Fledglings flying high in July - the Flylady thread

Hello and welcome to July's Flylady thread! This is a lovely friendly thread where we follow (sort of) the Flylady system in the hope of having organised homes. Some of us are more successful at this than others ;).

Newcomers are very welcome, please don't be put off by any abbreviations or general gossip. Please join in the gossip.

Every day the thread leader (me this month) will post information about the next day. This will be the current zone we are in, the decluttering/ tidying mission and the habit for the day / month. Generally this is done the evening before.

All information is available on the Flylady website www.flylady.net. On the website there is information for beginners. You can also sign up to the Flylady emails -
we would advise caution as there are hundreds of them.

We post our achievements (ta das) and our to do lists and any other general chatter about life / flying.

There will be lots of information on this thread and you can also have a look around the (confusing at times) Flylady website:-

Information on getting started: www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

The launch pad is also a good starting place:www.flylady.net/c/lp.php

Fly stands for Finally Loving Yourself. The general idea is that short bursts of tidying / organisation are more achievable than marathon efforts. Flylady advises 15 minute bursts is effort but you can tweak this to fit your own circumstances.

It is not a miracle and sometimes the missions are very optimistic but I work on the principle that something is better than nothing :)

Thanks for a great June thread SC.

Happy flying everyone Smile.

Morning folks. Am a bit out of sorts after waking at 3 and having what can only be described as a panic attack before finally getting to sleep again around 6. WTF.

Xposts cag you gave my sympathies.I have panic attacks. Nasty horrible thingsSad

organixeveryday · 17/07/2017 09:52

Hi all, new to the thread. Feel very down about flat , had a very horrible childhood home, always dirty , hoarding, cluttered etc. Feeling repercussions of that now , as I have my own place and toddler and dp and baby on the way. Just don't know how to clean various things like the bath fgs. This is basic!
Anyway. Since getting up I have decluttered wardrobe , put a bunch of things up for sale on Facebook , organised all of dp's office outfits and paired my clothes into outfits (hangers turned so I can declutter further ), put a load on (about to hang out) , hoovered , cleaned toilet and sink.
Hooray!

Stilllivinginazoo · 17/07/2017 09:53

Have not gave...its going to ve one if those days people.watch out for classic zoo phone howlersGrin

Stilllivinginazoo · 17/07/2017 09:53

Morning all! Monsoon weather here again! Back in town for four days in which I have so much to do to get ready for proper holiday that I am in a rabbit in headlights situation. No excuses, all stupidly brought on myself by a bit of a CBA-slump week last week Blush. The worst aspect is not the packing etc, but leaving this house (and wreck2) plus mountains of clean bed linen for both - in good shape for rabbit sitter and others to come in and stay. It is a bit mortifying how little progress I have made since last year Blush Blush

A very warm welcome to Organix sounds like you made a great start there! Star Star and fwiw, there are lots of "how to" cleaning videos on You Tube for when you are stuck. Good luck with the decluttering!

Hope you are ok Cag pregnancy is inevitably a very worrying time! Take it steady!

Fantastic ta da lists Zoo!! Hope you have a lovely time with your daughter! And congratulations to her on getting her degree!

Toostressy thanks for links! DD went through a biting stage which came and went - so hopefully a "this too shall pass" sort of thing! Although with puppies they tell you to let out a high pitched squeak to let them know they have chomped down a bit hard (not sure if the same applies to dc!! Grin Grin) Couldn't find your typex thread, sorry, but I tend to use tiny white labels on calendar for over-writing, cut down to text size ifyswim.

I tried planning the summer holidays btw - but as dh always has to leave option every option possible for his work - it's been a train-wreck and I have given up. This is the cause of much friction every year so I don't know why I was expecting it to be any different tbh.

Good to see you Rosa good luck with bringing the house back in to line!

Glad your ds was in better form yesterday Einstein and sorry you had such a stressful weekend.

First task of day:

find, assemble, wrap and hide dd's birthday presents for next week before she gets home from badminton!

(She has already had her main present - a phone - so lots of little "bits" to find and sort.)

foxessocks · 17/07/2017 11:28

Hello ! Had a bit of a busy weekend with birthday celebrations so hopefully back into the swing of things today.

Ta da
Food shopping
Sorted out fridge
Emptied dishwasher
Made dd packed lunch

To do
Finish daily routine
Declutter in bedroom
Deep clean of kitchen sides
Ironing
Exercise dvd (really need to try and get round to this!!)

Cagliostro · 17/07/2017 12:06

Thanks folks Thanks

Achieved a little bit so far but slow going and still feeling panicky. It's mostly about how much there is to do (generally before baby, but also this week as DH is back to work on Sunday and I'm dreading it). Ironic as it makes me feel sort of paralysed and then I get less done.

Welcome organix huge sympathies on the legacy your childhood has left you, I had similar and it really dents you doesn't it? But if we all work together we can leave that behind I think. :)

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 17/07/2017 13:31

Welcome organix Smile. Another busy day here so will catch up on thread later.

Ta da:-

mermaidsandunicorns · 17/07/2017 18:33
