Welcome to the April Flylady thread. We will be posting links every day to the Flylady method of maintaining your home and all posters, lurkers, newbies and returners are welcome - there will be a lot bit of general chat too. Post your ta-da successes and inspire others (or join some of us in the naughty corner on a less-than-stellar day, we all have them!) and bask in the support of the fledglings as we swing into Spring and ease towards Easter (avoiding the dreaded pointy stick of motivation)!

Dd2 is a salt loving marmite fiend. I've heard you can make marmite popcorn(found Jamie Oliver recipe( its commonplace in my house to mix ketchup and Marmite And add to sauces etc fir sweet savoury vibe(don't judge!!)so I mixed equal amounts and add 1/4 popcorn then pop oven 5mins to crisp.to say the girls loved it understatement(dd2 licked out tin fir all sticky traces of the " sauce"Blush)ds don't eat popcorn.she beg me coat rest but I said no as our habits with food may well be weird by other peoples standards and salty is the way forward as it makes her drink more and she doesn't drink enough

I really lacking motivation today. Could easily slide back to bed!

Did you manage get thru midwife to book scan cag?

Afreshstartplease · 05/04/2017 10:37

Ty for the Brew

It's not half term here until next week

This week is the calm before the storm

Ticked another two things off my errand list. But also added one on! Oops.

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/04/2017 10:39

There's always something I miss afresh I am renowned forget take shop list shopping!!haha

I really need get of my bum and do someyhingy.I think today's mission might be the answer.fridge usne too bad in terms science projects, but could do with a tidy up!!

Cagliostro · 05/04/2017 10:42

I have had my call back from the GP and they're referring me. But no idea how long that will take as she said they may send a letter. Which means it'll be at least a week, when the MW said I need the scan ASAP... so just hoping they call instead. But basically no idea when it's gonna happen. Don't think the MW would be too happy as I could already be 12 weeks.

Afreshstartplease · 05/04/2017 10:51

Funny you should say that zoo I had my shopping delivered earlier and I have forgotten loads. Now can't decide if I should get another delivery or brave actual shops.

CotswoldStrife · 05/04/2017 11:43

Morning campers - skipped craft class to catch up on some stuff (adulting is a pain today!).

fresh you have reminded me that I didn't do the mission yesterday either Sad like that is unusual for me zoo 8 loads! We often take our own popcorn too, my DD likes it completely plain.

foxes so glad to hear you all got some sleep last night, it makes such a difference! Mercury, hope the vomiting was a one-off!

Cag meh about the uncertain appointment, do they do the nuchal fold scan in your NHS area as that has to be done by 13 weeks excuses or do you have an EPU at your local hospital that may be able to help if you contact them directly? How is your young relative doing in hospital?

Better get on, need to go out again really but trying to avoid it!

Hello chaps

Massive cleaning mission done today as when I came downstairs I was confronted by what can only be described as a coco pop tsunami. Ds2 had tried to make his own breakfast but in doing so had covered every surface with coco pops!!

Anyway hoovered, mopped (he helped) and steam cleaned bathroom. Ds1 is in a very stroppy mood today so sent him to the shop twice he's gone out to play now hopefully hel chill out now

Have a good day everyone

Cagliostro · 05/04/2017 12:39

Thanks cotswold the MW tried sending me to EPU yesterday but they told me I couldn't go as it's emergency only (fair enough) so I needed a referral to the regular ultrasound dept. Yes she was concerned that we may miss the window for the 12 week scan so really hoping they hurry up TBH.

Relative doing much better thank you, may even be home on the weekend. Heartbreaking though, DH said they can't talk or use one side, can't eat properly etc, poor thing :( but they are making great progress with physio so that's a big positive compared to how it could have been.

Dryer is on, living room looking vaguely presentable and Caglets did a little in their room too, they've just gone to meet a friend in the park with DH. I do ideally want to get out for a bit every day but TBH it's DH's last day off, so won't have another chance for a while. So I am curled up under a duvet.

Cagliostro · 05/04/2017 14:45

Oh ffs DH has been called into work a day early so he's got to drop the Caglets back home and dash straight off. So pissed off I feel less rested than ever after this week and I just wanted one day together :( and I had a reprieve from collecting DD from Brownies and now DH can't do it :(

Sorry rant over just feeling sorry for myself Blush

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/04/2017 14:47

cag as I type I am curled up under duvet!! Dd2 has gone out to cinema, then back to friends house(picking up MCD's on way back there)
We've had lunch, load 2of 8 is on.lunch things washed, table cleared and wiped
We've watch Matilda on DVD and had snuggles and I for very sleepy and soithy so in exchange fir s but Minecraft time I sneaking in a nap

mermaids cocopop tsunami sounds both funny and disastrous at the same time!least hectey help tidy up,bless. Always bonus when bigger grumpier DC go out and give you a break

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/04/2017 14:48

foxessocks · 05/04/2017 15:44

Haven't caught up on whole thread yet as just whizzing through to check my to do list and get started!

Ta das
Daily routine done
Car parts picked up and dh currently fixing car so fingers crossed it goes ok!

Zoo not too expensive thank goodness. We are off to the south west at the weekend to visit my new nephew!

mermaidsandunicorns · 05/04/2017 15:51

Ooo zoo you're coming down to my neck of the woods then (& bluepheasant)

mermaidsandunicorns · 05/04/2017 15:52

I meant foxes obviously

Sun has gone to my brain today

Cagliostro · 05/04/2017 15:53

Thanks folks. Still sending DD to brownies, she gets a lift there anyway and it's roller disco which she'd be gutted to miss again (she did last time as I was ill!). Will have to get a cab though.

Just told one of my best friends about the pregnancy, the one I mentioned last week who I couldn't tell because of her own difficulties. But I had to tell her as the Caglets know now and better to come from me than from DD blurting it out tomorrow. I know she's upset :( had to tell her some time I just wanted to wait longer. I feel so bad but I guess nowhere near as bad as she will be feeling now.

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/04/2017 15:55

Nap over, woke bit fuzzy head so glass water try fix that.
Just go put another load in wash/dryer
Fridge is next!

Afreshstartplease · 05/04/2017 15:58

Cag it can be really hard when close friends/family have fertility issues etc and you don't. Although as you say obviously harder for the person having the issues. I have had a once close friend drift away under similar circumstances. It's sad. Not helped at all by my not even ttc ANY of the freshthings

Afreshstartplease · 05/04/2017 15:58

I am not doing my fridge. I can't face it. Blush

foxessocks · 05/04/2017 16:01

cag your poor friend, I had a similar situation when I told my sil I was pregnant with ds as she had just had an ectopic pregnancy Sad (my sil has just had my nephew - not sure what your friends situation is though sorry if you already said)

Ta das
Cleaned out most of the fridge but got interrupted as ds started crying. He is still not himself (neither is dd she actually refused chocolate earlier!) but they are improving.

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/04/2017 16:02

X posts again cag
Oh honey. It was never going to be easy to tell her but like you say better from you that blurry out by a cag let
When i had ds and lil zoo I had tell a friend who had lost 2children in 20+weeks pregnancy to particularly vicious strain strep b(and was told a third attempt have child would kill her)I felt awful and remember crying with lil zoo as we were quite close by then. She gave me a hug and said it wasn't meant to be. Can I have a little cuddle once there here?I said of course my love.she cooed and stroked Lil zoo face, tears pour down hers and mine.thank you she sniffed aa gave her back.most people keep babies from me.turns out she never got hold a "live" one beforeSad

Cagliostro · 05/04/2017 16:04

I've not experienced this at all, and we were so lucky as it is with the Caglets (both first month of 'trying') and this one being a surprise. Extra problem is virtually nobody in our wider group knows about the issues she's faced, it's only me and a couple of others who know her kids are adopted so nobody else would understand why she's not happy.

Afreshstartplease · 05/04/2017 16:06

Zoo that is so sad Sad
