Order, Order! Do you have a little house of horrors? Welcome to the October Flylady thread where we follow the Flylady method for keeping our houses in order (along with some general chat and support). The monthly focus for October is paper clutter

I'll be posting links to the daily missions, daily focus and the zone cleaning - don't worry about the detailed zone cleaning if you haven't already decluttered, Flylady recommends decluttering first. Join us at any point this month Glitterball

I'll post the first October links tonight!

ta da
✅steroid injection #2 (much less painful!)
✅asked some questions at the hospital (also it turns out the not sleeping is a common side effect of the steroids!)
✅gathered a few more bits for hospital
✅bath, hair wash, shave legs in preparation for tomorrow
✅wash hand knitted baby clothes (need to hang out in a mo)
✅set alarm to ring hospital at 7.30 tomorrow to find out when we go in!

Just popping by to comment on washbags (back to old name as it was easier to do seasonal NC). We keep ours filled in a two plastic baskets on the top shelf of my wardrobe (shelf is above hanging rail, it's a very tall wardrobe). We use them fairly often (every school holiday at least) and it's easier to just keep them packed, also we leave electric toothbrushes at home and just carry normal ones do they live permanently in the bags anyway. The DCs only have shower gel, toothbrush and paste, deodorant and in DD's case hairbrush and bands. Mine has all sorts so I clear it out every now and then.

Also excited about the pending arrival of BabyCag Smile.

FlyingJellyfishInTheAttic · 21/10/2017 22:26

I'm going to start properly on Monday as working long day tomorrow but feeling really motivated by everyone else's achievements. Sorted out a few bits today so am ready to properly start Monday.

Sandycarrots · 21/10/2017 22:36

Thanks Whoknows that's a v good idea for wash-bag storage. I need to do major, major declutter of boudoir and home office (where we have "overflow" chest of drawers) and sort it all out properly once and for all!

[Sets out tray of cheese, crackers, grapes and Wine for Cotswold for later. ]

Cag sending strength, courage and lots of love and prayers to you and yours tomorrow! Xxx May the full force of the fledglings be with you Grin

Toostressy as I always have to complicate matters, I have a bad habit of taking multiple miniatures with me on holiday which rather defeats the object Confused.

Sandycarrots · 21/10/2017 22:44

Oh... Flying ... absolutely nowt save for two loads of washing Blush.

DD and I spent most of the day watching Sherlock re-runs ... .

CotswoldStrife · 21/10/2017 23:03

So excited for the arrival of baby cag - hope all goes well!

Thank you all for your congratulations on getting through my presentation. I have a much bigger one in November!

Only a few tadas today:

Food shopping at 8:30 this morning
Just loaded the dishwasher now
(Dh cooked)

And of course the main one, we collected dd from Calais 😍. Due to storms at sea the boat was both delayed and took a half an hour longer than expected plus it’s a long round trip from Brussels to Calais and back. Dd only realised last week she would be able to come and the Eurostar from Ashford (she is in Canterbury) was €€€€€ hence the coach/boat/car combination. Anyway it is lovely to have her home and to have had someone to watch Strictly with!

Sc we definitely need to find time to help one another out. Or sod it and go out for coffee! We love Sherlock here too and went to the Sherlock convention in London a couple of years ago. I bought dd a gold ticket so she could go to all the talks/get lots of autographs/have priority for photos. She has some great ones! She actually cried after her photo with Benedict Cumberbatch! Martin Freeman never does them so she was delighted he walked past her in London a couple of weekends ago!

To do tomorrow

Go to the tip (discovered yesterday that it’s now open on a Sunday - nothing much opens on a Sunday here so I’m surprised)
Keep coming on here for baby cag updates

Stilllivinginazoo · 22/10/2017 02:58

Good luck cag

Cagliostro · 22/10/2017 07:39

Thanks all! They have space now so off we go ASAP!

Sandycarrots · 22/10/2017 07:51

Good luck Cag!!! Bear BearBearBearBear

Um, and if you get the chance, I think Cotswold would perhaps like a photo Grin

Seriously though, wishing you well. Sending positive vibes from across the Channel!

Stilllivinginazoo · 22/10/2017 07:53

Eeeeekcag
Good luck!!xxxx

Cagliostro · 22/10/2017 08:33

Thank you! In a taxi as the thought of a 90min bus journey was too much 😂

And yes there will be a photo as soon as I can :o I'm taking a separate (i.e. non-outing) one just for the two MN threads ❤️

Longtime · 22/10/2017 08:34

Good luck cag!

Sandycarrots · 22/10/2017 09:06

Sorry Longtime didn't read down thread earlier! Good luck with tip run today! And yes, we should definitely get together for some mutual decluttering (if you promise not to be too shocked by crimbled state of this house!) and/or meet for a coffee and chinwag!! Shall we pm after half-term? School starts back on the 6th I think!

Btw, no wonder your DD was ecstatic re: gold ticket at Sherlock convention - mine would have been catatonic!

Cheery wing flaps to Zoo and to everyone else!

Sandycarrots · 22/10/2017 09:07

Taxi sounds good Cag! Fingers and toes crossed for you!

Cagliostro · 22/10/2017 10:41

Thank you all Thanks safely settled in now and thanks to a friend with insider knowledge I am now on wifi :o have had monitoring just waiting for doctors before starting anything.

foxessocks · 22/10/2017 13:11

Good luck cag how exciting!!

I've just been to a jumble sale charity type thing. I was really pleased with myself that I managed to take along a huge bag of stuff that I had decluttered this week. However my mistake was taking dd with me who wanted a huge Bob the builder work bench and of course I let her have it and now it is slap bang in the middle of my living room ConfusedAngry

I don't think I'll ever get the hang of this decluttering!

Stilllivinginazoo · 22/10/2017 13:14

foxes you are sooo like me.declutter and zoolets rebuildGrin

Cagliostro · 22/10/2017 18:04

Nothing happening yet! Just thought I'd update :o

Stilllivinginazoo · 22/10/2017 18:14

Thinking of you lovely.xx

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 22/10/2017 21:49

Also thinking of you here Cag Smile.

Ta da:-
Quite a nice day here. DH working most of the day but was able to be here for bits of it and most importantly for girls’ bedtime which is so much easier with two of us.
Had a nice play date - felt embarrassed (newish friend) by the toy mess and the fact that toys all disorganised then decided that I don’t actually know that many people with perfectly organised toys anyway.
Went to park
Bedtime routine done so am going to try to do a bit more tidying then collapse. Should attempt some decluttering but did do 5 mins in the study earlier (for zone 3).

To do:-
Collapse

Night all. Half term here next week and i’m off work Smile. We have a couple of activities planned tomorrow so will not be a lazy morning!

CotswoldStrife · 22/10/2017 22:00

Thanks for the update Cag, have been thinking about you today!

I did know that Cag was planning a photo, because I pm'd her last week about something else. I wouldn't really badger quite that badly if I didn't know Cag was prepared to do it Halloween Smile

Will do the links in a bit, got the sneak peek for next week so time to update the files.

CotswoldStrife · 22/10/2017 22:00
