Order, Order! Do you have a little house of horrors? Welcome to the October Flylady thread where we follow the Flylady method for keeping our houses in order (along with some general chat and support). The monthly focus for October is paper clutter

I'll be posting links to the daily missions, daily focus and the zone cleaning - don't worry about the detailed zone cleaning if you haven't already decluttered, Flylady recommends decluttering first. Join us at any point this month

Cor. DH actually wrote a to do list. That never happens!!! He normally just dives in. He must be worrying about his sister coming tomorrow :o

I can't sleep which is really not good when the bed could arrive from 7.30am. Reeeeeally should have resisted the cup of Pepsi Max with dinner...

I woke thinking it felt like morning.was 230.grrrrr.started feel tired again 5ish but pointless nod off again 30 mins so played with Pinterest
foxes i LOVE sweet potato chips(esp with fish in breadcrumbs.hope yotohad ketchup too😋)

Right need stop fannying around and feed kits(who can hear me typing this andare squealing furiously and scratch at door...you would think they are staaaaarving way they going on but as i left full bowl kibble down i know different!!)

Finally got half a day at home and as home bleugh didn't get done last Fri as usual, that is my priority today, oh as well as tidying entire house, sorting wretched boudoir (hideous pit atm) and a zillion loads of laundry... .

Oh I reeeeally want to :( but way too much to do today. Way way too much :(

Oh that's great Cag, especially not having to wait in all day for it! Go steady and don't lift any heavy mattreses though!

Zoo I am afraid I have just staged my own protest directed at dh (who has escaped my wrath by suggesting he walks the furry) but I will gladly join yours instead!

Since I last posted I have:
-cleaned up all rolled oats, sugar, salt sprayed over kitchen floor by dh
-cleaned porridge encrusted sink and taps [yuck]
-scoured burnt-on porridge saucepan (thanks again dh!)
-sorted paper recycling box where dh had stuffed and stuffed and stuffed it full until it was spilling out on to floor because someone else will sort it properly
-cleaned up coffee dregs dropped all over bin lid by dh

• washed up baking tray that dh had dropped porridge all over and hadn't noticed

-wiped up milk spills

• tidied up all of dh's cables, papers, shoes, jumpers, books scattered all over ground floor and hung up coats, put away cables in electronics drawer, carried shoes up and put away in bottom of wardrobe etc etc

-cleaned downstairs lav -dining room table hot spots -sorted ironing for fortnightly ironing lady

I was thoroughly pissed off that dh is travelling on Friday and all through this weekend and through most of next week but now I am thinking that I actually might make some serious headway in the house with him gone although thinking about it, dd has invited a load of friends to stay so maybe not ... .

I'm very aware that I sound like a horrible cow btw - dh works very hard and is always rushing - but I am just so sick of the mess now after years and years of very little change.

Right, laundry and boudoir next but first off to pick the wet towels off dd's floor [Can you hear my tiny violin playing the self pity tune? )

Actually Zoo have just taken a proper look at boudoir in full light of day and I scared of mine too [wibble]

Only thing worse than encrusted porrudge pans is scrambled egg...

No sc you don't sound like a horrible cow AT ALL. Your DH on the other hand :( it's one thing being knackered from work etc but expecting you to clear up absolutely everything after him is quite different and not acceptable

Bed built and sheet/duvet done all by DH. My contribution was to channel Ross Geller while he was hauling the mattress up the stairs and tell him to 'pivot' :o

Now just need to tidy up a lot bit more...

Ooooh Cag Sunday!!!! Wow!! Tbh, can't believe it is 37 wks already!! Deep breaths - it will all be fine - your bed is there now and all Cagletini will care about is being loved, fed and warm and nowt else related to household so try not to worry about Flying

I must say I do love a Fly baby ... there have been a few of them on this thread over the years ... sighs contentedly [ah]

And thanks for kind words of support re dh: everyone. It's so nice to be able to whinge to people who "get it" because, after all this time, dh is such a good bloke fundamentally that I think he would change if he did "get it" but he just doesn't... ifyswim ... ... anyway, feeling a lot more chipper now despite having (a) broken screen of tablet by sitting on it by mistake and (b) stupidly buying a second hand piano from a friend I trusted who said it was in good condition and um, it isn't ... just when we are trying to save money too

Never mind, onwards and upwards, and now I've had a coffee break, on to the next task ... .
