Fledglings flying high in July - the Flylady thread

Hello and welcome to July's Flylady thread! This is a lovely friendly thread where we follow (sort of) the Flylady system in the hope of having organised homes. Some of us are more successful at this than others ;).

Newcomers are very welcome, please don't be put off by any abbreviations or general gossip. Please join in the gossip.

Every day the thread leader (me this month) will post information about the next day. This will be the current zone we are in, the decluttering/ tidying mission and the habit for the day / month. Generally this is done the evening before.

All information is available on the Flylady website www.flylady.net. On the website there is information for beginners. You can also sign up to the Flylady emails -
we would advise caution as there are hundreds of them.

We post our achievements (ta das) and our to do lists and any other general chatter about life / flying.

Fly stands for Finally Loving Yourself. The general idea is that short bursts of tidying / organisation are more achievable than marathon efforts. Flylady advises 15 minute bursts is effort but you can tweak this to fit your own circumstances.

It is not a miracle and sometimes the missions are very optimistic but I work on the principle that something is better than nothing :)

Aargh - re-reading that back - not book!

I'd just like to say SC can I move in?I will help tidy(a bit) deffo do laundry. I want feeding that menu!
At chez zoo its been cereal,pack up and cheese on toast (with tomatoes,fruit etc)here today (lil zoo had tea at friends so cracked out the dairy!!)

Went pick up lil zoo.took best part an hour get her home(lives less 5min away) with taking of shoes,coat,bag,hiding door keys and pleasing all waylaying us.I'd left ds home alone (he is 11) he was not impressed we were gone so long....

He's had snack and now in bed reading lil zoo in bed

I need fix dd2 a snack so can take painkillers

Feels like been very long day despite not doing much

SC, yes, very quiet on here. Perhaps you are right about EOTM . Thank you for gift card search tips. Your post wasn't ranting at all, just realistic.

Haha please tell me it is Friday! Morning zoo up early here too, ds doesn't want to sleep at the moment. I'm tired and grumpy!

Had email offering a few days freelance work

Starting to get my dates mixed up so really need to spend an hour per week from September I think allocated to organising a calendar / work diary. This is one of the many reasons I wasn't particularly keen on freelance / supply work but it is the realistic option so I will need to carve out some time to be organised.

To do:-
Nip to shop to get food for tea
Pick up DD2
Sort out laundry
Sort out general mess in the house
Pick up DD1
DD1 swimming
DH doing home bleugh
Go through emails checking freelance dates I have agreed to - must do this tonight

I am not getting very far today. Another broken night with dd2...

Forgot one ta da - have sold some toys on Facebook. Not for much but they will be out of the house and will be a little bit of money for DD2 to spend in the hope of reinforcing decluttering .

Yep last weekend before the hols here too.

I should probably do stuff but I lack motivation. The last few nights I have been batch cooking for stocking the freezer whilst it is cool enough to want to have the oven on for a few hours. But it has totally thrown my sleep pattern out.

Not the last weekend here, another week and a half to go, can't go quickly enough now. DD will be leaving primary school, so we have all the leavers assembly, party etc to get through yet, this weekend is looking like being manic, the house, which was visitor-ready on Tuesday now looks like a tip again

Actually, that's the cause of half the mess, the cats brought a feebly flapping bird in yesterday, just as we were all getting ready for school/work, it escaped under the sofa, which then had to be moved to rescue bird, which meant other jobs didn't get done and we all ran late, sofa got left out so we could hoover behind it later, people just dumped stuff on it, all downhill from there really.

Lost a post earlier but am now back in London so have reliable 4G 😂

We seem to be suffering EOTM too despite not being at school, all the clubs the Caglets do really build up, social meets seem to increase and with the dance show as well it's been crazy. I am now a bit out of the loop but I think most clubs have finished now apart from one more climbing session next week. Gym/acro continues throughout must actually pay for that

Yes Cag, we have swimming lessons all through the summer still but I think it's good to have something that carries on. Just ready for school and dance to stop! I do love them dancing but it takes up so much time on a weekend.

foxes, at exercise DVD. Wh0Kn0ws, our cat likes to bring things in every so often. That sounds particularly stressful when trying to get ready. Einstein, for freezer stocking.

One thing setting off a downwards spiral it is possible to get out of the downwards spiral in the first place

Exciting times here! Today was the deadline for the town council by election and was uncontested so I won by default! Am now officially councillor mermaids

Mad day work sent me a text at 6am asking if I could start early just got home now

Oh it's not so much that we get out of the downward spiral it's more that we climb up it a bit before slipping back down.
