Order, Order! Do you have a little house of horrors? Welcome to the October Flylady thread where we follow the Flylady method for keeping our houses in order (along with some general chat and support). The monthly focus for October is paper clutter

I'll be posting links to the daily missions, daily focus and the zone cleaning - don't worry about the detailed zone cleaning if you haven't already decluttered, Flylady recommends decluttering first. Join us at any point this month Glitterball

I'll post the first October links tonight!

Fuuuuuck so there's a big wet patch under the bath. Not entirely sure why, doesn't seem to be a leaky pipe. But has somewhat messed up my restful afternoon Hmm

ta da
✅tried not to panic (and actually for the most part succeeded!)
✅phoned DH to ask WTF do I do 😳😳
✅hairdried ceiling a bit
✅drew round wet patch to see if it gets bigger (not so far)
✅took bath panel off (YUCK) and stuffed kitchen roll into the bits I could reach - limited due to bump being in the way!
✅shut door on bathroom with heater on

Also ordered DLA forms and I think now I will go and email the EHCP people in an attempt to stop myself panicking

Great list Hills! Lovely grub!

Well done to your dd on climbing high Cag and hope you can get the bath sorted without too much expense/hassle!

Sorry you were thwarted by nap time today Foxes but you have done loads nonetheless!

How did shredding go Longtime?

How are you doing Zoo?

Gluten free batter sounds v pucker Ginger (don't think it has made it over here yet!)

Yay to tip run and clear garden corner Betsy!

Waves to Cotswold, Honu, Toostressy, Goldenclaire and everyone else I've missed (sorry can't scroll).

Day didn't exactly go as planned because I had 'work' work to do but managed:
laundry x 4
empty dw
general big tidy up ahead of cleaner tomorrow
cleared hall of last bag and box
made chick pea curry thing (it was ok but not great) and cauli and pot aloo sag dish
made apple pie (have apple overload)
made minestrone soup

No paper decluttering achieved

To do:
clean up kitchen after supper
rubbish and recycling

GingerIvy · 05/10/2017 20:43

Cag Well done to your dd on her climbing! And the DLA and EHCP stuff is stressful, but well worth it once it's done.

Three loads of laundry done today, plus some furniture moving and rearranging. Now I'm sitting charging rechargeable batteries and relaxing a bit.

Cagliostro · 05/10/2017 21:05

Thankfully the leak is nothing bad/expensive! DH got back and sorted the bits I can't reach so I think we are ok.

Had to comfort DD tonight as she saw the girl who bullied her. But she has still gone to bed calmly which is testament to the value of melatonin! Need to put her prescription request in tomorrow (and mine as they only give 12.5 days at once Hmm).

Sandycarrots · 05/10/2017 22:08

Good news on both counts Cag!

Well done re furniture re-arranging Ginger!

Longtime · 05/10/2017 22:24

Started sorting out my computer corner and moving everything to the desk in the living room (as I hope we one day will renovate the kitchen/extension where my computer is currently!) and made a start on the books for the 3rd quarter. Put lots of paper used on one side in the recycling as I had far more than I was ever going to use and started the shredding.

Kitchen is tidy but that’s not difficult now there’s only me. Dh was supposed to be returning this evening but his flight from Zurich has been cancelled!

Am now doing my Dutch homework which I should have done earlier in the week as it’s almost 11.25.

HillsBesideTheSea · 05/10/2017 22:47

also ta da
souffle
2 batches of pizza rolls
3 loads of washing
2nd coat of varnish
Set alarm to do 3rd coat at 1am - going to be a broken nights sleep but it's the only way as I need to get 2 more coats of varnish done with time to completely dry and be assembled before 9am tomo morning....
Deal with a poorly ds.

Roseandbee · 05/10/2017 22:47

Can I join? I'm on a pre baby declutter and sort the house out mission, due mid Jan.

I have the flylady book, keep meaning to re read it, I bought it like a decade ago Blush

After a very slow start that involved dozing on the couch most the day.
Managed to wash and hang laundry.
Declutter and resorganise utility cupboard, during which I found 4 bottles of flash concentrate🙈 I'm set for a good few years, Sigh.
Finished cutting out my sewing project for the new arrival.
Got DH to put bins out n get all the piling up recycle stuff out for collection

CotswoldStrife · 05/10/2017 23:06

Welcome Rose, good to have you with us. Congrats on the pregnancy, hope you are feeling OK.

Today I did laundry, made phone calls, dropped off a form, paid another bill as soon as I opened the envelope - you know the kind of thing where I'd you'd normally put the letter down and write it on a to-do list - I just thought 'do it now' and actually did. Surprised myself, there.

A brief wave and restocking of the naughty corner for tomorrow, will post the links now and look forward to the end of the week!

CotswoldStrife · 06/10/2017 11:40

Good morning, waves to Hills, SC, Cag, Stressy, fresh and goldenclaire who are already posting and busy. zoo hope you are doing OK today.

I have been shopping, was out longer than expected and didn't eat breakfast before I went so have feasted on a free (loyalty) coffee from the golden arches, a slightly-out-of-date croissant spread with slightly-out-of-date cream cheese. Envy my luxe lifestyle, fledglings

Not to worry, 'cos it is Fri-yay! Friday has taken it's sweet time getting here this week for me and I'm very glad to see it.

Suppose I'd better get on with something productive for a bit. Jab me with the stick!
