Welcome to the April Flylady thread. We will be posting links every day to the Flylady method of maintaining your home and all posters, lurkers, newbies and returners are welcome - there will be a lot bit of general chat too. Post your ta-da successes and inspire others (or join some of us in the naughty corner on a less-than-stellar day, we all have them!) and bask in the support of the fledglings as we swing into Spring and ease towards Easter (avoiding the dreaded pointy stick of motivation)!

Ah thank you so much lovelies.
Foxes so glad your SIL has her little boy now, how wonderful :)

She is being really lovely about it, said I have nothing to apologise for etc. I have no idea how she really feels but I won't push it because she must have been through this so many times already (lots of long term friends [I only met her 2015] who have had babies) and I guess she has her own way of dealing with it. I am glad I told her privately and sensitively though, she has said to me in the past that it is really hard for her so I think I did the right thing. I think.

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/04/2017 17:06

I think you have done the right thing cag.xx

Tadas
Fridge tidied out-wasnt expecting any science experiments. Found pot philly which I opened to check,it had been opened and was wear a fetching black fur coat (boak) and a yogurt had git caught down back. 3 weeks out of date!!
On a room I sift thru freezer and discover a pot ice cream under some mince and a fruit strudel.happy daysSmile

Spurred on by my finds I attack a kitchen cupboard...I've discovered I have a chickpea stash/hoard(not a problem as dd2 adores them, well all of us do )and 8ready to eat jellies,6mini pots fruit and packets of both rice pud rice and semolina and I was stressing over what puds to do til go shopping again next week
I do like finding a secret stash under all the day to day rubbleGrin

Cagliostro · 05/04/2017 17:50

Ohhh furry Philadelphia is never good! :o

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/04/2017 17:58

Definitely not!!(I didn't shave it either before put in bin!!Grin)

I indulged zoolets buying bunny shaped pasta.its organic and £1 fir 500g bag,so not Zn everyday thing but as easter approaching it was cute.cooks in 5 mins too ,so pasta with (frozen) peas, vegan pesto and cheese for Lil zoo(regular for ds) it was a very speedy tea!!
They've had lovely time playing playmobil mini petting zoo hospital whilst I was doing cupboards. Dd2 due back shortly, I've had couple texts she's had great time, and even get used dogs
All that's left to do us wash up lil ones tea things, turn wraps into tortilla chips to accompany dd2 salad and make quick salsa and j am done
(other than read some of ratburger and put littlies to bed)

Hope everyone's having a reasonable day. Be thinking if you taxi dd2 her disco cag hope she enjoys it! Dd2 loves that kind of thing, ds hates loud noise and it's not lil zoo cup of tea either so at least school disco invites don't mean trail up n down school repeatedly anymore!!

mermaidsandunicorns · 05/04/2017 19:29

Zoo where did you get the pasta from!!

Afreshstartplease · 05/04/2017 19:32

Also interested in the pasta!

Cagliostro · 05/04/2017 19:45

Awww bunny pasta! I got moose pasta in ikea once :o

DD enjoyed the roller disco and also had the news that she's being promoted to a Sixer :) happy little Brownie!

I still have to do dinner but it doesn't feel so insurmountable today, it was definitely worth getting the taxi. 2 weeks without brownies now anyway because of Easter so at least I don't have to think about it.

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/04/2017 19:54

well done cag and congrats caglet6erGrin

I git Bunny pasta at local health food store.I promised dd2 I'd get off phone so I will google it tomorrow for stockists

Right, time for TV and relaxing.have a good eve everyone!!

BluePheasant · 05/04/2017 22:14

Lovely day out in the sunshine today Smile

Blitz the house this evening and am top of washing/ironing ignoring Kettle pile and growing hotspots

Have an early appointment tomorrow and then aim to cross a few things off the to do list.
Sleep well everyone, will catch up with thread properly tomorrow Smile

CotswoldStrife · 05/04/2017 23:16

Evening all - mucho washing up done tonight in effort not to be too behind at the start of tomorrow.

mermaids coco pop tsunami - that must have taken some cleaning up, they are fiddly little things! Cag what a pain about your DH being called into work early, well done for getting the taxi and your DD to her roller disco! foxes hope the car is repaired in time for your break (I'm also in the SW), zoo I want bunny pasta now too - I've had Pudsey pasta from Lakeland in Oct/Nov and heart shaped pasta from Lidl in Feb but bunny pasta - gotta have it! Could try the nearby Whole Foods. Blue how is it possible to be on top of the ironing Envy and I have also ignored my fridge fresh.

Links next - get some sleep y'all!

The daily summary for Thursday (also available on the Flylady website at flight plan which should update automatically each day.

**

Baby-step no 6 - put out your hot spot (a hot spot is any place where clutter always builds up)

We are in Zone 2 this week: the kitchen

Spend 15 mins decluttering in Zone 2.

When you have finished decluttering, the detailed cleaning list (if you are at that stage) for Zone 2 is here

Mission for Thursday move anything that should not be on your kitchen worktop

The daily focus for Thursday is: errand day

The monthly habit for April is making your bed

daily reminders (radio show times are probably not accurate for UK but can listen to previous shows/podcasts)

put away anything that shouldn't be on your work surfaces -that could take millennia

The Bunny pasta is by suma
Goodness direct sell it at £1.48(online).if you have local health food shop could try there(sorry that's not terribly helpful)

I shall now continue washing attack and "the dreaded cupboard under stairs"
If I've not posted again by lunch send in search party as avalanche of random crap may have engulfed me!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 06/04/2017 06:09

BluePheasant · 06/04/2017 10:08

Morning all! Just about finished laughing at today's mission! Yeah, that's not gonna happen Grin

Was out the house by 7am this morning for appointment. Thought early start would get me going for rest of the day but have come one and flopped. Drinking tea and finishing my sewing project, have made some Easter ribbon bunting to prettify the kitchen with Smile nearly finished then am definitely going to get cracking! Mostly going to be a day of errand running I think.

Cotswold being caught up on ironing is very rare! Has been achieved by not having work this week and lowering my standards GrinWink am trying to change my laundry habits this month by doing a small load everyday rather than a whole weeks worth in a day or two, want to see if it make a big difference to keeping on top of it better.

Didn't do fridge mission yesterday so might have a quick nose in a min. zoo I don't think I've ever bought a tub of soft cheese that hasn't started to grow it's own ecosystem before we've finished it!

Afreshstartplease · 06/04/2017 10:09

Do you know what, I think somewhere in my fridge there is some philli

Cagliostro · 06/04/2017 10:18

We generally get through Philly quick enough for it not to grow fuzz. Especially if we have bagels because bagels with Philly are the bestest. Philly is one of my few food items where I am totally brand loyal - I have tried so many own brands but they can't compare! I have celery at the moment so might slather some on there (as we have no bagels)

Cagliostro · 06/04/2017 11:10

Oh I haven't even got out of bed yet!!! Blush I'm about to sort the laundry while still in bed though. DS fetched the latest lot (there's several loads to put away) from the dryer for me :o

Afreshstartplease · 06/04/2017 11:11

Yes cag! ✋

Cagliostro · 06/04/2017 11:28

I'm trying to figure out what else they can do in the house TBH. General tidying is just a no go as yet (for all of us - we are all crap at it so expecting the Caglets to be tidy is unfair). DD does keep saying she wants to do washing up. Perhaps I should respect her wishes and facilitate it :o

Laundry sorted so the Caglets can do theirs and I need to put ours away. Sooooo much else to do. CBA. Will just focus on the most important thing which is to get my blood test done, and to manage something for dinner

mermaidsandunicorns · 06/04/2017 11:31

cag

I always think that kids learn from their parents, good and bad so if caglets want to try you should let them.
