwise I get twitchy and anxious.

Cag the only new years resolution i have made that i have ever stuck to is to not make resolutions at new year. Have you come across the word of the year resolution? It is a word that you want to describe your year (eg brave, declutter or some such) and then you try to incorporate this as the bigger picture so far more flexible than a resolution because it looks at the year overall and allows for slipping without it being a issue. That said it still wouldn't work because I would get anxious over picking the right word iyswim but it is an intersting concept.

Cag Flowers ahhh, I remember it well, hovering over the Moses basket in the night to check DD was breathingFlowers. Still, you can't spoil or give too much attention to anyone who's under one can you? Smile

Glad the chore list not too onerous Hills! Very much like the concept but hate to think what my one word would be?!! (Probably something unrepeatable) Grin

No, to be more positive, I think (to borrow the oft spoken words of dd's teachers) "resilience" might be good!

Argh just lost a post

Yep I'm hoping that we can get a much easier view of stuff like colouring things as they are all together. Also stuff like sorting HE supplies as we have such a random mishmash. I need to focus on using up the single use science kit type things as we have amassed loads and they take up space. This will double as a sort of ready made curriculum for a bit which also takes away some need for brainwork on my part while easing the Caglets back into learning mode.

Unfortunately we don't really have any control over when we move (or even where really although we can just not bid on anywhere we don't want to live). It depends how quickly housing appears in the town and whether any higher need families join the list. But going by how the numbers have changed we reckon within six months. Scary but exciting and thankfully as we have done so much already I do feel it's achievable. I'm going to write a list of all the tasks that need doing but will try not to get too obsessive and pedantic over it and just actually DO some of said list as I go!

Should we add some contraceptives to the haughty corner for unsuspecting newbies 😂

SC agreed.we eye up all newbies for child bearing hips/baby bumps....

Lil zoo has developed horribly dry tangly hair so as I was searching for a stray can of tuna for lunch I located a tub coconut oil babe Oct 2017.i melted some n comb thru damp hair(bear in mind it's thick and waist length)lots crying(both of us) the wrap in film n leave 2 hours.just wash it out n condition.so far it seems much better but j feel for now a weekly maintenance may be in order((unless anyone has better way of stopping the haystack forming overnight))

Ah ha, it's not called the naughty corner for nothing then!! Wink

Cat that all sounds really exciting and definitely achievable! Tbh, if your bedroom is the only room where clutter runs unfettered as it were, you are doing a lot better than me. (And I have craft materials in different places on three floors!). You can do it! And think how great it will be in your new place!

Zoo shouldn't be one to advise as I have resorted to cutting particularly resistant knots out of DC's long hair before now Blush, and coconut treatment sounds excellent, but there was talk of Lush shampoo bars being good for helping reactive scalps and de-tangling on one of those "switching back to soap from shower gel threads" yesterday. (Sorry can't link with this device.)

Hills I love that idea! I think mine would actually have to be ‘relax’ - not in a sit down with feet up type way, as I actually get plenty of that especially with a slow feeding baby. I don’t mean relaxing my standards either (they are rock bottom as it is). It’s more about accepting my struggles (particularly mental health) which actually helps me be more productive and in turn more positive. The black and white thinking is such a huge burden for me, and I’m sure it’s the main factor in why I procrastinate so much. I’m really awful for not starting something because I don’t know how or when I can finish it, but I am finally learning the Flylady way of any progress at all being an achievement, and over the last few months I have managed a lot more because of that.

There are undeniably a huge amount of things that have to happen in the next few months, but relaxing about that is probably going to make them much more attainable for me.

Fancy afresh must invest in some.she seems to have a very sensitive scalp too even massaging in shampoo when wash hair very gently is uncomfortable for her yet she's a trooper with grazed knees etc...

Courtesy of the missing remote(and a two hour device ban as I fed up of being ignored by all)dd2 has read a third of a book today.result!!must "help" the remote hide again very soon😂

Washed all lower floors as dd2 empty tumble dryer drawer outside on fifth ask and trailed mud all thru(sigh)

Tea tonight
Lil zoo n ds meatballs.greenbeans and pasta
Dd2 bean carrot and parsnip soup(damn sore throat)

Is she reacting to silicon in shampoo? It made my scalp very very sore and has improved significantly with a silicon free shampoo.

Everytime I think awww babies I open the door to the boy dungeon... It is enough of a cure.

Just waiting for the last load to finish in the washer
Bread in bread machine for posh sandwiches buffet to celebrate new year. People have friends but I am very much excused from being social.

room is half done, bathroom is half done. decluttering, de-christmassing and next phase of building work plan of action discussed. It was a calm conversation mostly but urgent to ensure good health to all in the house hold (potential issue with water supply )

Just plodding on with room for now and plotting which top I am going to split and pre draft for spinning later Grin

Just caught up on thread. No, I will absolutely, definitely, not be volunteering to have a baby next year Grin.

Re. hair, can’t suggest anything much more than a tangle teaser (I suspect you will always struggle with such long hair - would she cut it?) but also recommend Lush. I had really bad skin when I was pregnant and someone recommended Lush. They were amazing. If you go in when it is quiet (or even when it is busy tbh) they will really take the time to speak to you and recommend some ideas and even get you to come back and try something else if it doesn’t work. Also worth looking into the silicone thing.
